Chapter 5

**** josh P.O.V****

“Alpha the vampire has taken Summerstar”, Erik said through the mind link.

“Where did they go?” I said back.

“I don’t know. They were talking and he said he wanted to take her someplace where they couldn’t hear them. And she was on his back and he ran away with her.”

“What are you doing? Go find them!” Okay, now I’m mad! What in the hell? When I find him, I’m going to kill him! If he hurts her, I’m going to kill him, bring him back to just do it again. I told him not to go near her. I ran outside and shifted into my wolf. Jacob is big and black and he is mad too.

I run and I sniff them out. I run as fast as I can, but he is too fast for me. I caught up to where they were and I growled and howled. I start running again and I get their scent again and I start following it. It leads back to her house. I really hope they are there and he didn’t steal my mate. I started pounding on the door. I can feel that they are both here, but that doesn’t make me feel any better. “ What’s wrong? Why do you look mad?” start asks.

“Please get out of my way, so I need to talk to Steven.” I said, trying not to be rude to Star. She moves out of the way slowly so I can go inside.

“I TOLD YOU TO NOT TOUCH HER! WHERE IN THE HELL DID YOU TAKE HER?” I yelled at Steven.

“Please control your temper in front of our lady. I meant no harm. I just wanted her to know what I’m and who she is.” You meant no harm my ass! Our lady? Oh, f**k no he didn’t!

“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TELL HER WHAT SHE IS SHE NEEDS TO FIND OUT ON HER OWN!” I yelled.

“Please stop fighting! I can't take this. He didn’t tell me anything. I did know I’m a werewolf, you’re the alpha heir and your father is the alpha of the blue moon pack.”, Star said, trying to defuse the situation.

“How do you know who my father is?” I asked. I'm trying hard not to take my anger out on her.

“I have talked with my parents and they said I was a werewolf and you said yesterday that your dad was the general of the city and I’m not stupid. I read and watch enough werewolf books to know your dad isn’t the general of the city and that he is the alpha. Soon to be my alpha.”

“I never called you stupid. I just didn’t know your family told you everything. That’s why I didn’t tell you who I was. Yes, I’m the heir to the alpha of the blue moon pack.”

“So do vampires and werewolves really hate each other?” I looked at Steven, then back to her.

“We do not hate each other, but we do not like each other. We have to tolerate each other, but the brown family and the blue moon have a treaty.”

“Why can't we all just be friends? I don’t want you guys fighting. I like you both.”

“We will try and be better at not fighting in front of you, but he can't touch you.” I’m not willing to put our differences away just for my mate.

“Why can't he touch me? He is my friend and I like him.” I started to get very angry again.

“What do you mean you LIKE him? You don’t understand anything about us werewolves, do you?” I’m trying hard to keep my wolf inside and not come out. He is just scratching and pushing to get out to kill the vile dead thing.

“I like him. He has been my friend since we were kids and I want to be with him. It feels right, but being with you feels right too.”

“You can't like us both and feel right about being with us. The US will never work. You have a mate that is waiting for you somewhere.”

“Summer, he is trying to tell you you can't have both of us. It's hard for me to say this, but he and his wolf are your mates. You have to choose between being with a vampire or being with a werewolf. There is no in between, I’m sorry,” Steven says. What is this punk thinking? He can't say stuff like that.

“YOU CAN'T TELL HER I’M HER MATE. SHE IS TO FIND OUT WHEN SHE SHIFTS AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT I’M THINKING? YOU ARE NOT APART OF MY PACK!” I need to be careful with what I’m thinking if he can read minds like, I think.

“I can read minds. It's one of my abilities to be a vampire and I didn’t know she needed to find out on her own.” Steven says. I knew it. I know werewolves and vampires have different abilities, but sometimes they can be the same.

“How do you know I’m your mate? I don’t know how you know. I don’t even know who my mate is.” Well, the cat out of the bag might as well tell her. She will find out in a week.

“My Wolf told me the first time I met you. Since the cat is out of the bag, I will tell you. You are going to be the Luna of the Blue Moon pack. Unless you choose this i***t. But I won't let that happen, not without a fight.”

“No not fighting, can you have more than one mate?” Haha funny not fighting my ass! I will be nice tonight, but that’s the end of that.

“Not that I have heard of. I only know of people having one mate, but because you are my mate, I cannot hurt or kill you.” I don’t know what to think anymore. Can we have more than one mate? I will talk with one of the elders when I get home.

“Are you sure about only one mate? Because I feel the same pull for both of you. It’s the same.”

