Twin Wolves

Chapter 3: New Beginnings Part 2

****Time jump****

We are back at my parents’ house in the front yard. Just lying in the grass. We still had about 2 hours before the joining ceremony. I hear twigs snapping in the wooded area a little way in front of us. My head shot straight up looking for whatever it was that made the twigs snap. I knew it wasn’t my Lyndy or my brother they are right beside us. I see a small wolf step out of the trees. It’s small so it’s a female. Males are always larger than females. Her eyes are locked right on me. It’s growling at me. It wants a fight. I stand up carefully so then I don’t hurt the others my dad runs outside and stands there in shock. No one ever comes onto our territory.

I start to walk forward sense I’m already in wolf form I’m already to fight and protect my family and pack. Jasper stops me by rubbing his body against mine and stepping slightly in front of me. He goes from his wolf to his human form faster than I could stop him. I quickly grab his hand lightly with my muzzle. Telling him I did not like him exposed in human form with a wolf who wants to fight.

He steps behind me before he said anything. “She is my ex. She was mad when she was not my mate. So, I broke up with her. And set off to find you. She wants you out of the picture so then I will go back to her.” He says in anger. He looks up at her “I am not going to hold her back. She will kill you she is an expert warrior. Her and her twin brother are. You can still back out just go back home and leave me alone.” He nods at me that he has done now and that it’s my turn to except her challenge.

I crouch down readying myself for her attack. I growl at her as she runs at me and tries to grab me by the throat, I quickly jump out the way and she slams into my porch hard. She lets out a whimper when she hits the porch. I wait for her to get up. Most wolves wouldn’t wait they’d just attack but that takes the fun out of it. Plus, she challenged me. So, I want to let her give it her best shot. Even though we already know the outcome of this fight.

10 minutes pass before she even tries to get up and come at me again. This time I grab her by the neck and let out a loud deep growl that shakes her and makes everyone around us shiver and bow their heads due to the power. I throw her across the yard so hard that she almost hits the trees that she came out of. She gets up and starts to come at me fast and hard. I grab her by the tail this time to let her have a shot in the fight but all she does is whimper and squirm which make my teeth go into her skin farther. I can taste blood, so I let go and wait for her to attack. I study her. She’s not really wanting to fight anymore.

“Alpha please tell her to give up. Or I’ll kill her right now. She doesn’t even want to fight. It’s not worth it. Tell her that she can go home to her family and train and get stronger and then come back when she’s ready to fight and we will have a rematch then.” I say this would be the first person I ever allow to walk away from a fight with me. It’s only so then she can go home and get stronger and challenge me when she has a better chance.

“This is your last chance. You’re lucky my daughter is going to allow you to submit. But if you don’t, she will kill you right now. She says to come back when you’re up for the challenge.” He says disappointed but he understood why I was doing it.

She looks at me with sorrow eyes and shows me her neck. I shift back into my skin form so then I can tell her why I’m letting her go. “I’m not letting you go because I feel bad for you. I’m letting you go to go home to your family. To go home and get stronger.” I turn around and Jasper is holding up my clothes for me to put on. He doesn’t like it when other wolf’s see me naked. Shoot no mate likes it when other wolf’s see them naked unless it’s their mate.

She shifts into her skin side. “I’m sorry I came into your territory and for challenging you. This was all a mistake. I should of never came here today and tried to hurt him or you like that it wasn’t right. I’m very sorry I hope you can forgive me.”

“It’s fine. Just don’t let it happen again. There is someone out there for you. You just must go look or ask your alpha to invite unmated males to help unmated she-wolves find their mates.” I say with a smile on my face.

“I would but I rejected my mate. I wanted a better one. Mates are supposed to be strong and have great looks.” She says sadly.

“Your mate is sacred. You should never not be with them because they aren’t strong or good looking. You should be happy to even have one at all. I thought that I’d never find my mate. Mates are gifts not trash. The moon goddess won’t give you another one if this is how you think about a mate.” I say disgraced at what I was hearing. “It’s time for you to leave now. I don’t want to see you here again because the next time that I do I will kill you. Now leave and don’t come back unless you have a death wish or until you’re ready to take on the challenge.” I say in a warning tone.

She quickly turns around and shifts back into her wolf side and runs back into the trees and disappears. We will send scouts out in a while to make sure she left our territory. My dad would never let someone who came here to fight stay in our territory long especially after being given a second chance to live.

“Alpha I’d like to be one of the scouts to make sure she left. If she didn’t, I’m going to finish what she started.” Zayran says. He is mad at me for letting her go. But he’d do the same thing if the fighter had no heart to fight or take on the person they challenged.

“No son that’s not your place. It’s your sister’s choice to make. If she wants to give her a second chance at life. I think that’s fair. It’s also what a true leader would do. I agree with your sister that wolf wasn’t into a fight especially with someone like you or your sister.” Dad says in a stern voice. He was basically warning my brother not to go out there because if he did, he’d get punished.

“I did the right thing ZarZar. She left there is no way she stayed in our territory knowing that I go out there every day. If I don’t let my wolf out, she gets harder to control so every day I let her out and let her do her thing.” I say shoving the clothes away that Jasper was holding out to me.

I walk over to my bag and start giving everyone their nice clothes. Basically, telling them it’s time to put on our happy faces and look our part as feature leaders. Mom and Dad noticed that I made all of us match each other. The only difference was our clothes colors. That’s when my dad noticed my fresh mate mark. They look at Jasper and check him over and notices he has a matching mark on him. My parents just smile big and go inside probably to get ready. Jasper helps me with my dress, and I help him with his tie. Lyndy helps Zayran with his tie and he helps her with her dress.

