Chapter 4

**** summerstar P.O.V****

~~dream~~

I wake up in the same forest. I walked up the same path and found the small little cottage. I knocked on the door.

“Come in, my child. I have been waiting for you.” I opened the door and I saw my mother over a small pond splashing at the water. She turns to me and walks away from it and goes to the table.

“Come sit.” I sat next to her.

“What did you want to talk about?” “I just wanted to see you.”

“ Summerstar, I know that’s not the truth.”

“What really happened to you? How did you and my father die?”

“We were attacked by rogues and they wanted us for our power. I knew this was going to happen so I gave you to Joan and Sam. I can see the future, but it's not always what comes true. They looked for you but they couldn’t. Your dad put a protection spell on you that will make it so no one knows you are a werewolf and that you are human. 15 years now, almost 16 years, the spell is starting to wear off and you can kind of smell that you are a werewolf.”

“How can I see my father?”

“Sadly, the only way to see him is if you are close to dyeing.”

“I swear to me if you try and kill yourself. I will take you back to kill you!” I started laughing.

“How will I control my power? What will my wolf look like? Do I have a wolf?”

“Slow down please! I gave Joan and Sam a note. I told them what pack to go in. They have people that will help you. They have hybrids kind of like you. When you go to the pack you will be trained a little differently from the other pack members, but you will do pack training as well. Yes, you have a wolf and I know how she looks, but you can't show anyone. Only your mate. You will see her when she awakens and you shift.”

“Who is my mate? Is he a good person?”

“I cannot tell you. I’m sorry my child, but things are going to change and they are going to change fast.”

“What can you tell me?”

“I can't tell you much. Because if I do, it could change the future, so I can't tell you everything. You need to go and start your day. Please be safe. I love you and you are growing up to be a perfect woman. Joan and Sam have done a good job.”

“I love you mom. Thank you for telling me what you could.” With that, things started to vanish and I woke up.

I brush my teeth and leave my pj’s on and go downstairs.

“Good morning mom and dad.”

“Good morning,” they said in unison.

“We need to go to the store to get everything ready for the party today. What kind of food do you want?”

“I want grilled steak, I want it on the grill. Cake, I want chocolate with raspberry filling.”

“ That’s my little princess. I should have known what you wanted.” Mom and dad got up and got to the car to go to the store to get everything for the party. I open the fridge to get the milk and I go to the cupboard and get the pops and a bowl. I put it in the bowl and start eating while turning on the TV to find something to watch. I finally put on Jerry Springer and watched the drama unfold. I finish my bowl of cereal and put the dirty bowl in the sink. I heard the doorbell. I look at the time. It’s only 10am. My party doesn’t start until 1pm. I went and opened the door and I saw Steven.

“Good morning, Steven. What are you doing here so early?”

“I wanted to see the birthday girl and spend some time with you before the party starts. I don’t know the next time I will see you.”

“What do you mean? I’m moving next week.” Before I could say anything else, he smashed his lips on mine. I don’t even try and fight. I have wanted this for so long. I have always had a crush on him. I kissed him back. “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done that. I have something I need to tell you.” What is going on? My life is already crazy enough right now.

“Summer, I love you! I want you to leave with me before the end of the week so we can move far away and get married.”

“Wait what? You love me?”

“I have always loved you but was too scared to tell you. Plus, I have a secret to tell you.” Oh my goddess, what is this secret? What more can go wrong in my life?

“What is it?”

“ Let's go outside and a little farther away from here.” Why father away? I’m alone.

“Why should we talk here? No one is here.”

“There are people watching your every move.” What people are watching my every move? What is happening?

“What do you mean?”

“Jump on my back and I will take you somewhere special so we can be alone.”

I jump on his back and he starts running and he isn’t using human speed. The trees are just rushing by super-fast.

“Where are we going?” just as I was saying that, he bends down and lets me jump off. I see the most waterfalls and we are high in the mountains, away from everyone. I walk to the waterfall and sit next to it. He follows me and sits next to me and puts his arm around my shoulder and I scoot closer.

“This is my spot where I go to relax when I have too much going on in my life.”

“ It's pretty. I love it.”

“I know you are not human and I’m not either.”

“What are you talking about? Are you a werewolf? How do you know I’m not human?”

“We don’t have much time before they find us and I don’t want them to hear any more than they already have. No, I’m not a werewolf like you. I have always known you were a werewolf, but that doesn’t matter to me. I’m a vampire.” Wait, what vampire and can read minds? What is going on here? He leans over and kisses my forehead.

“How do you know I’m a wolf? I haven’t told anyone.”

