Chapter 12

We all rode in one of the pack suvs to make it through town. The ceremony is right square in the middle of town where our pack has a stage built for community pack business, it was the easiest way for everyone to get together and not be so crammed. We pulled up to a group of warriors and they opened all of our doors and led us to the back of the stage. “Alright sweetheart, you’re going to walk up through here with me, and up the stairs. When we get to the podium I have to give my speech and introduce you. You can say something if you want to but it’s not required if you don’t feel comfortable. Your parents are in the front row and have been pulled aside to sit with our families, after the ceremony is over they’re having some sort of cookout, but since we just ate we’ll just mingle around a little bit. Are you ready?” Sam asked. “I’m ready, Sam. Let’s just do this and get it over with.” I said with a half smile. “No need for nervousness, I’ve got you, I’ll be standing by you the whole time. This one is going to be hard but they get easier.” he said. I knew I could do it but I was so nervous. Our pack is huge, we have werewolves and witches, there’s a few humans and vampires. I just had to tell myself I could do it, with Sam I could do anything. His voice really helped to melt away this nerve wracking feeling. We walked up the small set of stairs and up onto the stage. All I heard were gasps and loud whispers as soon as everyone saw me walking out on the stage. I knew this would be the reaction I got, I’m a teenager and I’m going to be in charge of an entire pack. We walked over to the podium hand in hand. His words started flowing into the microphone and it was the most beautiful thing, he spoke to these people with such power, pride and grace. “Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I’m sure you’re aware that we called you all here for some amazing news” He said looking at me “I wanted everyone here so I could introduce to you my mate and the love of my life, Cordelia Summers. Everyone please welcome your new luna!” he said, pulling me close to him. I knew he said I didn’t have to speak but I felt obligated, “Hello everyone, I know you all are very surprised, I am still very surprised myself. I look forward to building this pack to be great. I know I’m new to this, and I am very young, but I plan to help do some amazing things for this pack.” I said smiling and waving. Sam looked down at me and grabbed my hand and smiled “You are so perfect my love.” he said then turned back to the mic. “We have prepared you all an amazing lunch and would love for everyone to stay and eat and talk, listen to music. We will have a great Sunday together. We are open to questions if anyone has any, please don’t be shy to come ask us anything on your mind. Thank you everyone and please enjoy the festivities” he said, waving everyone off. I looked over and saw my parents, my mom crying and my dad in awe. Sam led me to the stairs at the front of the stage down to our parents, When we got down the stairs, within a matter of seconds, my mom and dad had me wrapped up in their arms. “Baby! We are so proud of you! My baby girl has grown up.” My mom said sobbing uncontrollably. “Elene, let the poor girl go. We need to take this time to spend time with her, not suffocate her.” my dad said. “Christian, shut up before I knock you out.” my mom snapped at him. “Guys, calm down. Please just talk to me, I have so much to tell you.” I said to them. My mom let me go and stepped back grabbing me by the shoulders “You’ve grown to be such a beautiful woman baby, I didn’t expect to lose you so soon but I am so happy for you. And those marks on your necks, you’re not my baby anymore.” my mom said as she started sobbing again. “Mommy, I’ll always be your baby.” I said crying right along with her. “Baby, please just think about it, she found her mate within our pack, she’s not going anywhere. She gets to stay here and we get to see her whenever. We have to think on the positive side, our baby is the future luna and I couldn’t be more proud.” my dad said “Now, let’s get to meeting our new son-in-law Elene.” I stepped back and grabbed Sam’s hand, pulling him closer to my parents. “This is Sameul, we found each other last night an hour or so into the ball. He’s perfect mom.” I said smiling. “It is a pleasure to meet you Alpha, please take care of my baby girl.” my mom said to him. “It is a pleasure as well, please call me Sam. We are family now so no formalities. Also, pleasure to see you again Christian.” Sam said, shaking my dad’s hand. “The pleasure is all mine, I’m so happy my daughter gets you as her mate.” Christian said to Sam. “We’re going to come by this evening if that’s okay mom. I have to get some of my things and we wanted to spend time with you.” I said to my parents. “Of course darling, you never have to ask. I’ll cook dinner for everyone and we can all get together, I would love to get to know your mate. Plus your sister and brother have been dying to officially meet him.” my mom said. “Okay mom, we should be there somewhere around 6 or 7, Sam and I have plans for tonight so we can’t stay too long.” I said “But we are supposed to mingle so I will see you tonight. I love you.” I said, telling both my parents goodbye. We waved at his parents, gaining a smile as we started to walk through the crowd. I was getting plenty of smiles, also some awful glares from some of the singles she wolves in the pack. I could tell that this was going to be an adventure in itself, the women in this pack were going to be a handful. We were about halfway through the crowd and a pair of arms flew around Sam’s shoulders. I just hoped and prayed that these weren’t the two girls I thought it was. It couldn’t be, they are the betas sisters, they couldn’t think they had a chance, but what do you know, of course it had to be them. “Sammy, hi! We didn’t see you at breakfast this morning” Bella said to him. “Yeah, we really missed seeing that