Chapter 2

****Josh P.O.V ****

I walked into the new school and I smelled this sweet smell. It’s very faint, but I smell chocolate and vanilla. My wolf, Jacob, started to get restless. Stupid rouges trying to get to the kids and future alpha. I hate rogues! I now have to go to a human school. I don’t mind humans but they are super weak and I could break them if I touched them. I go to my first class, which is reading. I don’t mind reading, but I don’t want to do it for a class. My family wouldn’t let me go to any classes alone. They made my beta Daniel, and my gamma mark be in every class with me. Parents don’t want the future alpha attacked by rogues. I highly doubt that will happen we are in the human part of town. I walk to my class and the nice smell gets closer. I started to follow it and I stopped to look at the class room and I saw it was my first class of the day. I walked in and the teacher, Mr. Smart says

“I would like you to meet your new classmates. They just transferred from Blue Moon high school. They are going to introduce themselves.” I walked up to the front

“Hello, my name is Josh Bardalph. I’m 16 years old, and I like to hike.” I said.

“Hello, my name is Daniel Adalwolf. I’m 16 years old, and I like to write,” Daniel says.

“Hello, my name is Mark Acwulf. I’m 16 years old, and I like to ride bikes.”

“Thank you, Josh, Daniel, and Mark. You may sit down in any seat you see that is free and, if you please open twilight and start reading Chapter 22.” Mr. Smart said.

Wait what? Are we reading Twilight? Ha-ha, funny I live that life and,, it's way better than the book. I found a seat but the smell was overwhelming and I finally could hear Jacob yelling in my head.

“MATE!” Oh s**t! I found my mate! I really hope she isn’t human. I don’t want to go through the process of changing her into a wolf. We can do it just if it’s not the best for them and then you hope they can make the change.

“No not human. Very strong alpha female.” Jacob tells me. Why isn’t she in the pack? “

“I don’t know, but not human. She smells human and a hint of a strong wolf. She may not have shifted yet. She isn’t from our pack.” I looked around and started sniffing. I found her. Oh my goddess, I love her hair. It’s black with red strips and in a bob cut. She is wearing a falling in reverse t-shirt, black pants, and combat boots. her eyes are the coolest, one is light blue and the other is dark forest green. I’m pretending to be reading but I have been checking her out and talking to Jacob about her. I noticed she kept on looking at me and when I looked at her, she would pretend to go back to reading. It was so cute and funny she kept on blushing. Sadly, the bell rang and I got my stuff together and met back up with Mark and Daniel.

“Hey, guess what? I found my mate.” I mind linking to both of them. They looked confused.

“What do you mean you found your mate?” Daniel asked.

“Is she human?” Mark asked.

“it’s the girl in all black with two different colored eyes. Now she is not human. Jacob said she hadn’t shifted yet. That would mean she is 15 years old.” I mind linking them.

“Why isn’t she in our pack?” Daniel asked.

“I don’t. Maybe she is in another pack. But I didn’t smell another wolf on her, I smelled humans. We had better get to our next class before we are late.” I said back to them, threw the link and closed it. We walked to our next class. It went by fast and next was lunch.

We got the horrible food this school severed. At the other school, we had healthy food. I started to use my smell to find my mate. It didn’t take long for me to find her. I didn’t sit with her because I didn’t want to be weird, so I sat at a table behind her to watch her. The only bad thing is I smell a vampire. I haven’t tried to look for it because we are not the best friends, but we do have a treaty with them and we talk, but we try and keep to ourselves. I was watching her in a protective way and I could see she was not paying attention to her friend and thought, with my wolf hearing, I could hear everything. It seems Brookes is everything about her and if you're not paying attention to her, she will get mad. She started to ignore her because she had stuff on her mind. Her other friend seemed like he couldn’t care less about what Brookes was saying and was just staring at my mate. I grotled an intimidating growl, but no one heard it other than Mark and Daniel.

