CHAPTER SEVEN:

TOBY POV:

I smiled and asked, "Dad, can Aria stay in the barn, so she will stop thinking that she will put us in danger, because the court hearing is tomorrow. Is that okay?"

My dad replied "that will be okay." I smiled at Aria and she smiled back at me. Then Aria went outside and I was right behind her. Aria grabbed her stuff. And I helped her into the barn. I said "how do you like it?"

Aria answered "It looks cool. And do you have protection?"

I said " Yes and they are going to be under the blanket flap. Aria, you don't have to do this if you don't want to know that right."

Aria answered, " Yeah, I know that. But I want to." I smiled and then took her upstairs to help her put her stuff away. My mom called them for dinner. We both went into the house. Aria sat next to me. I sat next to my dad, my dad sat next to Tonya and Tonya sat next to my mom. Dinner was over and Aria told us that she would do the dishes. So she did. I was watching her. Aria didn't know that I was right behind her. When she turned around she screamed. I said "it is okay, it is only me." She calmed down and she said "don't do that Toby. You scared me."

I said "I'm sorry."

Aria said "well, the dishes are done." While she said that, we looked at each other, then I said, "Mom, I'm taking Aria to the barn. Okay."

My mom said " Okay. But be in this in five minutes or we are locking the door on you. Okay, Toby."

I replied "okay mom." So we went to the barn. Aria went upstairs to go back in, and said “you can always stay out here with me."

I answered " Okay, I will stay out here with you. By the way, I am cheering you on tomorrow to take down Jack. So umm... are you really sure that you still want to do this tonight?"

Aria replied "Thanks Toby and I want you so much." I walked over to him. Then my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID, and I answered it. It was my parents'telling him to come back in with Aria because they heard something outside."

I said "The doors out here are locked as they are fine and bullet proof, so we will be fine."

My mom said " Okay, don't come back here. Just stay out there for the night, okay.I love you son."

I said " Okay mom. I love you too mom." We got off the phone and Aria was watching me. I had a radio in the barn while I was renovating it. She put a CD on and the song started playing. And I got closer to her. I started kissing her. Aria started kissing me back.I took off my shirt. And unbuttoned her and took her off. I took the lead and laid her down and in a few minutes, we heard a noise coming from the window.Aria looked and she saw something. She said “Jack is outside.” We got up, and she put her shirt back on and told me to call her dad. So I didn't even hesitate.. My dad came out and saw Jack running. Then he went back inside. Aria got scared to continue. Which I was perfectly fine with. I just hugged her and said " You're okay. Let's go to bed, okay?"

Aria said "I'm sorry we couldn't do what we planned to do tonight."

I said "that is okay. We can do that another time. Further down the road, okay."

Aria said " Okay. Can you stay with me? I don't want to be alone here."

I said "yeah. I will stay with you." So we climbed into bed. I put my arm around her. Aria was holding my hand. Aria kissed my hand. Then she turned around and faced me.. Aria looked at him. I asked "why are you staring at me?" Aria didn't say anything. All she did was kiss me.. Aria said "we can finish what we were about to do a little bit ago. If you still want to."

I replied "I want what you want. And I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to."

Aria said "I want to be with you and only you." I looked at her and saw that she was serious about it, so I leaned in and started kissing her. Aria started kissing me back. I got up and turned back on the radio, and I climbed back into bed. Aria sat up and we started making out. I once again took the lead, and I took off Aria's shirt. She took off her shirt while doing it. She was kissing my stomach, and it felt like sparks were shooting through me. We laid down. We still had our pants and underwear on so we just kissed and basically dry humping. Then I lowered her pants and underwear, and threw her clothes off the bed. My shorts and underwear landed where she was. I was on top of her. I looked at her and asked “are you completely sure? We can stop right now, I won't be mad at all.”

Aria said “yes.” And then started to kiss me. That is all I need to keep continuing. We finally started doing it. I was making love to her. I made sure she understood that I wouldn't leave. I put every little emotion into this. She was so sensitive. Her little moans were music to my ears. I made sure to take care of her. I showed absolute love and affection. She deserves that with everything she has been dealing with. We were in the middle of having s*x, when we heard a noise coming from downstairs. Aria said "Toby, Toby. Wait, what was that?"

