We all wait for everyone to arrive, as people enter the meeting room the voices grow louder until my dad thumps his rod onto the ground, Rylee then begins describing what we’re going to do, “We have a plan to steal the book back, it’s probably going to be our most difficult mission. Some of us are new here…” She said glancing at me, “...so please listen intently. The base itself is on the top of the remains of Niagra falls. The water is gone so we will be ok with climbing the side. The house hangs over the edge and it’s lifted up a bit. We know exactly where the book is supposed to be so we will dig a hole through the house. Then we have to run to the boat waiting on the other side of the dam. We will ride up the river to a cave and wait out the event, there is a base already made there and we should be safe there. Continue your training, we’ll be leaving in two days’ time, good luck my friends, may God be on our side.”
Everyone begins to leave and I try standing up but fall back to my seat, “I hope I can move by then.” I say to Rylee.
She giggles a little, “Yeah, that’s going to be a small problem if you can’t walk every time you see a vision.”
“That will definitely be a problem,” I say.
She turns to help me up, “I’ll get a seat moved to the training room, maybe we can figure out another one of your powers.”
We then walk out to the training room, Mikayla, Sarah, and Lily are there. Mikayla suddenly turns invisible as Sarah stabbed in the air where she was with a wooden rod that appeared out of thin air. Sarah then gets knocked to the ground and she suddenly is everywhere. A thousand duplicates are all over the room, all mirroring each other. Lily suddenly turns into a turning rod from the one reality shoe wipeout. She swept the room and all but one of the duplicates are still there. Sarah and Mikayla are there now being dragged by the sweep.
“Ok, ok, stop.” Sarah insisted.
Lily turned back into herself and said, “So who is the supreme trickster here.”
As she said this Sarah suddenly appeared behind Lily and knocked her over, “I am, obviously.” she said as her copy disappeared from where it was.
Lily catches herself by her hands on the ground and turns her head, “Why do I always fall for that.”
Sarah smiles and says, “Because nobody knows the future, and the game never ends.”
Lily gets up and calls out, “Mikayla you can come out again.”
Mikayla then appears on the floor, “Please, don’t do that, again.”
Sarah laughs at this, “Uf, you got squashed.”
Rylee then intruders, “Lily, we’re not supposed to hurt anyone. We are just here to practice using our abilities.”
Lily looks at Mikayla, “Sorry, couldn’t see you getting smooshed.”
“It’s alright, I forgive you,” Mikayla says, her face still in anguish because of the surprise.
“Bye,” They all say as they leave the room.
Rylee puts me down in a chair and then turns to me, “Ok, let’s try some tests and see what you can do.”
I stood up, but then fell flat on my face, “Well, it’s not, not feeling any pain.”
“It wouldn’t appear so.” She said hiding a laugh behind her smile.
I sat back up, “What should we try?”
She looked rather puzzled for a second and then said, “You could, sit there for a really long time and just focus. I mean your brain was able to see the future once before, maybe it will show you your true power?” She said this with a quizzical accent, so I wasn’t too sure.
I closed my eyes and thought extremely hard about what my power could be. As I thought my eyes opened to another place, I moved in my body, but when I turned around I could see myself sitting there. I was outside my body, I look over at Rylee and she’s just staring in awe.
“What on earth, did you just do?” she asked amazed due to the fact there was now two of me and one was a ghostly figure.
I shrugged my shoulders and said, “I don’t know, I just thought about what my powers could be and like phased outside of my body…”
She suddenly flinched, “Where did you go?”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
She was looking around, “You disappeared.”
“I must be able to go invisible in this form,” I said.
“That’s way cool,” she exclaimed.
I walked back into my body and it jolted back to life. I lifted up my hands and looked at them, “This just got weird.”
“Yeah, weird is a little melodramatic.”
We then left the room, my father took hold of me and took me to my room. I said goodnight to Rylee and we continued down the hall. When on my bed my dad asked, “What happened in there, she looked surprised.”
I answered excitedly, “It was amazing, I was outside of my body but able to see, hear, and speak. And then a little later I turned invisible, I walked back into my body and was normal again.”
“Well umm, that’s strange. That’s really strange. We’ll talk more tomorrow, goodnight son.” He left the room and closed the door.
I then thought, If I can do this, I wonder what else I can do. I then fell asleep, a smile across my face wider than I could imagine.