beautiful face.” Bethany added. I pulled back on his hand pulling myself in front of him so I was face to face with these creatures. “Good afternoon ladies, I would greatly appreciate it if my mate remained out of your hands. He is mine for a reason.” I said pushing my hair back revealing my mark. “You little slut, how did you trick him into marking you? He is supposed to be our mate!” Bella screamed at me drawing a crowd of unnecessary attention. “Okay, well for one, he’s not yours and never will be. For two, I would never trick someone into doing anything they don’t want to do. Unlike you two, I’m appealing to people, I actually attract people and don’t drive them away with a piss poor attitude. Now, if you don’t mind, I have this day, and a VERY busy night to spend with my mate.” I said winking at the two. “He isn’t your mate! He is ours, he will never be your mate!” They both screamed at me. “Ladies! Let me make one thing abundantly clear, Cordelia is my one and only mate. You two mean nothing to me other than being my best friend and beta’s sisters. We were not mates and never would have been. You two are too immature and flat out mean for me to ever consider you two are too immature and flat out mean for me to ever consider you two anything other than what you are, my best friend’s sisters. So I will say it once and I will not repeat myself, this woman is your luna from this moment on. You disrespect her and you disrespect me, that goes for anyone, not just these two. This is our Luna of Canis Lupus pack! Disrespect will not be tolerated, any word from her mouth is law and if I hear of any type of issue, I will personally deal with it myself. Are we understood?!” Sam yelled. “Understood” said the whole pack in unisom. “I said was that understood you two!?” he yelled in the same ground shaking growl from this morning. “Yes alpha, I’m sorry alpha, I’m sorry luna.” they said bowing their heads. Sam got in front of me grabbing my hand once again, leading me through the crowd. “I can’t believe those girls had the nerve to go after Sam and Draco.” Zarya puffed in my ear “I know Zar, it took everything in me not to tear them apart.” I said back to her. “Our mate is so sexy standing up for us like that. I don’t think I can keep myself off of Draco for long love, I need him.” she said back to me. “Tonight you get to meet Zarya, you get to spend all night with him. I promise, you will get your night with him.” I said back to her. She couldn’t be anymore right about Sam, that jaw line tense, the veins in his neck. The massive, tattoo filled arms flexing as he got angrier. I could eat him up anytime anywhere. “My love, I don’t know what you’re thinking about, I really hope it’s me. But I really need you to stop, I can smell you and I don’t think I’m going to be able to control myself if you keep smelling that delicious.” he said to me making my entire face blush. “Sam! Someone could hear you!” I said. “I hope they do,I want everyone to know how delectable you are because no one gets to taste that sweetness but myself.” he said, turning to me with dark eyes and a sinister grin. “Have I struck a nerve my love?” he said to me. I nodded blushing uncontrollably, he knew exactly what to say to work me up, one night with me and he knew exactly what he was doing. “Use your words my love.” he demanded. “Yes Sam.” I gulped. “Don’t be shy now, it’s those naughty thoughts that got this conversation going.” he smiled. “I’m not shy, it's just... new.” I said back to him, making him retreat back a little bit. “For you, I won’t torture you since last night was the first time I had you, but just know, it won’t be the last time I have you melting in my hands.” he said kissing my mark making me shudder. “Now, let’s get the mingling done so we can go get your things from your parents house. We have one amazing night ahead of us.” he said, this man knew exactly how to make me putty in his hands, I have never been more turned on than I was right now and he knew it. It took a trip to the bathroom and splashing cold water on my face to even get close to calming down. I gathered my composure and walked back out to Sam, greeting people here and there, meeting new faces. There was one face that caught my eye and I couldn’t quite place it but I knew that face. I’ve had so many dreams of that face, I even saw that face in some of the battle scenes Zarya showed me when she first appeared. I stared intently until Sam realized I was zoned completely out on everything going on. “My love, what are you looking at over there?” he asked, “I can’t figure out how I know that person over there under the tree, they’re so familiar.” I said to him, “What person under the tree? I don’t see anyone over there love.” he said concerned. I looked back over and he was right, the person was gone, it was almost like they just disappeared into thin air they were gone so fast. “I don’t know, I guess I just got lost in the crowd baby.” I said to him, “If you’re sure my sweet.” he said with a hint of concern in his voice. “I’m sure Sam, I was just seeing things. There’s just a lot of people around. I’ve never seen our entire pack together.” I said. I didn’t want to explain how uncomfortable I was to him until I figured out who that person was, they were staring at me like they knew me. “Don’t worry about them right now Cor, they’re not an enemy. They’re just observing right now.” Zarya popped in. “Who are they?” I asked, “You will learn in due time, don’t worry about it right now. Soon you will know everything.” she said back to me. She couldn’t have been any more cryptic, I knew how stubborn she was, though and I knew she wasn’t going to tell me anything so I pushed it to the back of my mind. “It’s coming up on six o’clock, do you want to go ahead and head over to your parents?” Sam asked. “Yes, please. I need to get out of this crowd.” I said. He linked the others letting him know he had another vehicle coming for them and we got in the suv and headed for my parents.