I said "I don't know, but I can go check if you want me too."

Aria said "let's go together." Aria got into my shirt. I looked at her for a second, she was breathtaking. Once I finished looking at her and her beauty in my shirt, I finished putting on my boxers and we both went down. Aria grabbed my hand. I noticed the front door was unlocked and opened. I said "Aria, someone is in there. Go get clothes on and we have to go inside my parent's house.

Aria said "okay." She went back up the stairs.I heard Aria running around to get her clothes on.

ARIA POV:

I got my pants on and grabbed my cell phone and Toby's cell phone. That is when Jack was behind me and said " Why couldn't you have s*x with me? I could give you a better experience of that boy. The way your body carved his touch, it could carve mine as well. I could make it better for you." I turned around and saw Jack standing there.

I said "what do you want from me?" He didn't notice I had unlocked my phone and started recording what he was saying. Jack replied "I want you on that bed so I can do you. Then I want you dead for taking to court."

I said "no I will never ever have s*x with you ever." So then Jack got mad and went after me. There was a lot of screaming. I knew Toby would hear it. I heard feet running upstairs. Toby then saw Jack hitting him. After that, I blacked out.

TOBY POV:

I ran up the stairs when I heard Aria screaming. That is when I saw Jack hitting Aria. Aria was knocked out. I said "get off of her. And stop hitting her." Jack stopped and got up and ran out the door. I called my dad. My dad came running to the door with Tonya with my mom. They ran up the stairs and saw Aria knocked out on the floor with me next to her crying and I was holding her.I called 9-1-1. They showed up, they took her vitals and said they were taking her to the hospital.

A few hours later, she woke up and got up and said " What happened?

I replied “ your okay! And I will tell you everything. But I have to get the doctor come in to check on you first.” I got up and went to get the doctor. The doctor came in, he looked her over and said “Ms, you are very lucky. You have a concussion. You need to be careful. I will let you go home as long as you rest.” Aria nodded her head yes.

Aria asked “should I get ready for court today?"

I answered "you're okay. And I will tell you what happened when we got you back to the house to get you a shower and to get it." Aria nodded her head, Yes. We left the hospital and we were in my truck. I told Aria everything when we were driving back to my house. We went there and she went to take a shower. It took her a little bit longer. But she came out and asked point blank “did we have s*x last night?”

I replied " Yes and it was amazing, but Jack interrupted us and he wanted to take you, but you said no and then he beat you. I am so sorry. By the way, you were amazing last night."

Aria said "Thank you and hey, where is your mom?"

I replied. "I think she is in the house. Why?"

Aria said "I have to ask her a question. That is all. It is a girl talk."

I replied "okay." Then I got up and went really close to her and started kissing her. After about a few minutes, we pulled apart, then got ready. We left the loft and went into the main house. Tonya ran right up to us, she gave us a big hug. It was really nice to see that her sister likes me as well. Tonya said to Toby, “can you play with me before we have to leave?”

I said “of course, show me where and what we are playing.” That is when she literally grabbed hold of my arm and started to drag me to where my dad was and where a few toys that my mom brought her. My mom always wanted a little girl to spoil everything, but that changed because she had me. And she always said “that I was the only thing they needed and that I was their special little gift,” but I knew that my mom always wanted more kids, but it never happened. Once I was out of sight, I saw my dad get roped into playing as well. Well, this little girl has my dad wrapped around her little fingers. I guess you could say the same thing as me. My dad asked “How is Aria doing?”

I replied “she is okay, she is nervous, which I can understand. Hey dad, can I talk to you about something?”

My dad said “of course, what is it?”

I asked “Tonya, can you go see how my mom and your sister are doing please?” Tonya nodded her head yes, then got up to leave the room. And once she was gone, I said “have you ever felt like, you know, having s*x with a woman and you feel like it is completely right, like you were made for them and they were made for you?”

My dad said “ Son, are you telling me that you had s*x with Aria last night?”

I replied," Yes, I know we are young, but I actually love her. I can’t see my life without her.”

My dad replied, “ Okay, one, I don't condone having s*x at your age, but I understand it. Did you use protection?”

I answered “ Yes, of course. But she was a virgin. So I took her virginity.”

