Chapter 3

****SummerStar P.O.V****

~~Dream~~

I woke up in a bright sunny forest. I looked around and it looked beautiful but quiet. No birds cheeping. It’s a little weird. I start to sit up, then I see this woman that kind of looks like me. She has long blonde hair that goes to her lower back and she is wearing this silk dress.

“Hello? Who are you? Where am I?” I asked. The lady turns around and smiles and starts walking away slowly. I have a feeling she wants me to follow her. I got up and started walking faster so I could catch up to her.

“Where are you going? Wait, please tell me who you are and where we are.” I said. She turns and looks at me and ushers me to follow her. She finally stops by a house. She opens the door and moves her hand for me to go inside. The house is small but pretty. There are trees all around it. We were still in the forest, but it seemed different. I walked inside and sat down. She sits next to me.

“I have been waiting a long time for this, my child. I’m your mother and the moon goddess.” Wait, what about my mom and the moon goddess? What is happening?

“Why am I here? What is happening?” I asked.

“You are asleep and you are in the moon goddess's realm.”

“ Why am I here?”

“You needed my guidance. I can't tell you much. You will find out later. I love and miss you my dear baby. How I wish I could have been there to watch you grow up. Joan and Sam Madmarsho did a good job with you.”

“What do you mean you wish you could have been there? Where have you been?”

“I have been watching over you. I have been here this whole time. I have been watching you since I died.”

“Who is my father? Where is he?”

“Your father is in the underworld where he belongs, just like me in the goddess' realm. He was a very powerful king and warlock; we were never meant to be. Your dad's name is Hades.”

“What is your name? I didn’t know until last night I was a werewolf and now you're telling me I’m a princess?”

“My name, my dear child, is Artimis and, yes, you are the princess of the underworld and the princess of the moon. Just keep in mind be careful who you become friends with and never tell anyone who you are. Joan and Sam are your real parents. If you need to get in contact with me, just think of me and I shall be there. I’m sorry my child, but I have to go. I love you and just remember I’m watching over you.” Everything slowly vanishes.

I woke up to my alarm. Yay! It’s Friday! That dream was weird… It felt so real. I will talk with mom and dad about it later. I got up and shut off my alarm. I am getting ready for school. I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. Go to my closet and get some clothes on and grab my bag and go wait for the bus.

The bus came and I waited for Brookes to stop. Brookes gets on and sits next to me.

“Good morning,” I said.

“Good morning,” Brookes says.

“I’m moving in a few weeks and it’s going to be my birthday. I’m having a small birthday and going away party Saturday and I wanted you to come.”

“Wait, what your moving? You have lived in that house with your parents since you were a baby. You can't leave my best friend!”

“Brookes, I know I will miss that house but you will still see me. I’m still going to go to school here. We are moving closer to my dad’s job.” I’m not going to tell my best friend I’m a warlock werewolf. I can't. I have read books where you are not allowed to tell people what you are.

“Do you know where you are moving? I still want to have a girls' night.”

“I will make plans once I move and get settled to have a girl's night with you, I promise.” Hopefully I can keep that promise. I don’t know what my new life will bring.

We get to school and we go to the lunch room. We sat next to Steven.

“Good morning!”

“Good morning. How are you today?”

“Not so good. I’m moving but I will be moving in a few weeks, but I will still go to school here and see you guys.”

“Why are you moving?”

“Dad got a new job but I’m having a going away and birthday party tomorrow. We have to go to class which will start soon and we all know how Mr. Smart gets when we are late.” We go to first period together.

---- later in the day ----

I get to art class and go sit in my spot and wait for josh since I can't start without him.

“Good afternoon SummerStar. How are you?” Josh asks as he sits down.

“I’m okay you? Please just call me star.”

“I heard you are moving. Do you know where to? I heard you were having a party. I was looking at whether I could go with my friends Daniel, Mark, and Erik.” wait how did he hear about me moving? I only told 2 people I didn’t want this to be a big party, but there was just something about him. My body wants to be close to him but I just meet him.

“Yes, you, but no one else. I don’t want it to be a big party.”

