Chapter 5: Answers Part 1

Kerah's P.O.V.

I wake up to a loud beeping sound and the smell of hand sanitizer and cleaner. I can also smell Jasper but can't seem to open my eyes. I also smell my family. They aren't in the room, but they were recently. I keep trying to open my eyes but fail. I try to talk but nothing comes out. There is no one in the room as far as I can tell. I try to move my arm, but nothing happens. I wish I could do something to let someone know that I'm awake or at least I think I'm awake. I can hear the dumb beeping of the heart monitor.

All I can see is darkness. There's not a sound that I can hear other than the monitor. I wish someone was around. It's too quiet. Suddenly there's a bright light right in front of me. It's not a light that was turned on. It's just floating there in the darkness. I start to wonder if I'm dead or if I'm just imagining it.

Suddenly it starts to talk. "Hello Kerah, everything you have been through recently had to happen to help you be stronger. I made you and your brother strong for a reason. That is why you were trained to be a great fighter or, as they call you, an expert warrior. You're only able to see me today because I wanted to tell you why had to go through what you did. There's a reason why I chose your pack to be able to have 2 Alphas and 2 Luna's. That's because you guys are all stronger leading together than you would be leading apart. It would have only brought greater struggles than it would anything else. You also must be careful you’re not just defending yourself anymore either. You are now also protecting your two pups that are currently growing inside of you."

I think about everything she just said. "Why us though. Are you serious, I’m pregnant with twins? Do you know what gender they are? What all can you tell me?”

She happily answers all my questions. "Yes, I chose you and your brother because you were the first set of twins in over 20 years. You and your brother are the only people who I believe can rule together and make things better than they were before, where other packs can’t work together with more than one set of rules. Yes, my dear you are pregnant. The pups will be identical twins. That is all I can tell you about the pups. If you wish for more information, you must see a Dr. You must go back now, my child. It is not your time to leave this planet." Just as fast as the light appeared the light disappeared.

I sit up in my bed before saying anything. "Jasper?"

He sits straight up and is at my side at once. He is looking for me over making sure I'm ok. Now I really need to know how long I was out for. "Thank Goddess your awake. Everyone will be so happy to know." He says right before mind-linking everyone.

I just look at him in confusion as I speak. "How long was I asleep for? When can I go home?"

He just looks at me as he answers all my questions. "You were asleep for 6 days. I don't know if you can go home, the doctor couldn't even be sure if you were going to wake up. I can go get him if you want."

He starts to get up, but I stop him and pull him onto the bed with me. "Please don't go. I still feel weak." He nods.

I feel so weak that I must lay my head on Jasper. He just pulls me closer. His scent helps me feel better and a bit stronger. I guess I end up falling asleep because when I wake up it's dark outside and Lyndy and Zayran are sitting on the couch waiting for me to wake up.

I try to sit up, but I'm pulled back down by Jasper. "Don't move too much or too fast. You’re still recovering from your fights." he says while placing a kiss on my mark.

I lay still on Jasper clearing my throat before I speak. "I saw the Moon Goddess or well her silhouette. She told me some things about the 4 of us. She said the reason we can lead together is because she believes we can make the pack better than what it was before with only one set of rulers. If we were to lead separately it would only make us struggle and cause us more problems than it would for us to lead together. I know this is a lot to take in but it's all true." They are all just looking at me like I have gone insane.

Soon they all nod and take a breath. Zayran and Lyndy got up and came over and gave me a hug. Before they leave. No one said anything. Jasper just pulls the covers up over us before kissing me good night. I realized something Zayran had a look of knowing on his face.

A couple of hours later Zayran mind links me. "I had the same dream. Why didn’t you mention the babies? There is still so much we all must learn. I just don't understand why. But I'm glad that we all get to do this together." With that I fell asleep that answered my question Zayran already knew about my dream because he had it too.

I wake up to a loud crashing sound. I try not to move too much as I don't know what made that sound and I don't want them to know I'm awake. I slowly start to move my arms to wake up Jazzy. I know he's in bed as I can feel his arms around me. I quickly pinched his arm. I hear his breathing change, so I know he's awake now. "Jazzy there is someone in our room I heard things crash down to the floor." I mind-link him as I don't want the person in our room to know we are awake. He pulls me closer to him as he rolls over so then I roll with him. I know it's so then he can protect me but I kind of wished that he didn't roll me towards the windows I can't sleep near the windows. I can't see anything as they had to make my wolf go to sleep so then she'd heal faster. Jasper let's out a growl letting whoever it is know that he knows that they are in the room.