My dad said “ Okay, good. At least you are safe. And yes, I felt the same way when I met your mother. She was the only one who wouldn't take my s**t, she would put me in place when she needed to and call me out for my bullshit. She speaks her mind. And she was incredibly beautiful. Yes, she did take a while to say yes to me to even have a date with her.And when she did, I was the happiest person alive. I felt like I was on cloud nine. But something did happen when I was your age. Before your mother, I was kind of a player. I know you are not like me, you are like your mother. But anyway, me and this other girl had a pretty toxic relationship. She would hit me and beat me. And I emotionally abused her. I didn’t know at the time. We were on and off for a few years. The year I met your mother, we were off. And I called this other girl and said “I am sorry, but the last time we ended things is our last time. We are not good for each other and it is time for us to completely be done with each other. We can always still be friends but we will never be anything more than just friends.” Do you know what she said? She said “I will regret not taking her back when it is time for us to get back together.” But I hung up the phone on her because I didn’t really care about what she actually had to say. I knew she was going to be really mad and everything but, honestly, it was for the best. Yes, we still talk here and there and yes, your mother does know. But before we were okay, it went badly for your mother. It was the beginning of my senior year. And your mother and I were just starting to date, like literally 3 weeks, when we made it official. That day was the first day I drove your mother to school. And this woman saw me with her mother and she got really mad. She came up to us and said “oh, so this is the other woman you dumped me for?” Your mother was a firecracker, and said “from what I have heard you broke up with him before last month of last year’s school year. So as I see it, he was fair game. And did you really think you can keep a man when you treat them like s**t and have an on and off relationship for years? How did you really plan that one out?” The other woman smacked your mother and your mother broke her nose. But anyway, my point is, if you really feel this way about Aria, make sure your one friend that had asked you out last year and you said no knows that you're dating her because it will get ugly. And Aria has already seen and dealt with ugly things and she doesn’t need them anymore.”

I asked “so you felt this way with mom when you were basically my age?”

My dad said, “ Of course, it's a rare feeling but it's really worth knowing. And you will never be sorry unless you do something stupid. But your mother and I raised you better than that.”

I replied “thank you for talking to me.”

ARIA POV:

The minute after, I took a shower in the loft with Toby and got ready. I saw my face, it looked really bad. I have bruises and cuts everywhere. I walked out of the bathroom to where Toby was. He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. I then asked “did we have a sec last night?”

Toby replied " Yes and it was amazing, but Jack interrupted us and he wanted to take you, but you said no and then he beat you. I am so sorry. By the way, you were amazing last night."

I said "Thank you and hey, where is your mom?"

Toby replied. "I think she is in the house. Why?"

I said "I have to ask her a question. That is all. It is a girl talk."

Toby replied "okay." Then he got up and got really close to me and he started kissing me. After about a few minutes, we pulled apart, then got ready. We left the loft and went into the main house. Tonya ran right up to us, she gave us a big hug. I loved my sister and the fact that she feels comfortable being open with Toby makes my heart swell. Tonya said to Toby, “can you play with me before we have to leave?” When Toby said, of course, she immediately started pulling his arm into the living room. I stepped back because I needed to see if Mrs. Dodger, to ask if I can borrow some makeup to cover the bruises. I went to the kitchen and I saw Mrs. Dodger When

I asked "hey, Mrs. Dodger. Can I use some of your cover up to cover all over the bruises and cuts please?"

Mrs. Dodger replied, "Of course. Aria." So, went into her room. Mrs. Dodger helped me put on the cover up. Then Tonya went to the bathroom and said “Toby and papa dodger, I was wondering how long are you guys going to be?”

I said “we are almost done. If you want, you can walk with me, if you so choose.” We finished up, then started walking out of the bathroom. Toby was at the bottom of the stairs. He looked up and was watching us. Toby seemed weird like he wanted to ask a question.

I said “Toby, what is the question you want to ask?”

Toby asked "are you wearing a cover up?"

I nodded my head yes, and said "I'm ready to put Jack in prison for life."

Toby said "well, let's go then." Toby smiled, and reached for my hand. I happily gave my hand to him so I could hold his hand. We all went to the court house. I saw Jack. Jack saw me and glared at me. At least he didn’t come over to me. That was a relief. I then saw my lawyer and I went to meet with him. I told him about last night. Then I told my lawyer to bring a wet rag so I could show everyone what I did last night.