“ Don’t worry, it will only be the 4 of us.” I was starting to paint him again. I really enjoy this. I got to check him out without him knowing. He is very muscular and he has forest green eyes, a small button nose and a very strong jaw line, and long brown hair that is in a pony tail at the top of his head, just like last time. He tried to look the same as yesterday.

“How do you like the school?”

“it’s the same as my old one, just more kids, but the food here is gross.”

“I don’t like the food here either. I want to go to culinary school when I graduate. I love food. I’m a good cook.”

“We will have to see. I know how to cook, but I’m not the greatest. What is your favorite thing to cook?”

“I can cook a lot of different things when it’s my mom or dad's birthday. I cook their favorite foods, but my favorite thing I like to cook is chicken curry or pho.”

“You want to hang out after school? You can show me how you make pho.”

“Let me check in with my parents and I will see if we can have a small get-together today before the party.” I got out my phone and texted my mom and dad.

Me: can I have a few friends over tonight and I cook pho?

Mom: I’m fine with that, but make sure it’s okay with your dad as well. Not too many people since we have a party tomorrow.

Dad: I’m okay with that, but who’s coming?

Me: I was going to see if Brookes, Steven, and Josh could come.

I changed my messages and went to Brookes and Steven.

Me: do you guys want to come over for dinner tonight and then tomorrow we will have the party?

Brookes: Yes, sounds good! What are you cooking?

Steven: Yes, I’m coming. I love your cooking. Yes, I wouldn’t miss your party.

I closed my phone

“Everyone is okay with it. My mom and dad just do not want too many people over but the 4 of us are fine.” I said to Josh. He is zoned out.

“Hello?” and this time I waved my hand in front of his face.

“Sorry I was zoning out and okay cool. You can ride with me.”

“Can we go to the store? I wasn’t accepting to cook.”

“Yes, that’s fine. We can go after school.” the bell rings and I clean and put all my supplies away.

We headed out to the parking lot. He walks me to his car and, oh my god! He drives the nicest car I have ever seen! It's hot red fire. He opens the passenger door for me and closes it when I get in.

“What store do you want to go to? I was thinking we could go to the store my family owns.”

“Yes, that fine.”

“it’s the next town over, is that okay?” the next town over? That’s a little far. But that’s okay. It’s more time to spend with him and smell his intoxicating scent. Maybe it has something to do with me being a werewolf.

“Yes, that’s fine. How far is it?”

“About 20 minutes away.”

We got to the store and it said Blue Moon general store. What blue moon? Family store? That’s the name of the high school and the pack name my family said we are going to.

“Why does it say blue moon? I thought you just said your family owns the store and that’s the high school's name.”

“My family is wealthy and is the governor of the city and we founded this city.” He is lying just like me. I was told not to tell anyone. He is a werewolf! Maybe it would be safe to tell him.

“This is the city I will be moving to in a week.”

“So, you know what I’m doing. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you sooner.”

“I just found out last night. I haven’t shifted yet and my family wants me here so I’m not seen by humans and the secret that werewolves are real” I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders that I could finally tell someone.

“I had a feeling. I could tell by your scent but I could also smell humans on you.”

“I’m scared because I was told not to tell anyone who or what I’m.”

“The pack will love you, trust me.” he opens my door and we go into the store.

I get out my list of everything we need.

“Can you please get the stuff we need?”

“Yes sir.”

“I could have gotten it myself.”

“ Don’t worry about it. It's their job to take care of me.” they bag everything up and put it in the car.

“We forgot to pay.” “ Don’t worry, it will go on my tab.” What does he mean his tab? Why are we getting treated differently? I will just let it go. He opens my door and heads to my house.

Me: be there in about 20 minutes.

Steven: We will head there.

Mom: okay see you when you get home.

Dad: I will be there soon just getting off work.

“We should be getting there about the same time as everyone.”

“Okay cool.”

“Thank you for paying for the food and thank you for taking me.”

“No problem.”

“Do you need my address?”

“No, I know where you live.” Wait what, does he know where I live? Never mind, I’m just going to go with it. We finally got home. I go straight for the kitchen. Mom is in the kitchen.