"So sorry for. Waking you. I was told to come in and check on the Luna. Even with my wolf sight I'm still very clumsy." A nurse says as she walks closer to the bed. I feel Jazzy relaxed which means he trusts the nurse enough to come near me. "I'm sorry but Luna I'm going to need you to roll over out of Alphas grasp for a bit. I need to get your vitals and check your wounds and change the bandages. It will only take me about 15 minutes."

I let out a loud groan letting her know that I wasn't too pleased nor happy about having to get out of Jasper's arms. But I do as I'm asked as I know in order for me to be allowed to go home, I have to let her do her job. I also want them to wake my wolf up. I don't like feeling so human. She quickly checks my temperature and blood pressure. Which all came back good. She unwrapped and cleaned my wounds and then left. It took her 30 minutes to get it all done. She was a bit squeamish. But hey she'll have to get used to it. She'll see far worse than this in this career.

I lay back down and of course Jazzy is already back to sleep, so I just try to get comfortable with what I have. Jasper has taken over my bed so now I have the edge of the bed. I don't dare wake him I know he needs sleep. I curl up the best I can into his side when he wraps his arms around me and whispers in my ear. "You know all you had to do was ask and I would have made room." He says trying to hold in his laughter and failing.

"I know but I didn't want to wake you. You looked so peaceful. I know how to make do with what I have. But sense your awake. Make some room I'm exhausted." I say fighting back a big yawn. He pulls me closer, and we both go back to sleep.

I wake up to people whispering. I don't move as I want to know what they are talking about. "Her wolf won't wake Alpha. We have tried everything. She is still too weak. She can't go home. She needs to be watched 24/7. We must have missed something when we examined her." Nurses tell Jasper. I hear his breathing getting heavier. He's angry. Maybe I should let them know that I'm awake so then I can calm him down.

"I didn't ask if she could go home, I said I was taking her home. She has trouble resting here. She'd be better at home. I have gotten permission from the other Alpha and Luna to take this time to help her heal and get better. She needs us and we can't always be here, she’s going home with me now. The other Alpha and Luna moved to their house nearby so that they could help her heal as well. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm taking her home. I have already talked to the doctor, and he said he'll stop by daily to check and treat her as needed. He also has taught me how to do everything for her that she'll need done. He said I may take her home so that's what I'm doing." Next thing I know his arms are around me lifting me up and I'm being carried out of the pack hospital.

When we got outside, I opened my eyes and smiled at him. I reach up and touch his mark and he relax under my touch. He looks down and smiles back as he goes to place a kiss on my forehead. I leave his lips pressed to my forehead for a moment before pulling away. "I love you baby, but you should really be resting." He speaks.

"I'm so tired of resting all of the time. I'm so glad I'm getting to go home with you. To our home. All that hospital did was keep me sedated. I don't feel like I made any progress healing at all. My wolf is hardly even noticeable now. I'm afraid she won't come back. I should of never of taken those challenges. I'm so stupid. I'm sorry baby. I love you too." I told him. I feel so bad he's not going to be as strong as he needs if I lose my wolf. What good is his mate without her wolf to help protect the family and the pack.

He growls at me. "YOU ARE NOT STUPID! It's not your fault all of those wolves wanted to fight you. They are just hungry for power. We have been trying to keep you asleep in hopes that you and your wolf will heal faster. But it was not helping. Baby your wolf and you need your mate and your twin. Your wolf will return, she just needs the proper help. I'll be by your side 24/7. Your brother will be there when he isn't busy with pack duties. We love you so much baby. All we want for you and your wolf is for you both to get better. " He's practically scowling at me at this point. I know he's right about my wolf. I just can't help but feel like this is all of my fault.

We finally reached our house and I noticed that he wasn't joking about my brother and Lyndy moving their house over by ours. This was supposed to be my little get away from everyone except Jazzy. I guess I'll share it with them too. Jazzy is trying to find the key to the house when Zayran and Lyndy approach our house. "There you 2 are. I hope the doctor and nurses didn't give you too much trouble. I hope your right about bringing her home. I'd hate to see her get worse rather than better. I know she needs to rest though so you better get her inside and to bed right away. Or it's back to the hospital for her." Zayran says when he gets to our door unlocking it and opening the door for Jazzy to take me inside and to our room the last place I want to be right now.

