AVERY’s POV
As I stepped into the car and sat down I was enveloped in a new world. The cabin was trimmed in rich white leather. The dashboard was a masterpiece of modern design, with a massive touchscreen display and a sleek, flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The seats were incredibly comfortable and I felt so relaxed, but I was immediately drawn back to reality, and I remembered what he said when I got in.
I wasn't quite sure what he meant by ‘he got me now’ but I tried hard not to stare at him. I was so quiet I almost stopped breathing. His car smelled and looked expensive. It felt as if I was part of a royal family. I am sure it cost an arm and a leg to get such a car.
He drove without uttering a word, and I liked that. He did not ask for directions, so I was forced to speak.