“Mom Joan, this is josh. Josh, this is my mom, Joan.”

“Nice to meet you, Joan.”

“Nice to meet you josh. Your father should be here soon.”

“Brookes and Steven will be here soon as well.” I started getting everything ready to go so I could start cooking. I could hear the knock on the door.

“I will go get it.” Mom says.

“Hi mom!” Brookes and Steven say in unison as my mom opens the door.

“Hi Steve and Brookes. Come in, we are all in the kitchen.” Everyone called my mom. She acted like a mom.

“Brookes and Steven, this is josh. Josh, this is Steven and Brookes.” Nice to meet you Brookes and Steven.” He said with a hint if disgust when he said Steven. I could know something was off when he said Steven but I ignored it. I will talk to him about it later.

“Dinner will be in a few hours. This always takes me a bit to do.”

“Do you need help?” Josh asked me.

“No thank you. I will be fine.” dad came in and saw everyone talking.

“Hello sugar plum. Dinner smells amazing!”

“Dad, I told you not to call me that. Dad and Sam meet josh. Josh meet Sam.”

“Hello Sam, nice to meet you.” We all kept on talking and finally I got done cooking.

“Dinner is ready. I will go make the table really quickly and we can all sit and eat.”

“No, I will help you go and get the food on the table,” Josh said. I get the food on the table. We all started eating.

“ How’s the new school?” Sam asked, josh.

“ It’s a school, the same thing as my old one,” Josh said.

“We have a lot more students now and it’s hard to find places to sit at lunch. Brookes said.

“It used to not have that many kids. Small classes. Now it's big,” Steven said.

“I forgot how good of a cook you are, Star. It's better than the restaurants,” Brookes said.

“I remember you used to cook all the time saying you were going to become a chef and own your own restaurant. I love your cooking and always have,” Steven says.

“This is my first time trying your food and I have never had pho before and I love it. I need to try more of your cooking,” Josh said.

“Star is the best cook. She learned from the best Joan.” Sam said.

“Oh, stop it honey. You're embarrassing me and yes, good cook.” Joan said.

“Thank you everyone! I love to cook and I want to show everyone I can do it. And become the greatest chef ever!” I spoke.

“We should get going. It's late and thank you for the meal,” Steven said.

“I should go to Steve is my ride.” Brookes said.

“I need to go home as well. I will see you tomorrow.” Josh said. They all gave me a hug and walked outside. Josh tells Steven he needs to talk with him. They walk away and Brookes goes to his car. I walked inside and talked with my mom and dad.

“I need to talk with you.” I said to my mom and dad after I closed the door.

“What is it, baby girl?” dad asks.

“I had a weird dream about me being in a forest and meeting my mom.”

“I never said she wasn’t around, I just said she was dead. She said the time was right she would meet with you.” Mom said.

“I don’t know much, but she told me not to just trust anyone because I’m the daughter of a warlock and king of the underworld and princess of the moon goddess. She said if I need to talk with her, I can connect with her in my dreams.”

“Yes, you have to be careful. You are a very powerful werewolf. We already knew this but we were to keep quiet until she saw you.” Mom said.

“How can this be? I thought I was a normal teenager.”

“No, I’m sorry you are not a normal teenager. Nothing will be easy for you. You will find a mate and that’s the only person you should trust. People can use you for their bad intuitions. Bad things can happen if the wrong people get their hands on you,” Mom said.

“How do you know so much about me and werewolves?”

“We are keepers and werewolves trust us and that’s why we know so much, but we will be with you as much as we can.” Mom says.

“If you ever need to talk with us, we are going to be there for you,” Dad says.

“I love you guys, thank you. I’m going to go to bed so I can get ready for tomorrow. I have a big day ahead of me.” “

Good night sweaty! We love you and tomorrow will be great!” mom and dad said. I went upstairs to go to bed. I had a long day. I tried to pretend there was nothing bugging me, but there was too much going on in such a short amount of time. I go to lay down and try to let sleep take me. I’m not tired.