“I will look into it, but I don’t think so. If so, the moon goddess is a messed-up goddess.” I hate the moon goddess!

“I will look into it as well. The moon goddess is not trying to ruin anything, mates are a blessing from her.” Haha blessing to be mated to a vampire? How does she all of a sudden know so much about the moon goddess?

“How do you know so much about the moon goddess if you are not from a pack and your parents have kept you sheltered?”

“Like I said, I read a lot of books.” There is something different about her that I can't put my finger on.

“The party has already started? Are we late?” Sam said.

“No, they wanted to hang with me before the party,” Star said.

“Can you guys please help bring in everything?” Joan asks.

“We will help.” We all said and got up.

We all helped to put the stuff where they needed to go and when we were done, we left to go pick up more people, since the party starts at 1pm

“I’m going to pick up Brookes,” Steven said.

“I’m going to go pick up Mark, Daniel and Erik.” I spoke.

“Okay, bye see you guys in about an hour,” Star said.

I left to go pick up my beta, gamma, and delta.

**** stevens POV****

I went to Stars house early because I want to tell her my big secret and see if I can get her to leave with me. Yet I know if I do that I will be hunted down and killed by the mutts. I rang the doorbell. Summer opens the door.

“Good morning, Steven. What are you doing here so early?”

“I wanted to see the birthday girl and spend some time with you before the party starts. I don’t know the next time I will see you.”

“What do you mean? I’m moving next week.” Before she could say anymore, I smashed my lips into hers.

“I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that. I have something I need to tell you. Summer I love you! I want you to leave with me before the end of the week so we can move far away and get married.”

“Wait what? You love me?”

“I have always loved you but was too scared to tell you. Plus, I have a secret to tell you.” I love knowing what she is thinking.

“What is it?”

“ Let's go outside and a little further away from here.”

“Why should we talk here? No one is here.” Her wolf scenes haven't kicked in yet she can't even hear or smell them.

“There are people watching your every move.”

“What do you mean?”

“Jump on my back and I will take you somewhere special so we can be alone.”

She jumped on my back and I started running and I was using my vampire speed and the trees were just rushing by super-fast.

“Where are we going?”

Just as she was saying that, I bent down and let her jump off. This is my special place by the waterfall and we are high in the mountains away from everyone. She walks to the waterfall and I follow her and I sit next to it and I put my arm around her shoulders and scoot her closer to me.

“This is my spot where I go to relax when I have too much going on in my life.”

“ It's pretty. I love it.”

“I know you are not human and I’m not either.”

“What are you talking about? Are you a werewolf? How do you know I’m not human?”

“We don’t have much time before they find us and I don’t want them to hear any more than they already have. No, I’m not a werewolf like you. I have always known you were a werewolf, but that doesn’t matter to me. I’m a vampire.” I leaned over and kissed her forehead.

“How do you know I’m a wolf? I haven’t told anyone.”

“Us super natural beings can smell or since it. It’s faint but it's there.”

“Why didn’t you ever tell me any of this?” Sadly, I couldn’t tell you. I was scared you would freak out.

“You weren’t ready and we are not allowed to tell humans anything, but I knew when I saw you. You were not a human, but I was told by my family not to say anything until you shifted. But I was told you kind of knew. We need to get out of here. They are getting close. I will take you back home.” She hops on my back again while he uses super speed to get us back home.

“Is Brookes a vampire or a werewolf?”

“Sadly, no, she is human. But don’t tell her anything. There is a rule that if a human finds out about any of our kind, they are killed or bitten by whoever they meet and turn into them. But it's not a good idea to do it.”

“Okay, I won't tell Brookes anything.” We got back home and I dropped her off at her house. We go inside and watch TV and we cuddle. There was a loud bang on the door. She gets off the couch and opens the door. I already know how it is from the smell of a mutt and his stupid thoughts.

“ What’s wrong. Why do you look mad?” summer asked.

“Please move out of my way get I need to talk to Steven,” Josh said. f**k please don’t let the mutt in and she moves out of the way slowly so josh can come inside. Great, now I have to deal with him and his anger.

We all help get the stuff in the house. Her mom starts putting it all away while we bring in everything.

“I’m going to pick up Brookes.” I spoke.

“I’m going to go pick up Mark, Daniel and Erik,” Josh said. Great more mutts for the party. Summer isn’t a mutt to me, she is my summer. I just don’t like other wolves.

“Okay, bye see you guys in about an hour,” Summer says.
