Chapter 31 – The MASH building
Martian-American Security Headquarters was housed in a two-story structure made of Martian brick. It was surrounded by a wrought-iron fence topped with razor wire. The gate consisted of a pair of watch towers, each with an armed guard at the top. There was a broad lawn between the fence and the building, providing clear lines of sight for the guards to shoot at any fence jumpers.
Dale walked down the street towards the gate with his new friends trailing behind. He stopped a few hundred yards away from the compound and evaluated its defenses.
“What's the plan?” asked the elderly man with the ancient M1911 pistol. In spite of his age, he had kept pace with Dale and was never more than a few feet away.
