Chapter 5

Lena's Pov “What are you doing here?! Get out!” I scrambled to take my shirt and pressed it against my chest, hiding my breasts. The Doctor didn't move, he just kept on staring at me, his eyes wide with shock. “Get out! Please!” I yelled again, my voice trembling this time as tears started to gather at the corner of my eyes. Why wasn't he moving? Why?! “What's going on? Why is my new roommate crying?” The other two came into the room with smirks on their faces, however, the moment they saw me, the smirks they had were wiped off from their faces. “What the heck is this?” The Lucas questioned, his voice cold and dry, “Who did this to you?” I froze, clutching my shirt tighter as their gazes bore into me. The Green-Eyed Alpha’s question hung in the air, his tone sharp and demanding. “It’s nothing.” I muttered, trying to pull the blinds shut again to shield myself from their prying eyes. “Nothing?” Adrian’s voice was low, laced with disbelief as his gaze roved over my bruised and scarred skin, “You call this nothing?” Lucas stepped closer, his movements slow and deliberate, “Sit down.” He said firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument. “I don’t need your help.” I snapped, my voice cracking under the weight of embarrassment and anger. “We’re not asking.” Lucas said, his jaw clenched, “You’re going to sit down, and he’s going to treat you. You’re not spreading whatever this is to us.” “Spreading…?!” I began, but the words caught in my throat as I saw the genuine concern in their eyes, especially the doctor’s. Reluctantly, I sat on the edge of the bed, my shirt still clutched in my hands. The other two Alphas exchanged a glance before stepping back. “We’ll give you some space.” Adrian said, his voice softer now, “But this isn’t over, Lena.” The two of them left, closing the door behind them. The room fell into silence, save for the faint rustle of the blinds swaying as Lucas moved closer. “Turn around.” He said gently, holding up a medical kit he’d retrieved from his coat. I hesitated, my pride warring with my need for care. Finally, I shifted to face away from him, letting my shirt fall to my lap. He worked silently at first, his hands surprisingly gentle as he cleaned the cuts and applied ointment to the bruises. The sting was sharp but bearable. “Thank you.” I murmured, my voice barely audible as he began wrapping bandages around my torso. His hands paused for a moment before continuing, “You don’t have to thank me.” I bit my lip, the words spilling out before I could stop them, “It’s nothing to think about… just something that happens when you’re an omega. We don’t heal as fast, so it takes longer to get over things like this.” His hands stilled completely this time, and I felt the tension radiating from him. “You shouldn’t have to deal with this.” He said quietly, his voice tight with restrained emotion. “It’s just how things are.” I replied, shrugging as if it didn’t matter. “Stop.” He chastised me softly. This Alpha was very soft spoken, even his expressions were soft and calm. Unlike the Green Eyed one that looked so rough and had a more dangerous kind of handsomeness, this one had softer looks and a calming aura. “It’s just the truth. You are an Alpha so you might not understand what Omega's have to go through at the hands of others.” His hands froze, and I felt the weight of his silence pressing down on me. The air between us thickened, the calm aura he carried wavering. “I don’t need to be an Omega to know this isn’t right.” Lucas finally said, his voice low but firm, “No one… Omega or not, deserves to go through something like this.” I didn’t reply. What was the point? It wasn’t like he could change anything. He resumed his work, his touch careful and precise as he wrapped the bandages around me. I focused on the rhythm of his movements, trying to ignore the warmth of his hands against my skin or the strange stirring in my chest every time his fingers brushed me. “What happened to you?” He asked after a long silence, his voice softer now, almost hesitant. “It’s nothing to think about, you don't have to concern yourself about it.” I replied, my back still turned to him, “Just something to get used to as an Omega. This is how the world is for us, you can't change it despite the fact that you're an Alpha. I am not even a part of your pack.” I sighed deeply, shaking my head. “What if I wanted to change it? Would you accept it?” The sentence he uttered was soft but carried a weight that silenced me. Before I could say anything else, I felt something warm press against my back, a kiss. My entire body froze, heat flooding my cheeks as my wolf stirred within me, responding to the unexpected contact. “W… What… What the heck are you doing?” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper. He didn’t answer right away. When he finally spoke, his voice was low and full of certainty, “Mate.” The word sent a jolt through me, and I turned to face him, my heart pounding so loudly I was sure he could hear it. “Mate?” I echoed, my voice trembling. “What are you talking about? Are you joking with me?” His eyes darkened, the calm professionalism he’d shown earlier melting away as something more primal took its place. Before I could say another word, his lips were on mine, silencing any protest. The kiss was firm yet gentle, commanding and full of emotion. When he pulled back, his eyes locked onto mine, his voice a mix of dominance and promise, “Brace yourself, Lena. Your life is about to change.”
