1247 Words
Just a few days after they got their powers Christine hears some bad news from home… “Christine, I’ve come with a troubled heart and I got bad news for you.” Hermes flew into her room but not his worried but cheerful self. He seemed kind of sad to hear. “Have you been to the Globe Theater again? That’s not the point to tell me what the news is Hermes?”  “Your friend Sapphire…” Hermes tried to tell her the news but he almost couldn't do it “Yeah what about her… you’ve given me all her letters sound like she was alright right??” Christine was getting worried, she didn't like the way his tone was... “I’m sorry but she got into a car accident and she didn’t make it…” Hermes sometimes hated being the messenger...he didn't enjoy giving this kind of news... “What?? I just talked to her yesterday she was alive at that moment!! Send word to Antonio-send him straight to my chambers.” Angry, sad, and hurt tears fall on Christine's face when she had heard the sad news about Sapphire...she couldn't, wouldn't hear it...didn't want to believe it. “Yes, my lady… and I’m so sorry about your loss." Hermes nods and flies away… he didn't want to bring her that kind of news ever again... he sometimes didn't like to be the messenger, but someone had to tell her before she found out not nicely... While he was getting Antonio she was crying so hard… she wanted to go to Hades to get her spirit back… Antonio did that for her so why can’t she do it for Sapphire!?  “Antonio my love thank goodness you’re here.” It relieved Christine that he was here so she could have a shoulder to cry on... “Hermes didn’t tell me anything about what’s the matter my sweet rose you got tears in your eyes… something happens at home?” Antonio looked worried hoping wasn't her adoptive parents... “Hades took my best friend’s life… she died in a car accident…” Christine started crying harder if that was even possible... this hasn't been a good day for her... “Oh, hun I’m so sorry to do you want me to go down there to get her?” He tried to hug her, but she shoved him away. “NO I got to do it myself she’s my friend and wouldn’t know who to look for… I, on the other hand, have known her since middle school… I miss her so much I tried calling her yesterday after I read her letter but her mom told me she sent her to her boyfriend’s house. Plus, I need to have a little chat with Hades myself… now it's personal-when he messes with you or my family/friends then he’s going to get in so much trouble… but I know you could watch me from afar it’s how I knew how I was doing when I was unconscious for a while.” she was getting angrier and angrier with Hades. First trying to kidnap her, now he had to take her best friend?! “I know it hurts, but shouldn’t you leave the dead to Hades?”  “Not with you, my best friend, or my family… now he’s gone too far! Nobody messes with me and gets away with it!”  “And this is where I back away slowly so I don’t get hurt… alright Christine you take care of business…” Before she left-she left a note to her parents telling them what happened and saying she was going to pay Hades a little visit… and not to worry about their little girl and that she loved them very much, but when she got to the underworld, she was furious!  “Alright Hades where’s Sapphire!?” shouted Christine. “Ah, Christine I see you’ve heard about your friend’s death, of course, you did why else would you be here.” He smirks at her. “Let Sapphire go! You’re ignorant, evil, horrible, arrogant god I’ve ever met!” Christine was hurt and angry which wasn't good for a young goddess who just got her powers and couldn't control them yet. “Oh, thank you Christine you’re too kind.” Hades brushes her off and walks away. “Where’s her soul Hades? Where is it!?” shouted Christine again. “Easy, easy you don’t gotta yell… she’s having a little swim the kind of like the one you had.” She gets angrier and angrier. “You wouldn’t-“ She gritted through her teeth. “Oh yes, I would she’s right over there…” Hades gives her an evil smirk. The same one that he had given her the last time she was here. “Sapphire, I’m here!” She tried to grab her but she couldn't... “Yeah, she can’t hear you… the only way to get to her is through me…”  “Oh, you want a fight bring it on! I got a future father-in-law that’s the god of war and a mother-in-law that’s the goddess of revenge… you’ve picked a fight with the wrong goddess Hades and now you’re going to pay…” The fight lasted a few hours… blood everywhere, few scratches here and there. Hades got punched in the face. Christine had a few scratches but nothing too big. She was thinking Nemesis would have been so proud of her. “Alright I cry uncle… you can have your friend back.” Hades was squished with Christine's foot on top of his face... “Oh, by the way, Nemesis taught me a few moves… as part of my training… I knew I’d make her proud.” She rushed to the pool, grabbed her soul, and took her home so Apollo can help her.  “Christine what a fight I haven’t seen you fight like that! Hades so had it coming!” Nemesis was so proud of her but a little sad that she had to use her training.  “Thanks, Nemesis I knew you’d be proud. Good thing you showed me a few moves. Hades so messed with the wrong goddess.” Christine felt proud of what she did but hoped that was going to be her last encounter with Hades. “How’s your friend doing? Is she going to be alright?” asked Nemesis worriedly.   “Yeah, I left her in expert hands… my dad’s, if he can’t help her then she’s gone…” She smiled at her mentor and friend as Christine thought of her dad taking care of Sapphire. “Of course, she’s in expert hands if she’s with your dad.” Nemesis tried to give her a reassuring smile. Trying to comfort Christine. “I know I just hope she’s alright… you think she’ll be able to stay?” Christine curiously and a little hopeful asked her. She couldn't send Sapphire home looking like this... so weak... “Yeah with some convincing that she won’t tell anyone who you are…” Nemesis was worried that this mortal would spread the word of them. “She can keep a secret… I’ve told her secrets that I know she has told no one.” Christine smiles confidently about Sapphire keeping her word. “Well, don’t tell me… you got to tell Zeus and the others…” said Nemesis nodding towards his door. “Alright, that shouldn’t be hard…”