My lawyer, Mr. Rodger told her okay and it was time. Aria went in and sat next to Toby. The court began. Mr. Rodger called me up.

Mr. Rodger asked "Miss. Moon, how old are you?"

I answered "I am 16 years old as of last month."

Mr. Roder asked, "Do you live with your mom?"

I replied "yes, because my dad Yes listed M.I.A four years ago."

Mr. Rodger asked "when did your mom meet Mr. Vega?"

I answered "My mom met Jack two days after we heard that my dad was listed in M.I.A."

Mr. Rodger asked "were they friends?"

I replied " Yes they were. After two months of my dad's listed M.I.A, they started dating."

Mr. Rodger asked "when did he start staying over at your house with your mom?"

I answered, "Two weeks after they started dating."

Mr. Roger said "no further question."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "How can you remember how many weeks?"

I answered "because after my dad's listed. I marked the date of everything for a reason because I didn't want to forget anything. When my dad heard, I was a mess. I kept forgetting this so I started to write down everything. That is what I can remember."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "when did he start to beat you?"

I answered "He started beating me one year, two months and two weeks ago. And if you want to see my agenda, my lawyer has it."

The judge asked "may I look at it, Aria?"

I said "yes." So Mr. Roger gave the judge the agenda. The judge looked at it. Mrs. Sapphire asked "Do you have any proof of him beating you?"

I said "yes. Mr. Roger has the pictures. If you want to see them, and last night, I was staying at my boyfriend's house and he broke in and beat me."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "where are the bruises and cuts then."

I said "under the cover up."

Mrs. Sapphire asked, "Can we see?"

I replied " Yes. Mr. Rodger, can I have the wet rag please?" Mr. Rodger took up the wet rag. That is when I started to wipe off the cover up. And everybody saw how bad my face looked.

Mrs. Sapphire asked "what time did that happen?"

I answered "Around 1:30am."

Mrs. Sapphire said "no further questions."

The judge said "You should step down now, Aria." I got down and started my way to the seat. Mr. Rodger called up Jack Vega."

Mr. Rodger asked "why did you beat Ms. Moon?"

Jack replied "I have never beaten Aria."

Mr. Rodger asked "How come Ms. Moon accuses you of beating her?"

Jack answered "Aria probably accused me because she doesn't really like me."

Mr. Rodger said "no further questions."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "where were you on the day Ms. Moon said you first beat her?"

Jack replied, "I don't remember because that was a long time ago."

Mrs. Sapphire asked, "Do you drink beer or wine?"

Jack answered " Yes. I drink beer."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "how often do you drink?"

Jack replied "I drink two beers every night to cool up after work."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "Where do you work?"

Jack answered "I work in a sawmill. Like cutting up wood for people."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "Do you like Ms. Moon?"

Jack replied, " Yes. She is like a daughter of my own."

Mrs. said "no further questions."

Mr. Rodger asked "where were you last night between 12:30am and 1:40am?"

Jack said "with my girlfriend."

Mr. Rodger said "no further questions."

The judge said "Jack, you should step down." Mr. Rodger called Toby to the stand. Toby went up. Mr. Rodger asked, "How do you know about Aria Moon?"

Toby answered "Aria is my girlfriend."

Mr. Rodger asked "how did you two meet?"

Toby answered "We met in the woods. I fell off my horse and Aria was exploring the woods and she found me. She helped me get to my dad's work."

Mr. Rodger asked " Did you and Ms. Moon have any more contact before you guys start dating?"

Toby said " Yes, the day after she found me in the woods, we made plans to go exploring."

Mr. Rodger asked "how did you make those plans?"

Toby replied, " We made the plans over the phone. That is when I heard Aria scream ``Jack stop, Jack stop."

Mr. Rodger asked "What happened when you met with Ms. Moon?"

Toby replied "we meet up around 11:55am- 12:30pm. And I saw there were bruises. I asked what happened. She got scared because she heard a car coming up the driveway. Aria told me to go into the woods and she would meet me there. So I did, but what I was watching was happening."

Mr. Rodger asked "What happened after that?"

