“Weapon has malfunctioned,” Susila announced. “Seems to be a problem with the cooling system. I've directed some Ellis Island personnel to check it out.”
“Are you kidding?” Nat asked, turning his head slightly but keeping his eyes on the partially open door. “Red Sky's hit, but it's not destroyed yet. I need those guns to resume firing.” He kept his submachine gun shouldered and his finger on the trigger. He thought he had hit the man who opened the door, but it was hard to see anything clearly in the infernal red light.
