Wolf of the eclipse

Chapter 15

I've been driving for a three days now. I'm only a few hours from the city. I made pretty good time though, only really stopping for gas. Which I need t do again. At least I grabbed the car that is good on gas, the others suck.

I pull over into a gas station in a small town. The next town is Midburn, only 3 hours and 24 mintues away. I'm so close, i'm so excited. I jump out of my car excited and start filling up.

" Only 3 and a half hours till i'm there. " I say out loud.

" Oh are you heading to Midburn. " I hear someone say

I turn my head and see a guy.

" You're a witch right. " He says.

" Yea. " I stammer out.

" You should hide your scent, the whole town can probably smell you by now. "

" Oh sorry, I'm not used to having to hide it. "

" It's all good. If you are heading to Midburn I'd be careful. The coven over there is getting territorial. "

" I'll look out, thanks. "

I finish filling up and head inside to pay.

" So why are you heading to Midburn. " He says standing inline behind me.

" No reason. "

" Oh sorry, if I'm being intrusive, I've never really met a witch before. "

" It's okay. "

I pay for the gas and walk out.

" Bye. " He says as he waves.

" Bye. " I say quietly and giving a small wave.

I walk out and hear the clerk say. " Why do you have to flirt with anything that moves. "

He laughs and says something but I can't hear it. I get into the car and start driving. I start to get close to the town and my phone starts to glitch. I pull over and try to fix it but it just turns off.

I sigh. " Great. "

I sit in the car trying to turn it back on. I give up and put the phone down, and grab the map. I look at the map and notice that the spot is faded more. I also notice that the spot isn't really in the city. I look out the window into the forest. It's really close to the town, and I should be able to walk it.

I drive a bit trying to find a dirt road or place for the car. I see a dirt road and drive up a bit and park the car. I grab my books and get out the car and start walking. I only walk for about an hour. I start to feel a pull towards something and walk towards it. I soon see a dim glowing light and walk towards it. It gets brighter the closer I get.

I get a few feet from it and then get tackled and they hold me down. " What are you doing here. " They say.

" Sorry. I just wanted to "

" To what. It's almost fully contaminated, you guys have done enough. "

" What are you walking about. "

" Adam! There's someone in the territory. Oh you already handled it. " Someone else come.

" Yes! I'm done with you people trying to get to the pond. What are you trying to do. "

" I don't know what you're talking about. "

" What do you have in here. Layla come grab her bag and look inside. "

" Okay. Aidan and Eva keep a look out. "

She comes over and grabs my bags and looks inside.

" These are books for witches, why do you have these. " She asks

" Because I am a witch. " I say.

" You're a witch, are you working with those wolves. " The guy says, putting more pressure on my back

I groan. " What wolves! "

" Don't lie. " He yells

" Layla, behind you. " Someone yells.

She looks behind her and a wolf is standing there.

" What do you want. " She yells

A man walks up. " You know what I want. " He looks at me " Oh look you're here too. " He smiles. " And look at that, they captured you for us. "

" You. " I say shocked. " Lucas. "

" Yes. I don't really care for the plans, I'd rather kill you instead. "

" What are you doing here. " The guy says getting off of me.

" Oh c'mon. I gotta say you guys are doing a good job, it's been difficult contaminating this pond. " He says.

I slowly get up up. " Why are you contaminating them. "

He sighs. " Kinda sucks that your the key to this. "

" What are you talking about. " I say confused.

" Doesn't matter anymore. Attack. "

Three other wolves come out of the trees.

" Really. Only four wolves. " The girl says.

He laughs. " I know you're not this strong, specially these ones.. "

He slowly backs into the trees. The wolves slowly close in and the two people slowly back up. I slowly reach down to grab a dagger. One of the wolves lunges at the girl and I throw a dagger right at it's head. It falls to the ground dead instantly. They both look at me in shock.

" It doesn't matter what you do, they're gonna kill you if you just stand there. " I say

" But. " The girl says.

" They were told to attack, and nothing is gonna stop them. "

They both look forward.

" We've never used magic like this before, we just finished our training. " The guy says.

" Do what you can. " I say.

" Okay. " The guy says.

" ignitempra inferaite. " He yells and two of the wolves catch fire.

" Woah. " I say

" Adam. why'd you. " The girl says.

" We have no other choice. "

The wolves on fire bolt into the woods yelping. The last one slowly retreat back into the trees. The girl grabs the guy by his arms.

" Why did you do that. " She yells

" I didn't kill them, the fire will stop before it kills them. "

They are fighting right in front of me, and I can sense something approaching.

" Hey you two. "

They ignore me and continue fighting.

" Guys. "

Suddenly it's really close and I push them down. I feel a sharp pain in my stomach, and look down and see a blade. I look up and it's Lucas.

He smiles. " Silver and igraltic. I hear it's poisonous to witches. " He pulls the blade out. " This is probably enough. "

He quickly disappears into the trees again. I put my hand over the wound and stumble back, and fall into the pond.