"ZarZar I'm not tired. I don't want to lay in bed no more. I hurt from all the laying around in bed. My wolf needs me to get stronger for her to come back. She'll never come back if I'm too weak. I just want to sit down and hang out with you all. I don't want to stay in bed anymore." I say looking at Zayran and Jazzy with puppy dog eyes.

"Sis, you need all of the rest that you can get. I'd hate for your wolf not to come back because you weren't rested enough for her to come back. But if you promise not to overdo it, we won't make you stay in bed all of the time. Tt was one of the doctors rules in letting you out of the hospital. It was hard enough convincing him not to have you sedated all of the time." Zayran says almost in shock. But he knows I'm right about resting and getting stronger. I'll need to do both in order for my wolf to come back to me.

I'm glad that I convinced my brother to let me stay out of bed. I was really hurting but what I didn't tell him is that I'm not just hurting from being in bed I was also hurting from Jazzy not wanting to touch me. He refuses to touch me sexually as I'm "hurt". I love his protectiveness, but he isn't going to hurt me by having s*x with me or well I don't think he would. I'll have to ask the doctor when he comes later today.

Jaspers P.O.V

Hours go by and there is a knock on our door. I got up and answered the door.

"Hello Dr. Chesterfield. We have been waiting." I speak.

He walks through the door and goes straight to the living room to start the checkup. He doesn't say much to us at all I'm starting to think Zayran is right about the doctor lying and keeping things from us. He didn't say anything at all.

He gets up off the couch and shakes her hand. He then stopped by the front door and said, "I'd like for the 2 of you to come to my office in about a week to make sure that she healed up fully and to make sure that she's in perfect health and mind." With that he nods a fair well to me and leaves.

I go over to Kerah and sit down next to her. "What's wrong babe? You didn't say anything to the doctor and normally you would have a lot to say."

She just looked up and smiled at me. That's not like her. After 15 minutes go by, she finally says, "He's hiding stuff from us." Then she started crying. I just wrap her in my arms and kiss her mark. She fell asleep in my arms, so I carried her upstairs and put her to bed to rest. I go back downstairs and find Zayran and Lyndy waiting in the living room.

"Hey guys. What can I do for you?" I ask them as they usually mind-links us before coming over.

"We were just wondering what the doctor said. How is she doing?" Lyndy asked.

"He said nothing about her health or how she looked. He literally sat here looking her over and said nothing. Then he got up and asked us to come into the office in a week for her final checkup. To make sure she healed mind and body. Then he left." I say all while clenching my jaw trying not to yell so then I didn't wake up Kerah. "Kerah seems ok she says that the doctor is hiding stuff from us. I didn't know what that meant as she started crying and then she fell asleep." I say calmer and more relaxed.

Zayran's face goes from calm to angry and he is shaking. "YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! HE REALLY SAID NOTHING AND THEN LEFT. JUST LIKE THAT." He is yelling as loud as he can get. "Why would she think he's hiding stuff from you guys? Unless there's something she knows that he refuses to tell you. That would have me worried. What would she......." He says while dying out at the end.

"No, she clearly said hiding something from us. As in her and I. Unless you think she knows but the doctor didn't notice it or if he did, he didn't want to tell any of us." I speak. We all stood there for a while as I realized just what she meant. The doctor is hiding something for them but it’s not them, its Jasper he’s hiding something from 2 somethings.

Hours go by of us just standing there next thing I know I have a pair of arms going around my waist. I know exactly who it is by the tingles and sparks that go off the second she touches me.

"Hey beautiful. I thought you were sleeping?" I say turning around in her arms.

"I was but I got hungry. So, I came to see what was for dinner. But as I stood there you all were lost deep in thought. So, I figured I'd take you out of your deep thoughts." She says getting on her tip toes to give me a kiss. which I gladly return.

"Oh, my goddess I forgot about cooking dinner. Let me go get you something to eat." I say while exiting the room and going to the kitchen. They all started to talk I couldn't make out any of it as I was too busy making dinner.

Kerah's P.O.V.

"Sis, can I ask you something?" Zayran asked me with a very confused but serious face.

"Yeah. What do you want to know?" I say looking at him with a concerned look on my face.

