Ember (POV)
I spent some time with my girls. It was nice having some girl time to get my mind off everything. My wolf was hurting, and I wondered if this was how my mates felt when I was taken. I tried to talk to my wolf and reassure her that we would get him back. It didn't help. She was heartbroken and worried. It didn't help that I could tell my mates were hiding something from me.
I didn't know what they were hiding, but they were having a lot of hushed conversations. I asked them a few times what they were talking about and, of course, they all tried to play it off as nothing. I wanted to know what they were keeping from me. Sam left a few hours ago to head back to the pack house. I know he tried to give me time with my mates, but it just seemed like there was more to it than that.
