Chapter 10 the talk with Zeus

When Antonio went to check on Christine, she was fast asleep. He smiles and caresses her cheek gently trying not to wake her.

“Aww she’s so peaceful I’d hate to wake her up. I know the perfect way to wake her up.” He goes up to her and kisses her cheek and puts a red rose on her nightstand. 

“Well, hi to you to Antonio.” She smiles at him as she sees the gifts.

“You feel better after what you’ve been through?” He asks her worriedly.

“Yeah, I feel better after what Hades did… evil Hades…” She cringed as she remembers what happened.

“We know that, but glad you’re feeling better oh Zeus wants to talk to you not sure why, but I can keep you company.” He gives her a shy smile as she looks at him in shock. 

“Oh, ok well we don’t want to keep Zeus waiting longer than he has to… come on let's go.” Since Antonio didn’t know if Christine was stable enough to walk on her own, so he carried her which she didn’t mind at all. Antonio was around 6ft so she was small compared to him… small enough to be carried so she could rest her head on his chest while on the way there she fell asleep while in his arms… eventually, he had to wake her up for their talk with Zeus.

“Christine… wake up we’re here I hate to wake you up, but I have to.” Antonio tried to wake her up as gently as he could.

“If I must.” Christine was waking up just in time since they were right in front of Zeus' house.

“Yes, you must Christine come on Zeus is waiting for us,” Antonio tells her impatiently.

“Alright, I’m awake wonder what Zeus wants to tell us.” Christine was curious about what Zeus wanted. She had never seen him before, besides in books and some movies. Both of which she thought couldn't be really true to what he looked like. 

“I’m not sure, but we’ll find out.” Both were a little nervous about talking to Zeus, but they tried to remain calm about it.

“Ah, Antonio and Christine, just the two I wanted to see. Never mind Hermes you don’t have to go looking for them…” Zeus called to Hermes who was about to go looking for them, but luckily they got to Zeus before Hermes' service was needed.

“It’s nice to see you, Zeus,” said Christine with a small shy smile.

“Ah glad you’re feeling better Christine! Looks like you gained some rose back to you which is always good.” Zeus smiled as well trying to make her comfortable and at ease around him. He may be in charge but he doesn't have to be this scary being that everyone has to be afraid of.

“Thank you, Zeus, and yes I am feeling better.” 

“Well, that’s only part of why I called you here. To see if Christine is alright and to tell you both how happy and proud all of us are for what you did at Hade’s lair. We all think that you deserve to stay here as full gods.” It overwhelmed both with joy. Christine couldn’t help herself but cry. Antonio just hugged her as tightly as he could with joy to comfort her.

“Thank you so much, Zeus! We won’t let you or the others down.” Christine cried tears of joy. She was hoping to get her full power someday but didn't think that it would actually happen!

“I know you two won’t and to make it official I’ll finally get to give you your full power… to the both of you.” Zeus smiled at them proudly. Both were excited to get their full powers but curious about what they would be.

 “Course ladies first so Christine if you would come with me to get your power.” Christine was beaming with happiness trying not to squeal in excitement.

“Of course, Zeus I’ve waited so long for us to get our powers.” She stepped forward a little nervous but was excited about it too.

“You don’t have to wait any longer Christine since I’ll give you your power but warning you gods to accept their power differently than others.” 

“Alright, Zeus now I’m ready to accept my power.” Zeus closes his eyes as he summons the powers. The room shakes and Christine and Antonio try to hold on to something to keep their balance. As Zeus was giving her power, she felt a little queasy, but she was alright. “Nicely handled Christine. Now your turn Antonio if you please come forward.” 

“Yes, Zeus do what you need to do.” Like Christine, he also felt queasy, but no harm went to him. Zeus wasn't as dramatic as Christine, but it still shook the room.

“Nicely handled Antonio now the deed is done, but there's more news that I would like to tell you, Antonio. Your parents did not tell you this news since I told them I would tell you. You have a brother named Kostos.” Zeus says so nonchalantly but Antonio was confused.

“A brother?? Wish that news could've been said sooner, when can I see him, and sir how would we know what our powers will be like?” Antonio wished they would've told him while he was there. "That's definitely worth saying

“Patience young god it will take time.”