"Jasper said you mentioned that you thought the doctor was hiding something from you guys. Do you happen to know what he's hiding? If not that's ok too." He looks at me but the look on his face says he knows what I mean.

I don't know if I want to tell them before I even get the chance to tell Jazzy. I decided to tell them but to have them keep it quiet till I tell Jazzy. "I do know and so do you ZarZar but Lyndy you'll have to promise me not to tell Jasper."

"I promise" she says.

"Ok. I'm pregnant. I was lucky I didn't lose them when I was in all of those challenges. The doctor mind links me during our visits so then I can make sure they are healthy he says I finally can tell Jasper now."

They look horrified, shocked, and excited all at the same time. By the time Jasper came back into the room they masked their emotions and went to the kitchen for dinner.

Jasper takes me by the hand and leads me to the kitchen and sits me on his lap. This is how we always eat.

After dinner we all went to the living room, and I had the perfect plan to tell Jasper but first I needed things.

I quickly mind link Zayran and Lyndy "Hey I need one or both of you to run to the store and get a few things for me. So, then I can tell Jasper tonight!" I send them a text of what I need, and Lyndy gets up and says she needed to run to the store and that she'd be right back.

"My mom has all of this I'll get double for you sense you said they. Do you happen to know what the genders are?". She mind-linked me back after she was already out the door.

"I'm having twins and it's two boys. The doctor confirmed that today." I mind-link back. I don't hear back from her so assume that's all she needed to know.

We watched part of the movie till Lyndy got back. I got up from the couch and went with her to the kitchen. "Thank you so much. I can't wait to tell him. I whispered to her.

She started helping me set it all up then it was time to take it to the living room. I had things in gift bags and on the snack tray. I had tiny pretzels, baby carrots, mini m&m's, we cut up some celery into the size of the baby carrots and put some peanut butter on the tray as well as some ranch.

Lyndy carried in the bags for me as I carried the tray. I walked into the living room and sat the tray down right in front of Jasper. He just looks at it for a bit.

"Is this some type of food theme we are doing?" he says with a curious look on his face.

"Yes, there is a theme. Can you figure out what it is?" I asked him to try not to just give it away.

"Well, everything is in mini size so I'm guessing that it's a mini theme." He says with a questionable look on his face.

"No, it's not a mini theme. But they aren't the regular sizes you can buy either. I wouldn't call them mini, but I'd call them...." I say driving off at the end so then I didn't say the word baby.

"Ok well if we are thinking like girls then we'd call them baby sized sorry." He says in a teasing tone.

"Yes!" I speak. "Ok now do you know why it's all in the theme?" I ask before I give him the gift bags.

"No. Can I have a hint?" he asks, starting to get a bit more curious.

"We’ll have 2 more hints." I say taking one of the gift bags and handing it to him.

He looks at it for a second before he opens the bag. He pulls out a baby wash cloth, a baby rubber duck, a pair of baby socks, and a baby mirror. Lyndy did a wonderful job of choosing all the hints.

"Ok so this baby is filled with a bunch of babies sized objects. Was that the clue? It's all baby sized again." He questions.

"Yes, that's part of the clue." I say with a big smile on my face. This is more fun than I thought it would be.

"Can I please have the last hint? All this tiny stuff isn't helping just yet." He admits before giving me a sad face.

I take the final hint from Lyndy and place it in his lap. "I hope you get it with this hint otherwise I'm just going to have to tell you." I say before letting him open the final hint.

He starts to open the bag and looks inside. He looks confused even more than he did. He pulls out a blue onesie and then reaches into the bag again and pulls out a second blue onesie. He looks up at me and back at the clothes. He looks back into the bag and pulls out a piece of paper.

"What wear these? Is this seriously the last hint? Babies where the clothes and socks but nothing else from the hints." He says then he starts to look at everything one more time before his head snaps up and looks at me with the biggest smile on his face. "Are you pregnant!?" He asked.

"Yes, with Twin boys. You can thank Lyndy for all of the wonderful...." Next thing I know I'm in his lap and he's kissing me.

"I love you so much" He says then he gets this worried look and says, "Did you say Twins?"

"Yes." After that he passed out.

"Well, we better get home congrats. We will see you guys tomorrow." Zayran says, leading Lyndy out the door.

I lay on Jaspers chest and start falling asleep on him.