“What are you growling about?” mark asks me.

“I don’t like the way that kid is staring at my mate like she is a piece of meat.” I replied.

“They are friends. Just calm down.” Daniel replied.

“No! no one can have her. She’s mine! You won’t understand you haven’t found your mate yet.” I said and walked away because I couldn’t stand watching him.

The last few classes went by fast, then it was last period. It was art. I loved art. I walked in and Mark and Daniel weren’t far behind me. I saw Summerstar sitting in the back of the room. I noticed she had no partner and I was hoping the teacher would put us together. She put Mark and Daniel together, then the teacher said what he wanted.

“Josh, you will be with Summerstar.”

“Hello Summerstar! My name is Josh. Nice to meet you. I guess I will be your partner for art until the end of the year,” I said.

“h…hello Josh. It is a pleasure meeting you…uu.” She stuttered out awkwardly.

“Today we will be doing partner portraits. I got everyone prepared. Please start and decide who will go first, then next week you will be painting your partner.” Mr. Smith said.

“ww…ho do you want to go first” she asked.

“Ladies first”, Josh said with a big smile on his face. I was happy she was going to paint me. I didn’t care how it looked. It meant I got to know her better. I don’t want her to be so embarrassed around me that she stutters while trying to talk with me. I wanted her to be confident. I watched her looking at me and running to where the paint was to know what colors to use. Then she started to study me and paint me. Class was sadly over. I would have to go home and not be around her. She went to clean the paintbrushes and was cleaning up and I got up to see how the picture started, but once I got up, she ran back to the picture.

“Oh no you don’t! you can't see that until I’m done!” she said while running back to put it by the window to dry.

“I want to see what it looks like. It's my picture after all.” I said while using the puppy dog eyes on her.

“ That’s not going to work! I do it all the time with my parents to get what I want!” she said back to me.

“Fine be like that!” as I started to walk away. I was annoyed that she wouldn’t let me see it, so I walked away, but I didn’t want to. I wanted to stay with her. She finally got some of her nerves back and I liked that. I like them feisty. Mark and Daniel met me in the hall.

We started walking back to my car. I drove a hot red Ferrari. We drove in one car.

“What was that all about?” Mark asked me.

“I wanted to see what the picture looked like and she wouldn’t let me see it. I got annoyed and stormed away, and where is Erik my delta?” I asked.

“He should be coming soon. His car is still there. Why?” Daniel asked.

“I need you guys to take turns watching Summerstar. Mark, you will watch her after school. I need to know she is okay. Report every little thing she does. At night it will be Erik.” I spoke.

“Yes sir.” Both said at the same time. I drove home with Daniel and I couldn’t keep my mind off of her. We got home, we both started heading to the training field to meet with my dad the alpha. Alpha Jason Baralph,

“Hello alpha.” I said while bowing.

“Son, you don’t need to call me alpha or bow, you should know this. You are the soon to be alpha.” He spoke. I forgot he would get annoyed with that even though I haven’t had to do it at all.

“What are we doing today?” I asked.

“Where is the gamma mark?” dad asked.

“I sent him to watch over my mate. He will be here tomorrow. Delta Erik will not be here tomorrow. He will be watching over my mate after school. I will be alternating them until she is next to me.” I spoke.

“You found your mate, our future Luna? Who is she?” he asked.

“ Let's talk after training and I will tell Erik he is going to be watching Summerstar.” I said. He nodded and we started to spar. I was put up against Daniel, which is not fair because I’m a lot stronger than him. We spar until we get them down and they give up. I saw Erik and I mind linked him “meet me in the office after you are done. We need to talk.” I minded linking him and cutting the link.

I walked to the office so I could go talk to my dad and wait for Erik.

“Who is the future Luna? What’s her name?” my dad asked.

“Her name is Summerstar. I’m going to assume she is 15 years old because Jacob and I cant since her wolf.” I said.