“Us super natural beings can smell or since it. It’s faint but it's there.” I don’t know what to say. I’m more surprised that my best friend was a vampire and kept it from me for so long.

“Why didn’t you ever tell me any of this?”

“You weren’t ready and we are not allowed to tell humans anything, but I knew when I saw you. You are not a human but I was told by my family not to say anything until you shift. But I was told you kind of knew. We need to get out of here. They are getting close. I will take you back home.” I hopped on his back again while he used super speed to get us back home.

“Is Brookes a vampire or a werewolf?”

“Sadly, no, she is human. But don’t tell her anything. There is a rule that if a human finds out about any of our kind, they are killed or bitten by whoever they meet and turn into them. But it's not a good idea to do it.”

“Okay, I won't tell Brookes anything.” We get back home and he drops me off at my house. We go inside and watch TV and we cuddle. I don’t know why, but I’m okay with this. This feels right. I know in books vampires and wolves don’t get along, but maybe that’s just in the books. Maybe in real life they get along just fine.

There was a loud bang on the door. Great what now? I got off the couch and opened the door to see a very angry josh.

“ What’s wrong. Why do you look mad?” I asked.

“Please move out of my way. I need to talk to Steven.” Josh said, trying not to be rude to me. I move out of the way slowly so josh can come inside.

“I TOLD YOU TO NOT TOUCH HER! WHERE IN THE HELL DID YOU TAKE HER?” Josh yells at Steven.

“Please control your temper in front of our lady. I meant no harm. I just wanted her to know what I’m and who she is.”

“YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TELLING HER WHAT SHE IS SHE NEEDS TO FIND OUT ON HER OWN!” josh yells.

“Please stop fighting! I can't take this. He didn’t tell me anything. I did know I’m a werewolf, you’re the alpha heir and your father is the alpha of the blue moon pack.” I said, trying to defuse the situation.

“How do you know what and who my father is?” Josh asked.

“I have talked with my parents and they said I was a werewolf and you said yesterday that your dad was the general of the city and I’m not stupid. I read and watch enough werewolf books to know your dad isn’t the general of the city and that he is the alpha. Soon to be my alpha.”

“I never called you stupid. I just didn’t know your family told you everything. That’s why I didn’t tell you who I was. Yes, I’m the heir to the alpha of the blue moon pack.”

“So do vampires and werewolves really hate each other?” Josh looked at Steven, then back to me.

“We do not hate each other, but we do not like each other. We have to tolerate each other, but the brown family and blue moon have a treaty.”

“Why can't we all just be friends? I don’t want you guys fighting. I like you both.”

“We will try and be better at not fighting in front of you, but he can't touch you.” Josh does look happy to say that, but it looks like he might change for me.

“Why can't he touch me? He is my friend and I like him.”

“What do you mean you LIKE him? You don’t understand anything about us werewolves, do you?”

“I like him. He has been my friend since we were kids and I want to be with him. It feels right, but being with you feels right too.” I am just confused. I liked them both. This isn’t good.

“You can't like us both and feel right about being with us. The US will never work. You have a mate that is waiting for you somewhere.”

“Summer, he is trying to tell you you can't have both of us. It's hard for me to say this, but he and his wolf are your mates. You have to choose between being with a vampire or being with a werewolf. There is no in between, I’m sorry.” Steven says.

“YOU CAN'T TELL HER I’M HER MATE. SHE IS TO FIND OUT WHEN SHE SHIFTS AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT I’M THINKING? YOU ARE NOT APART OF MY PACK!” I can see Josh has anger problems, but not at me.

“I can read minds. It's one of my abilities to be a vampire and I didn’t know she needed to find out on her own.” Steven says.

“How do you know I’m your mate? I don’t know how you know. I don’t even know who my mate is.”

“My wolf told me the first time I met you. since the cat out of the bag, I will tell you. You are going to be the Luna of the Blue Moon pack. Unless you choose this i***t. But I won't let that happen, not without a fight.”

“No, not fighting. Can you have more than one mate?”

“Not that I have heard of. I only know of people having one mate, but because you are my mate I cannot hurt or kill you.”

“Are you sure about only one mate? Because I feel the same pull for both of you. It’s the same.”

“I will look into it but I don’t think so, if so, the moon goddess is one messed up goddess.” I will try and talk with mom tonight after the party and try and get some answers from her.

“I will look into it as well. The moon goddess is not trying to ruin anything, mates are a blessing to her.”

“How do you know so much about the moon goddess if you are not from a pack and your parents have kept you sheltered?”

“Like I said, I read a lot of books.” I’m not going to tell him the truth. Mom and dad finally got back with everything.

“The party has already started? Are we late?” dad says.