Toby answered "when I was watching, I saw her running away from Jack. Jack was running after her. A few minutes later, she was running into the woods to come meet me. Aria told me the whole story of what happened?"

Mr. Rodger said "no further questions."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "why were you so hyped about helping Ms. Moon?"

Toby said, "because when I opened up my eyes that first day, I fell in love with her."

Mrs. Sapphire asked " Do you call Ms. Moon any other time?"

Toby replied " Yes, every night before I go to sleep."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "Thy?"

Toby replied "because for a few weeks we were friends and I called my friends to make sure they were okay and to see what they wanted to hang out with. And when we started dating, I just wanted to hear her voice before I fell asleep."

Mrs. Sapphire said "no more questions." The judge told them they were going to have recess and they would be back in half-an hour. Then he took his mallet and hit it and the court room went out. I was waiting outside with Toby and Tonya and Toby's parents. My mother came over to me and asked "Aria, can I talk to you over there?" I nodded her head yes and we went over to the side.

My mother said "Do you not want me to be happy?"

I said "I do want you to be happy but I am tired of getting beaten, and I will not allow you or him to hurt Tonya either, so I went for custody of her and I got a job and I'm getting a house too. So if you don't mind, Tonya, me, Toby, and her parents are going to get something to eat." I turned and walked right to Toby and Tonya and Toby's parents. We walked to the cafeteria to get some food. We got there and started eating and a few minutes later Jack walked in with my mom. Toby looked straight into my eyes. I turned around and saw Jack and Jack walking up to me. I moved to Toby and I told Tonya to move over to Mr. Dodger and Tonya did so. Jack said "Aria, don't you worry. I'm going to walk and I'm going to get you and Tonya and your boyfriend." Then he walked away. I looked at Toby and Tonya and Toby's parents. I got really sad. I said "I don't want to put any of you in danger with Jack."

Toby said " Don't you even say it, Aria. Nothing is going to happen to us. So stop thinking that you're going to put us in danger." I just sat down. Mr. Roger went down to get them and said "it was time to get back up there.” While we were walking up, Toby started to hold my hand. Toby said "Aria, hold on. I have to tell you something."

I said "okay." Everybody else went in. Toby said "okay. You're the first person and last person, I am going to say this too. I am falling madly in love with you. I love you Aria Moon. I was going to say it after court was over. But this is a perfect time."

I said "I was about to say I love you after court was over. But um, we really should get in there."

Toby said "yeah we should, but first..." Toby kissed me. Then we started walking into the courtroom. The court case started up again, Mrs. Sapphire called my name again. So I got up and walked up to the stand again..

Mrs. Sapphire asked "Ms. Moon, why did you say Mr. Jack Vega beat you?"

I replied "because it is true!"

Mrs. Sapphire asked "why did your mother move on very quickly after your dad was listed M.I.A.?"

I replied "she never told me why, but I think she moved on so quickly because she didn't want to be alone with me at all."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "why do you think that?"

I answered, "because of how she treats me and talks to me now."

Mrs. Sapphire asked "why does Jack beat you?"

I replied "Jack beats me because I told him no about having s*x with him and then I told him to get out of my room."

Mrs. Satfire said "So he tried getting you to have s*x with him while you are a minor, but it didn't work. Why did you mention that before?"

I answered "you never asked, so I didn't give that answer to you till just now."

Mrs. Sapphire said "no further questions."

Mr. Rodger asked "when did he ask you this question to have s*x with him?"

I answered "the fifth time he spent the night, which was four weeks after my mom and Jack started dating."

Mr. Rodger asked "why didn't you tell your mom?"

I replied "I did, but she didn't want to listen to what I told her or she didn’t care to do anything about it because she was/is still wrapped in him."

Mr. Rodger asked "what did she tell you when you told her that her boyfriend was beating you?"

I replied, "she told me to go to my room and that I was a liar and Jack will deal with me when he gets home."

Mr. Rodger said "no further questions." I got down. The last part of the case was that lawyers were trying to convince the side of which one they were representing. The jury went out for about forty-five minutes. They came back. The judge said "will the defendant please rise." Jack stood up. The judge said "Jury one, what do you think about this case?"

The jury once said "guilty of all charges."

The judge said " Thank you. Jack, you will have 14 years of life."
