Chapter 14 – The Nanny’s Eyes
EVA P.O.V
"Irina!"
"Yes, Miss Eva?"
"Is Lucas back yet?"
"No, Miss Eva."
"Okay… have you finished cleaning all the rooms?"
"Yes."
"Change the sheets too?"
"We’ve already done that."
"Good."
"Where’s Pat?"
"She’s in the laundry room."
I nodded slowly, pressing my hands together in front of me. "Don’t worry, girls. You’ve done everything exactly as I asked."
Just then, I heard the sound of the door unlocking. Lucas walked in, shoulders heavy, exhaustion in his steps.
"Hi, Eva," he said quietly.
"Hi, son." My voice softened. I had known him since the day he was born, and even now—grown man, powerful, respected—he would always be my boy. "Are you alright?"
