When she was well enough to have visitors, Apollo allowed them to have a brief reunion.
“Christine is that really you?!” Sapphire hugged Christine tightly missing her so much! She hadn't seen her in months and wondered why she didn't come back to school after their holiday break.
“Yeah it is Sapphire… come on and give me a hug I’ve missed you!” Christine of course hugged her back and missed her too.
“I’ve missed you too Christine… and I owe you my life… if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here right now” Sapphire shuddered at the thought of still being down in that pool of dead people.
“Oh, it was nothing I just had to fight Hades… guess you figured out my biggest secret… I’m a goddess… and that was my real dad who was taking care of you.” Christine blushed as she told Sapphire what had happened. Sapphire was shocked by this big secret, and she had sorta known that something was up but not this.
“That explains a lot… but you’ve always been special to me.” Sapphire smiled but deep down she was shocked
“Thanks, Sapphire… I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you too… but I haven’t shown you the best part.” Of course, she had to show off her ring while she was with her.
“You got engaged!? Who’s the lucky guy!? Come on girl details!” Sapphire squealed with excitement and happiness for her friend.
“His name is Antonio… he’s like me he’s a god too… his parents are the gods of war and revenge. He’s a musician, sweet, kind, my hero… if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here either.”
“Oooh, you got it bad Christine! He sounds just right for you… I want to meet him!”
“Alright let me get Hermes," Clears her throat and shouts, "HERMES!”
“Yes, my lady, oh I see your dad did his magic on your friend, what’s your message?” Hermes smiled and was happy to see Christine back to her normal self again.
“Tell Antonio to come to my chambers. I need to see him when he’s done with his archery lesson with my dad.”
“Yes, my lady.” He bows and flies away leaving the girls alone again
“Oooh, you get treated like a queen here! No wonder you didn’t come back I wouldn’t either!” Sapphire laughed as Hermes left.
“I know it’s the perks of being the daughter of a god. I do remember is one goddess moping around saying along the lines of ‘I miss my daughter’ or ‘I want my daughter back’ silly since I don’t think she even has a daughter!”
“That’s kind of funny, but who’s the goddess?” asked Sapphire curiously
“Eris goddess of chaos and discord, I think she’s a troublemaker and trying to do it for attention.” She scrunched her nose as she said Eris' name.
“Really, Christine is that what you think of me?”
“Hi, Eris… Sapphire, Eris, Eris my friend Sapphire…” Christine blushed as she realized Eris was right behind her...
“Nice to meet you… but it seems like I know you from somewhere…” Sapphire was confused about why she knew her.
“Sapphire you did your English project on her… remember or did Hades take a chunk of your memory along with your soul?” Christine joked with her.
“Right I did… but besides the project, I feel like I know you.” Sapphire looked at her curiously, and that feeling of I somehow know you but can't quite put my finger on it.
“Well, young one when’s your birthday?” asked Eris curiously
“September 13, 1992, I’m 3 days older than Christine…”
“Right… wait the 13th? That’s right I had a girl on Friday the 13th…” Eris looks dazed as she recalls the day fondly.
“Whoa wait a minute!? I might be your long-lost daughter?! My parents didn’t tell me I was adopted…” Sapphire is now in shock, she didn't expect this kind of news today. This is beginning to get too much for Sapphire.
“The gods are very protective about their kids and they don’t tell them until they figure it out on their own,” Christine whispers to her.
“Thanks for the tip, Christine…” Sapphire tells her annoyed.
“Yup you’re definitely my daughter anyone who’s just as mischievous as I have to be besides I’ve been watching you in the mortal world.” Eris smiles mischievously at her.
“No wonder I felt like I was being watched I thought it was Christine…” Sapphire let a shiver go down her spine as she recalled the memories of being watched.
“Nope, it was me come along Sapphire we must catch up.” Eris was beaming with pride.
“Ok sure, but I want to meet Christine’s fiance.” Sapphire was curious about this guy who was smitten with her friend.
“Alright, but I’ll be at my temple if you need me,” Eris smirks one more time.
“I’ll see you later… bye," Eris disappears into thin air. "That’s weird.” Christine just looked confused at the conversation that just happened.
“Yeah, that kind of is weird… but it explains a lot…” Sapphire was freaking out about what just happened, but also kind of excited about it.
“Thanks, Christine. I just find out that I’m a goddess too… well stranger things have happened in the past… but this is definitely on the top of my weird events list.” Sapphire shrugs her shoulders trying not to freak out.
“Yeah mine too but it's sweet since you can stay as long as Zeus says it’s alright.” Christine smiles as she thinks of her friend staying.
“Oh… well I don’t think that should be hard.” Sapphire smiles.
“Well, it’s about time you came," Christine kisses him, "Sapphire this is Antonio, Antonio this is my best friend Sapphire.” Christine smiles as her old life merges with the new.
“Ah, so you’re the one who Christine saved from Hades… well glad you’re alright.” Antonio smiles.
“Yes, that’s me, but I just found out I’m a goddess to the daughter of Eris.” Sapphire blushes as she tells him.
“So, you’re the daughter she’s been talking about… glad to have you home.” Antonio gives her a small hug to welcome her.
“I guess it’s good, but it’d been nice to know about it… instead of leaving me in the dark.” Sapphire looks down on the ground. Pretending to be fascinated with her nails.
“I know it’s hard Sapphire but trust me it gets better in time! I mean you saw how Hermes treated me… that can be you, eventually.” Christine gives her a reassuring smile.
“And that looked pretty sweet… why not I can give this a try.” Sapphire smiles at them willing to give all this craziness a chance.