“I hope we can tell you apart later.” They say at the same time. Then they both just start laughing.

“Gee I hope you can tell your mate from my brother’s mate. I’m in red she’s in blue. If you have any trouble remembering this look at your shirt it matches my dress just like Lyndy’s dress matches Zayran’s shirt.” I say while laughing.

We all wait outside for our parents. We all decided that we would go together. Plus, Zayran and I can’t go without mom and dad anyway. We all must show up together. It’s the packs rules. The Alpha’s family must show up together for all and any pack events, celebrations, parties, or ceremonies. Only excuse is if one of use gets sick which isn’t often actually it’s like never. All our parents come outside at the same time. All the girls are wearing the same dress as Lyndy and me. Cora’s dress is purple, Mary’s dress is dark blue, Martha’s dress is orange, Emily’s dress is green, and Sarah’s dress is lime green. All the guys are in the same shirt but assorted colors to match their mates. Emily had her birthday a few days ago so she’s 15 now. Tim and she are mates. It’s cool to be honest.

We all walk with our mates in silence. None of them have a clue about the joining ceremony tonight just that there is a pack function. Normally you must be a part of the pack for a month. So, then the whole pack could meet you and decide if they wanted you to be a part of the pack. It’s a pack decision and not just an Alpha one. But sense they are our mates that’s good enough for the pack to decide that they can be a part of the pack.

We get to the pack yard where the ceremony is being held. There is a bon fire already going and music playing. Everyone is socializing and having an enjoyable time. Even though it has only just started. There is always a fight when we do any form of pack functions. So of course, I have my bag with me with extra clothes of the exact outfits everyone in my family is wearing. As one or all of us will have to break it up. I wish everyone in the pack could just get along but there will always be that one person who doesn’t like so and so. But it’s part of a pack. There is bound to be conflict.

My parents go straight to the stage and of course Zayran and I must go to. We both kiss our mates and go up on the stage with our parents. Everyone goes silent. It’s rude to keep talking once we are on the stage. It makes my dad mad. If he must silence you there is an issue, and you won’t like him after he must make you be quiet.

My dad gestures to the crowd of wolf’s before speaking. “Thank you everyone for joining us tonight. As you all know we have new members of the pack. So, as I say your name, please come to the stage for the joining ceremony. Jasper, Lyndy, Jerry, Marry, and Tim, Morgan, Martha, Jordan, Sarah, Emily Morgan and Martha.” My dad waits for everyone to get onto the stage. Before speaking again. “Do you all promise to protect the pack no matter who it is? To be one with the pack? To follow orders and commands given to you by your Alpha and Luna now and in the future no matter who it is? Do you agree to follow all the pack’s rules including any new rules made by your new Alpha’s and Luna’s to come?”

They all speak at the same time. “We agree Alpha and Luna present and future.”

This ended the joining ceremony and started the dinner and party. We all go to get off the stage when my dad clears his throat before speaking again which means me and my brother must stay on stage everyone else may go and join the crowd. Yay us. “Now as you all know our children are next in line, we just had to figure out who was going to lead the pack as your new Alpha and Luna. Well, we have decided now. We are glad to tell you all that both of our twins and their mates will be leading the pack together. For the first time ever, we will have 2 Alpha’s and 2 Luna’s. So tonight, my wife and I are stepping down as your leaders and they are stepping up as your new leaders you all must respect what they say and follow their rules. Please step forward and take your new positions as Alpha’s and Luna’s.” Jasper and Lyndy join us back up on the stage and we all sign the title to the land and the Alpha and Luna papers saying that we promise to do anything and everything that will help the pack. We promise not to betray or harm the pack in any way. This makes us Alpha’s and Luna’s. That and shaking the current Alpha’s and Luna’s hands which will give us the strength and power to lead the pack. It’s the first time in wolf history that there have ever been 2 Alpha’s and 2 Luna’s.

We all get off the stage and go get our food everyone must wait till the Alpha and Luna are done getting their food. No one can eat before the Alpha takes the first bite either. In this case everyone must wait for Zayran and Jasper to take the first bite of their food. Which they do at the same time. Everyone waits for them to swallow before digging in. I never understood why the Alpha’s had to take the first bite. It has always been a rule. In face it’s a rule in every pack that I have been to. I have been to a bunch of packs and so has my brother.

The rest of the night goes by in a blur. We all said our hello’s and greeted close to everyone in the pack. There were a few members that weren’t here tonight due to being sick. When I get tired, I go and find Jasper so then we can go home. Now that we are Alpha and Luna, we will get our own house. I know where mine is sense Zayran and I got to choose them when we turned 15. I grab Jasper’s hand and squeeze it letting him know I’m ready to go. I nod my head at the people he’s talking to and then mind link my brother.

“Jasper and I are going home now. That means Lyndy and you are going to have to take charge of the pack now. I also have good rules to put into place in the morning. Love you have a good night.” With that Jasper and I go home with me leading the way.

When we get home, I go straight up stairs and to our bedroom. Jasper is right behind and helps me out of my dress and grabs me one of his t-shirts. I put on his t-shirt and go to the big king size bed and pull back the covers so then the both of us can get right in and go to sleep.

Jasper finished changing out of his nice clothes and just got into bed in just his boxers. I climb in next to him and he pulls me close to him and wraps his arms around me tightly. He kisses me on the forehead and whispers “Goodnight, babe. I love you. Sleep tight.” It went pitch black after that.