“No, they wanted to hang with me before the party,” I said.

“Can you guys please help bring in everything?” mom asks.

“We will help.” We all said and got up.

Finally, something to get my mind off my problems! I’m tired of hearing everything. I just want to get this done and over with. I helped get the stuff in the house. My mom started putting it all away while we brought in everything. “I’m going to pick up Brookes.” Steven said.

“I’m going to go pick up Mark, Daniel and Erik.” Josh said.

“Okay, bye see you guys in about an hour.” I spoke.

“You need to go get ready. We even got you new clothes for the party. They are in the bag by the stairs,” mom said.

“I need to talk to you.”

“What is it, dear?”

“Steven is a vampire and Josh is a werewolf. They do not get along. Steven said" Josh is my mate. I feel that they are both my mates. Can a werewolf have two mates?”

“I didn’t think Steven was a vampire. I don’t know about two mates. How do you know Steven and Josh are telling you the truth about Josh being your mate? He could be lying to get your special abilities.”

“I don’t think they are lying, I can feel it. It feels like there is this string and the further I get away from the string, it gets pulled to its limits, but when they are close, I feel the string not being pulled anymore if that makes sense. I feel a pull for both of them. Steven kissed me and it felt right. When Steven told me what josh was thinking, josh got mad and said they can't tell their mate their mates until they have shifted and their wolf says it. Steven even said he loved me and has always loved me since he met me and I was the one girl he has been searching for for all the years he has been alive.”

“I don’t understand about this string or pull thing you are talking about, since it is a werewolf thing and I’m not a werewolf yet.”

“Yet what do you mean?”

“I thought we told you when we moved, we would be turned into werewolves. It is what your mother wanted. She wanted us to you and close. Me and your dad agreed to do it. We want to be with you. We are done being keepers. It's time for us to get into a pack and settle down.”

“Are you sure this is what you both want? That seems like a lot for you guys to do for just me.”

“Baby, I told you. You are the last. We don’t want to keep giving up our kids. This way we can be together for ever. We love all our kids the same way, but you were the special one.”

“I love you mom. I’m going to get ready.”

My parents know me way too well. I put new clothes on and they went to hot topic. They got me a skull and crossbone dress and new combat boots that had skulls on them as well. I look great! I love it! I run down stairs in my new clothes and I find my mom getting the living room put together for the party. I went up behind her and hugged her.

“Thank you, mom. I love it! You know me way too well.”

“Your welcome no problem. Go thank you dad as well. He is outside getting the BBQ ready.” I go outside and I see my dad messing with the BBQ. I go up behind him just like mom and hug him.

“Thank you, dad! I love the new clothes you and mom know me way too well!”

“Your welcome sugar plum. Dad knows what his little princess likes.” I playfully slapped him.

“Why do you call me that? You know I hate both of those nicknames.

“You will always be my princess and sugar plum. They are the nicknames I have chosen for you.”

Everyone started to arrive. Josh gets out and there are 3 guys with him.

“summerstar I would like you to meet Daniel my beta, mark my gamma, and Erik my delta.” They all bow.

“Nice to meet you, Luna.” They all said.

“Please call me star. I’m not the Luna yet and one human will be here soon. Please just act like we are all friends.”

“We will do our best. We are so happy to finally meet you.” Josh comes over and puts his arm around me and kisses my forehead.

“eww you smell like death! He kissed you. I can smell him all over your lips. I’m so angry right now!”

“Please just calm down. I promise I won't let him kiss me. Just please don’t get mad.”

“I’m not mad at you, I’m mad at him. I told him not to touch you and he did it anyway!”

“Josh, please let's just try and enjoy my last party with everyone.”

“Fine, but then he is more dead than he already is. You look gorgeous! I love the dress and boots that fit you!”

“Thank you, mom and dad got them for me.” Brookes and Steven got there.

“Sorry it took so long I had to get ready.” Brookes says. Josh gives Steven the death glare. If looks could kill, Steven would be dead. The party starts. We all go to the living room and start dancing to music.

---a few hours late---

“I’m going to miss you! Once a month, we will have to have a girl's night and you spend the night there.”

“I will, Brookes, I promise. You have a good night and stay safe.”

“Have a good night Summer. I will see you around.”

“Good night Josh, Daniel, Mark, and Erik.”

“Good night star!” they all say and they all start their cars and leave. I go inside.

“Thank you, mom and dad, for the great going away and birthday party. It was great seeing everyone together and getting along, but I’m beat and going to bed. Good night.”

“Good night sweetheart, we love you and will see you tomorrow." With that I took my leave and went upstairs to go to bed.
