Chapter 7: Waking The Wolf

1854 Words
It has been 2 weeks sense we found out the doctor was lying to us. I still haven't found a way to reverse the Blue Oleander mixed with Wolfsbane. The librarian has found a book that might help but she had to order it. We are now waiting for the book to arrive it should be here any day now. I hope this book comes today. I don't know how long we can wait before my wolf doesn't come back at all. "Hello earth to Kerah. Are you even listening to me?" says Lyndy as she waves her hand in front of me. We have been hanging out more now that the boys are too busy with pack stuff and trying to find a cure for me. Damn doctor just couldn't do his job without ruining my life. "Huh. No, I'm sorry I wasn't listening. I was just thinking about that book the librarian ordered. I think it should be arriving today. It's been 2 weeks sense she ordered it. I hope it comes today. Lyndy, I don't think I can survive without this cure. I mean I hope I can, but I don't find it very likely." I say snapping out of my daze. I have been moved to the pack house so then the new doctor has better access to me for the just in case I start having any issues. So basically, I'm back in the hospital, I have doctors and nurses in and out of my room all day. They never leave me alone unless I have Lyndy or one of the boys with me. They all act like I have a deadly disease or something. But I know all they are trying to do is make sure that the pups and I are ok. "You'll be just fine. How about I send one of the pack members to check the library? I can send one of the betas wife's. They're always willing to help. Maybe they can even get a book of baby names for boys?" She is looking at me with hopeful eyes. "I already have the pups names picked out. Their names are going to be Adikus James and Allaric John" I say with confidence. "Oh, ok I didn't know you guys have already discussed names. I love those names as well. We didn't want to tell anyone, but I can't keep it in any longer. I'm also pregnant with twin girls. Their names are going to be Bethany Mae and Baily Marie." She says with a proud look on her face. "Oh, my goodness. I can't believe we are both pregnant. But why don't you guys want to tell anyone. That is great news, and the pack would love it. Does the pack know that I'm pregnant?" I speak. I can't believe they haven't told anyone. I haven't told anyone yet. I just don’t know if Jasper has. "No pack don't know about you being pregnant yet. Jasper wanted to wait till we found a cure for getting your wolf back. Zayran don't want the pack to know till your better. He wants to tell the pack at the same time you all tell the pack." she says with a sad look on her face. Then she goes blank, and a smile appears on her face. "Which might be today. The librarian just got the book and she's on her way right now to give it to you. Oh, I hope this has what we have all been looking for. It’d be good to get you out of this room and back out into the pack life." she says excitedly. I'm excited too but I don't want to get my hopes up. I can't wait to get my wolf back and to start the healing process and for her to watch her pups be born and watch and protect them like she was meant to. Just then there was a knock on the door. In came the librarian with a big book. I'm going to have to try and get out of bed and get to the desk. "Lyndy, do you mind asking Jasper to come to help me get to the desk? I got to go read that book." I say eagerly. She nods and leaves the room to go find Jasper. Any other time she would have mind linked him, but I guess she just wanted to get out of the room for a bit. "Do you really think that has the cure for the Blue Oleander mixed with Wolfsbane?" I asked the librarian. "Yes, I do this book is all about Blue Oleander. How to use it and how to counter react to its effects. So yes, I'm very sure this will have the answers you’re looking for. I could bring the book to bed if that would be easier. Or I could even get you one of those wheely trays that can move above your bed and away from it if needed." She says happily. "Either is fine I really just want to do something and get my strength and energy back. If I can't find this cure, my wolf might not make it to the day the twins will be born. Which means I’ll be human." I say with sad eyes. Yes, the librarian knows about pregnancy. She's sometimes the only person around who I can talk to. She has promised me not to tell anyone. I know I can trust her. "Yes, let's get that tray." Off she went to find the tray. I'm all alone with just my thoughts. Which isn't always a good thing. Most of the time I can't help but think of all of the what ifs. I don't always like to think like that, but I can't help it most of the time. There is a knock on the door, and I can't get up to answer it either, so I just yell for them to come in. To my surprise it's the librarian with the tray and Jasper but not Lyndy. "Where is Lyndy? Not that I'm not happy to see you or anything. She just left to go get you and bring you back. Or so I thought." I say with confusion. "She's with Zayran. Something about a nice walk and time together. So, I came to hang out with my favorite person." He says with my favorite smile on his face. "Well good. Take a seat, we have a lot of reading to do." I say patting the spot next to me. The librarian sets the book down onto the table tray and slides the tray in front of us. "Here you go dears. Let me know when your all done reading and I'll come back for the book." She says while leaving the bedroom. "Ok baby. I suggest we get to work. It's going to be a long night." Jasper says while opening the book to the index and searching for what we needed. which would be a remedy. "Yes, here it is handsome, page number 145. Now all we have to look for is putting wolf to sleep." I say Jasper is turning to the page number we needed. He starts reading. I ended up dosing off. Jasper is shaking me awake with a big smile on his face. "Here it is. Baby all we need to do is mix Purple Oleander, Red Oleander, and the wolfsbane antidote together and it should kick in in a matter of hours maybe even a day." He says jumping from the bed and coming around to my side to remove the table tray. He picks me up and starts to carry me. I go back to sleep. When I wake up, I'm hooked up to a monitor and the doctor and Jasper are looking over the book together as Jasper tells the doctor how to make the Antidote properly. I smile as they make this strange face and they both just look back at me. "Good morning are you ready for the Antidote. I'm going to insert it into your IV now. If that's ok with you. That is?" The doctor says coming over to my bed side. Jasper walks around the bed and sits into the chair next to my bed. "It took us all night to get this right, so I think I'd be best to give it to you now." He says, looking at me with a big smile. "Of course I'm ready. Will this affect the twins at all?" I say a bit nervous. "No. Of course not. This will only reverse the Blue Oleander with the Wolfsbane. On the 3 of you." The doctor says as she injects the fluid into my IV. "Thank you doctor. We'll call you if anything happens. Good or bad." Jasper says while rubbing tiny circles onto my hand to keep me calm as the doctor finished. She nods and exits the room. It takes about 4 hours for me to start to notice a difference. I could feel my wolf ever so slightly. she's in my mind but she's very weak. I must find a way to help her heal and get stronger without hurting myself or the twins but for now I'll have the doctor come check on us. "Jasper go get the doctor please. She's back. My wolf but she's extremely weak. She can't heal though." I say as Jasper jumps from his chair and runs out to get the doctor. "Hey there how's my favorite patient?" asked the doctor as she came into the room. She looks very tired but hopefully we can get my wolf back to normal. So, then I can get back to normal myself. The doctor does a very thorough check up and goes over to the book and turns to a different page and reads a couple then walks back over. "Ok. The book says I need to pump you full of all the good stuff. Vitamins, protein, and work outs to help you and your wolf get stronger. But in your case, you'll need extra vitamins and extra protein. So, let's get you full of all of that and then we'll take you for a nice walk to the treadmill and we'll do some lite arm exercises as well." The doctor says as she goes over to the door as a nurse walk into the room and hands her everything she needs. She walks back over and starts assessing the needles as that would be the fastest way for me to get everything into my system. She looks at me for permission to inject the fluids. I nod in agreement. Jasper sits up into his chair and starts rubbing tiny circles onto the back of my hand to keep me calm. I hate needles. I'm glad I have Jasper by my side. "Thank you doctor." Jasper says, never looking away from me. "Anytime we'll have to do a few rounds for her to start getting her strength back before she can start with the workouts" The doctor said as she left the room.