“What pack is she from? Because we need to go talk to her old alpha and dad for permission for her to move here and become our future Luna.”

“I don’t think she is from a pack. She smells like she is around humans.”

“Wait, they might be the newcomers to come to the pack in 2 weeks.” He shuffled the documents that were on his table.

“ That is it! I found it. This is her, right?” he gave me the documents and I looked at the name and picture.

“Yes, dad, that’s her! Why is she just coming into a pack?” I asked.

“Her foster parents are keepers. They said this would be their last werewolf to keep and move to the pack with her. They knew her real parents and were told to keep her safe and not around werewolves until she is about to shift.”

“Why would her real parents want that?” I asked.

“I don’t know. Since she is your mate, I will approve them to move in and I heard from them there are a few pack members have come from them. They speak very well of them.” There was a knock on the door.

“Come in” dad said.

“Hello alpha.” Erik said and bowed.

“You wanted to talk with me, future alpha josh.” As he bowed.

“I found my mate. I need you to watch her tonight to make sure nothing happens to her.” I spoke.

“Our future Luna?” he asks.

“Yes, her name is Summerstar. Mark is watching right now. You guys need to take turns watching her from after school and at night until she moves here.” I said.

“Yes alpha!”

“Now go get marks so I know what is happening. Tell him to meet me here and tomorrow after school you will go watch her.”

“Yes alpha!” Erik takes his leave before he bows.

“What else do you know about her or her parents?” I asked.

“I know they have kept our secret over the years and they are good, but they want to settle down. They can't have kids themselves and that’s why they watch werewolves and find new packs for them. Here are some of the members that have come from them. Maybe you can get more information from them.” Dad goes through his filling cabinet and finds the files and hands them to me. There were 3 and 1 was an omega and her name was Sarah Madmarsho, 23 years old. Two are worriers Maxwell Madmarsho, 35 years old, and Brad Madmarsho, 40 years old.

“Why did they all take their last names?”

“To make it look legal in the human world. That they were all fosters and when they found a suitable family, they would give them to the family they saw would fit.”

“ How long were they in the human world?”

“Maybe 1-3 years not too long.”

A knock came from the door.

“Come in,” dad said.

“You wanted to see me alpha josh?” mark asked and bowed.

“What happened after school to her?”

“She missed the bus because she had a little fight and talked with you and when she got home, she talked to her mom and went to her room. Then her dad came home. They ate dinner and she found out who she was to a point. They will be moving here in a week. She isn’t taking it too well and is in her room having a mental break down.”

“I need to go. I have a bad feeling about this. I don’t want her to hurt herself.” I said and ran out of the room and got out of the and shifted into my big black wolf. I will talk with the others tomorrow.

“Sorry dad I had to go check on her.” I cut off the mind link. I didn’t want my dad to get mad since it was rude of me running out on him like that. I got there and I could see she was shocked.

“What are you doing here? I thought you told me to watch her?”

“I felt like something bad would happen. She was in shock. She had just found out what she was. You stay here even though I’m here.” I mind linking back to Erik. Good thing she is safe but she is not okay. Her room is on the second floor. I listen and all I hear is her mom and dad talking. I think she might be asleep.

“I’m going to climb the tree and check on her. I’m worried.” I shift back to my human form and climb the tree and see she is lying in bed looking at her phone. I stayed there for a while just watching her.

“ What’s going on? When will it be my turn? I want to see my Luna!” Erik's mind linked. I rolled my eyes. He is such a drama queen.

“She is still awake and on her phone. You cannot set your eyes on my mate!”

“Alpha! You can't keep her all to yourself! I want to see her. Stop being so over-protective of her. You already know I found my mate and I’m gay!” Oh yes, I forgot but my wolf doesn’t want anyone to see her or touch her.

“Not while she is in her room. I’m going home linking me.” I jumped down from the tree and high five Erik and Erik bowed before I left. I got home and went to sleep.
