Chapter 8 James's POV... I woke up immediately after my alarm went off. "I want Scott, a tracker and a fighter to join me to spy on the Blood Moon Pack." Nobody answered, I didn't expect them to, I needed to show them I was worthy of their respect once again. They probably only obeyed me because of my title. A couple of minutes later Scott and two other wolves stood before me. "What are your names?" I asked. "Scott Reyes, future Beta." "Danielle Adams, best tracker." "Jack Anderson, future fighter." I nodded, "well you all know I'm future Alpha James Knight." Murmurs were exchanged between the tracker and the fighter. I growled at them annoyed and they stared at me. "Now that that's settled, let's go." They nodded and after we shifted in the woods they followed me. After the trip and awkward silence we got to Blood Moon territory. "James I think I should go first," said Danielle and I nodded ignoring her lack of respect. We circled the territory and thankfully, nobody stopped us. A warning howl filled the forest, I spoke too soon. "James we have to get out of here!" yelled Scott and I nodded. "Run back to the pack!" I ordered and we barely escaped Blood Moon Pack's territory. "What did you find?" asked my father once he saw us. "The perimeter is not guarded that well," said Jack. "Their wolves are fast and heavily trained," said Scott. "What about their pack house?" "It's located in the center of the territory, there are a few houses around but the high ranked wolves live in the pack house," said Danielle. My father nodded, "anything else?" I nodded, "Callie is in the dungeon." My team stared at me, "how do you know that?" asked a suspicious looking Jack and I shrugged, "while we were running I heard the fighters saying something about Callie and a heavily guarded dungeon." They nodded but didn't look too convinced. "I'll inform the pack," said my father after a while, "you're all dismissed," Danielle, Jack and Scott bowed their heads and we made our way out, "James stay for a second." "I'm going to take the Alpha title from you," he said. "What?! But I'm the future Alpha of this pack!" I snapped. "Some Alpha you've been so far. The point is the pack doesn't respect you now, you need to get them to respect you again or you'll never be Alpha." My father said with a frown not surprised. I sighed, "Dad I've really screwed up, what if I can't get them to respect me again?" Silence... then... "Then I guess Scott will make a fine Alpha." I gaped at him. Scott, Alpha? I don't think so. I growled but my father didn't flinch, "you're dismissed son." I submitted and stormed out. I'll show this pack I can be a great Alpha. .......................................................................................................................................................................... Callie's POV... I paced my room as I waited for Rose. It was already afternoon, when Rose brought me my lunch. I needed to talk to her about her sister. She deserved to know how she died. The door opened and Rose walked in, her face blank. She set the tray down, "thanks." She only nodded and began to walk out but stopped halfway. "How did it happen?" I hesitated, "She found her mate, he was a rouge and she rejected him because of her past. Soon after that he returned with a few other wolves, they ambushed her house and her mate killed her." Rose turned to look at me, "wow, is that why you were scared of finding your mate?" "How did you know that?" "I have abilities, I guess you can call them powers, I can see some of the past, not all, but enough." I nodded, "have you found your mate?" She shook her head, "no, but when I get out of here I'll find him." After an awkward silence she spoke again, "you should rest; I sense something big happening ahead." Without another word she walked out. .......................................................................................................................................................................... Unknown's POV... My pack and I stood at the top of the hill looking down at our opponents. Her scent was faint but it was still fresh. My wolf was growing relentless this would have to be done soon. My Beta approached me, "My king, we're waiting for your signal." I nodded, "Attack!" Battle howls filled the forest and we sprinted into action. .......................................................................................................................................................................... James's POV... It was almost time, the fighters and trackers followed my father into unknown territory. "Everyone listen up! Our goal is to get our Luna out of here. Don't hurt the females or children unless they attack you first. Don't show mercy to your opponents, show them that we're a strong and united pack, we are one! We are the Silver Moon Pack!" Chorus of howls were shot into the air. "Good luck pack members, it's been an honor being your Alpha," whispered my Alpha before leading us into the unknown, one step towards my mate, to an unknown fate, to darkness. Howls stopped us, they were battle howls. Alert I looked around and noticed a group of wolves running down a hill. The Blood Moon Pack guardians attacked and the battle begun. "Who are they?" yelled Scott over the battle cries. "I don't know. Father, did you call for help?" I asked and he shook his head. He sniffed the air and tensed, "whatever you do don't attack those wolves!" "Why?" asked Scott. My father turned to look at him, "that's the Royal Moon Pack." Scott's eyes widened, "then what are we waiting for? Let's get my sister out and get the hell out of here!" Murmurs of agreements came from the pack. The Alpha nodded, "do as planned!" Once again we were on the move. In a few minutes we managed to get close to the house but more wolves appeared and stood between us and the mansion. Without a warning they lunged at us. A small wolf's body fell on top of me and clawed my back. I winced before turning and swiping her face. The small female fell and I took my chance to do the final blow. "James, follow me into the house!" yelled Scott and I nodded. Once inside it was quiet. Out of nowhere a huge wolf ambushed us from behind, "I'll take care of him, go find Callie!" I nodded and sprinted into the dungeon. I knew Callie was there, I could smell her, although I wasn't expecting to find what I saw... .......................................................................................................................................................................... Callie's POV... I was disturbed from my sleep as the door banged open and Rose's terrified face appeared in front of me. "We need to get out of here!" "What's happening?" I asked worried. "Wolves are attacking the house." I gulped, "alright let's go." Two deep growls stopped us at the door. Two wolves were standing before us, one bigger than the other. The bigger one had really dark fur, black, with green eyes; the other wolf had a reddish coat with brown eyes. I couldn't stop staring at those green eyes, not even when he shifted. My wolf howled in delight, He's our mate! I stood there gaping at him and before I could change my mind I ran right into his arms. He embraced me without hesitating. "Callie, who is this?" asked Rose sounding unsure and scared. Before I could respond, the other male shifted and Rose gasped as her eyes widened. "Mate," they whispered. "Evan, I think we should get out of here," said my mate's voice that sent shivers down my back. The other male nodded and shifted, Rose smiled and got onto his back. After they were gone my mate dropped his arms from my back. "We'll talk later, let's get out of here," he whispered into my ear and I nodded. He shifted and looked at me expectantly, "I can't shift," I whispered embarrassed. He didn't seem to mind, he motioned me to get onto his back and I happily obliged. He ran out of the room and as we turned the corner I saw James.
