"Rosalie Valentia," when she heard that name, Lucy's first instinct was to correct Esme on her name, but she refrained from doing so.
"I hear you prefer to be called 'Lucy'?" Esme asked and Lucy nodded. At was as though she had read her mind and Lucy was glad that she did not try to correct her. Esme looked her up from the bun her hair was in to the pumps she had been wearing. Another one who got the attire right, but something was terribly off.
"From today, you will abandon the name 'Lucy' and will stick to 'Rosalie'," Lucy was shocked. She understood that referring to herself with a different name from what others knew her as would create problems, but she had a personal connection with that name. When she discovered herself by that red willow tree, she knew of herself as Lucy.
