Victor (POV)
I was surprised when Ember shifted into her bat, even though that would make the most sense. She would want to check for danger. I was excited to get to fly with my mate and I had to keep reminding myself to check for traps and trolls. But I could not stop watching how gracefully Ember glided through the air. Her bat was beautiful.
I watched as Ember flew around a tall tree a few times. She looked like she was trying to check something out.
"What do you see?" I mind-linked and flew over to her.
"I'm not sure, but something keeps catching my eye, but I need to be at the right angle to see it." She said, circling the tree again. I followed her this time and I saw what she was talking about. The moonlight was reflecting off something. I flew down to get a closer look. I circ
