Chapter 17

Just like how Peter went to sleep fantasizing about the new look of their Oak Office, he wakes up with the same kinds of vibes in his brain. It works like divine when we get such positive vibes that make our morning good and the day full of energy. Peter is also experiencing a terrific start of the day and he does not keep any due works at home. After saying farewell to his grandmother he assures his presence at the Oak Office.

But something has made his eyes surprised and that is Uncle Rick’s car. Peter is already 10 minutes early and others are expected to come in next 15 minutes. But Uncle Rick is already here! However he is happy to see him. It is easily understood that Uncle Rick is very punctual about time management. Peter gets near the car window and asks,

Peter says, “Hey, Uncle!” Car window slowly comes down. A smiley face was awaiting there to greet Peter.

Uncle says, “You’re early my boy!”

Peter says, “But you’re earliest! Why this much early?”

Uncle Rick says, “I don’t know. Just it was meant to happen so I guess.”

Peter says, “Others will be here in 15 minutes I hope.” Uncle Rick gets out of his car and walks the other side of the road, beside the oak tree.

Uncle Rick says, “It’s quite impossible to guess that there’s an empty place inside. But if anyone thinks logically, it’s easy for him. By the way let’s get inside, shall we?”

Peter says, “I can get in but I can’t take you in without Ross. He knows something to get the fences aside and make a gap. He let Jonas in through that gap the first day. So we have to wait for him.”

Uncle Rick says, “And that new boy? He will also come right?”

Peter says, “Oops! I almost forgot about him. Yeah he should come. I just hope he remembers the directions right.”

Peter just finishes his sentence and notices a familiar face from a distance. He is with a middle aged man, walking with him. He was Paul.

Peter whispered, “This is Paul.” Uncle Rick smiles and replies, “Don’t need to say which one haha.”

When they come near to the car, Peter greets Paul. Paul introduces the stranger with them. He is Paul’s uncle Nicholas and Paul lives with him now. A question rises in Peter’s mind that if he lives with Nicholas why does he still need to work in the factory? But he leaves this though for later and work on the present situation first.

Following Paul he also introduces Uncle Rick to them as their to be said guardian and a very important advisor c*m friend. Then his uncle shakes Uncle Rick’s hand and they talk among themselves for a couple of minutes. Peter hears that he works at the same factory in morning hours. His wife runs a poultry farm and they also cultivate vegetables.

With Peter they are facing hardship to run the family and he says many such things that Peter cannot hear properly as he was talking with Paul at a distance. His uncle has to go somewhere by this road and that is why he takes Peter here. After a while he takes leave. Uncle Rick has a small general talk with Paul and invites him to come by his house if he gets time with the four of them. In a while the bunch of three arrives on the spot. They are happy to see Paul and Uncle Rick both present there.

Peter says, “Without making any delay can we enter now guys?”

All of them shout “YEAAAHHHH!!!”

Peter, Elliott, Ross gets in crossing the branch and Paul follows him. Uncle Rick and Jonas remain outside. Jonas looks at Uncle Rick and says, “I can feel your pain.”

Uncle Rick says, “Ross, won’t you take us man!”

Ross says, “Have patience uncle. Almost there.”

Ross does his trick on the fence and makes a gap so that Uncle Rick and Jonas can enter. Peter, Elliott and Paul learns the trick from him. He simple replaces a nail and a wood from the fence. It cannot be seen from outside as some bushes are covering the whole fence. Then he again fixes the fence like it wad before.

Uncle Rick's reaction after seeing the place is worthy of capturing. He is very astonished by seeing this awesome place. The environment around is capable of making anyone enjoy it. He has a seat on the benches, tests their durability and strength. He notices the neat and clean image of here. But it cannot be denied that the main beauty is created by the oak tree. It covers 75% of the whole area under it. The benches are under its shade. Paul is also overwhelmed by seeing such an amazing place. He is observing it while walking at all sides. Overall it can be said confidently that the g**g is successful to impress these two.

While they are watching around, Peter pulls the rope and turned blue signal on. Uncle Rick and Paul both become quite confused about it. Why such an eye catchy rope is hanging there, why pulling system is made so specially and such other questions are running in their heads. Before the questions take the form of sound and enter others ears Elliott elaborates all the mecessity of the whole system after he undertands their confusing condition. It is not the first that time teir ideas surprise Uncle Rick but this time after seeing this place, cleanliness, decorative ideas, setting up seats, rope system and many other things he cannot but praise them from the very depth of his heart. Although he prefers to keep the words in his mind and talk business.

Uncle Rick says, "So where do you guys wanna make that shed?"

Peter says, "Uncle at that corner. See there's nothing over it. That shed would increase this place's beauty and we'll also get some time to enjoy. Then we can do parties here to haha."

Paul says, "What kind of shed?"

Peter says, "Like normal. You know to sit under it spend some time. Whenever we have free time we used to hangout only. Now we can sometimes sit here and play some board games or we can do a lot of works."

Paul says, "That's a very impressive idea indeed!"

Peter says, "Yeah man! And when we'll complete our work it would be terrific!"

Elliott says, "Don't start flying in your thoughts too early. We haven’t decided yet what type of sheds we'll make."

Uncle Rick says, "You guys have any idea?"

Ross says, "I think we can build a tree house on this oak tree."

Elliott says, "C'mon man! We're thinking about the corner only for now."

Ross says, "Oh that's a point though. What to do?! Lack of ideas i guess."

Jonas says, "Can we use those plastic covers to set up in a frame and situate that here?"

Uncle Rick says, "I think that would be too weak for you guys. But that idea of tree house is great. Not on the tree, but you guys can make it at that corner. It'll be easier becaude You'll have to make two corners only. The other two are already concrete you see?"

Peter says, "Isn't that too much for kids like us?"

Uncle Rick says, "Kind of. But I'll be here to help you guys out, don't worry."

Jonas says, "We'll need a huge amount of wood boards then."

Paul says, "I can manage those. From the factory. They are getting wasted anyway."

Uncle Rick says, "That won't be necessary at all. I've saved a lot of planks while renovating my house. Those will be too much for this house."

Their excitements know no level at this point after hearing of this idea of a wooden house. No one could have imagined that a house can be made like this, in their oak office. The furthest they could imagine a tin-shed iron framed simple structure. But a wooden house was way beyond their imagination. Definitely it will create an aesthetic vibe in the environment which is enough to cherish anyone who will have just a glance at it. They all could sense the excitement running in their vines.

Ross says, “So, when do we start the work?”

Peter says, “When Uncle Rick says to start. We’re always ready.”

Uncle Rick says, “Let it be today then. Anyone has any problem?”

Peter says, “Not at all. I guess we all are ready to get our sweats out in this, are we fellas?”

Everyone cheers up at Peter’s slogan like “YEAAAAAH”

Uncle Rick says, “Let’s go to my house then take all the stuff and get back here. I think we need more than one trip. So I’ll take Peter, Paul and Jonas on the first trip. Let’s go boys. It’ll be the opening ceremony for Paul in my house haha.”

Paul says, “Yeah it is.”

Ross says, “It’s almost a free restaurant dude! You’ll get to know soon enough.”

Paul says, “I don’t get it.”

Peter says, “Come on now. You’ll need to go there at first.”

Uncle Rick does not reply anything on their comments. Ross opens up the fence again and lets them go out. In a few minutes they reach Uncle Rick’s house. The unique and rare design of the house surprises Paul’s eyes at the very beginning. Garden, interior everything catches his eyes. And he understands the most important thing for what he has been waiting.

Aunt Sarah greets him with two dishes that he has never tasted before. One is brownie and the other one is strawberry cheesecake. He says that he will not forget their taste ever. Aunt Sarah shoes some extra gratitude towards him as Uncle Rick had told everything about him the other day. She also feels really bad for him. She talks with Peter a lot about various things. She congratulates him for his brilliant performance at the sports events. In about 15 minutes Paul becomes very easy with Aunt Sarah and Uncle Rick. Aunt Sarah gives him a book as a gift and says,

Sarah says, “Read it my boy.” He takes it gently and nods his head after her line.

Uncle Rick says, “No more time waste boys. Let’s go to the store room. It’s behind the house.”

Peter says, “Come on boys!”

Their every movement is giving the proof for the interest in working. Uncle Rick takes a key from a desk and slowly walks to the store room. After he opens it every one of them gets their head inside and tries to observe what is inside. It is like a huge pile of junk inside, full of dust. Jonas has already sneezed once. Uncle Rick points at a stack of wood planks and tells them to bring all of them out. After bringing out they load all of them in Uncle Rick’s truck. Rick drives carefully and reaches their Oak Office. They unload them as fast as they loaded. Then the next trip is Ross and Elliott’s. While leaving Ross shouts,

Ross says, “how did ya’ like the restaurant man?” On the contrary Paul does not bother to reply anything. He does something that he always does, a gentle smile. The caring attitude of both of them has made him overwhelmed and he cannot let it out of his mind for a single second.

However he does not let anyone guess it from the outside. Uncle Rick brings many equipment, some still frames and large paper sheets.

Jonas says, “What are the sheets for uncle?”

Uncle Rick says, “Before starting, we always need a plan. Well draw our plan here. Although I’m not a civil engineer. But let’s see how things go.”

Peter says, “Where you’ll keep those sheets now?”

Uncle Rick says, “No worries kids. I have the wooden planks.”

Peter says, “Oops! Almost forgot about those.”

Uncle Rick says, “Let’s take everything inside then, c’mon everyone. Put your hands in work.”

Everyone follows as he orders. Ross plays a vital role in clearing the fences every time.

Uncle Rick says, “We’ll need to think about this one too.”
