Chapter 10

Shivaay hide Anika behind his back and she wrapped her arms around him as the five men with chains and the wooden sticks by Veer hand gesture circled them, so he can prevent any chance for them to run away or hide as he walked around Shivaay and Anika with a smirk on his lips and Shivaay kept moving with his movement, so he won’t even have one look on Anika.

Veer: oh birdie, birdie, birdie...

Shivaay held on Anika more by stretching his arms backward and gluing her to his back as Anika was holding on the back of his shirt and looking at Veer with wide eyes as he continued..

Veer: you have been a very bad birdie ...why you flied away? I was just going to have a little taste and then send you free (then he looked at Shivaay and said with dramatic acting) shame on you Shivaay, we are brothers. Why didn't you just tell me that you want a taste too, I can share. In fact I will share with Surya

Anika was about to faint from the disgusting words but she closed her eyes hard to gain her balance and held on Shivaay for support , which was the only thing that stopped him from ripping Veer head off by his bare hands !!

But Anika sudden clutch reminded him that the minute he moves, she is on her own between those merciless animals

Shivaay: I will kill you Veer, I swear I will kill you

Veer laughed out loud then he looked at Surya who was looking so angry at Anika as she hugging Shivaay, like he couldn't see or care of anything but that she should be with him not instead

Veer: Surya, my boy ..Take the birdie to the car , we don't want her to get a share from Shivaay 's gift ..After all we won’t enjoy an ugly birdie , right ?

Surya approached towards them but Shivaay held on Anika more and gave him a death glare that made him take a step back ..

Veer: Shivaay , Shivaay ..Sooner or later we will have her , either from your cold dead hands or ...(then he shook his head and said) no , that is pretty much it

Shivaay smirked a scary smirk and said ..

Shivaay : this is just so like you Veer , if you were a man enough you would have faced me yourself ..But no , you can’t do that. Because you are not a man , you are just a coward little boy who still can’t handle the idea of standing in front of Shivaay Singh Oberoi

Veer frowned and signaled to one of his men and the man approached Shivaay and whip cracked the chain in front of him, the sound of the chain as it cuts the air made Anika knees weak, it is the most scary sound she ever heard , she can’t imagine the pain of a lash of this chain as Shivaay whispered to her .

Shivaay : listen carefully to me and do exactly what I will say without questioning ....you will reach to my jacket pocket now and will take the stack of money in it , and I will clear the way for you to run , run as fast as you can and as far as you can and never look back ..No matter what you heard , no matter what , Anika ...never look back and never return here , never look for me ..I will look for you

Anika eyes widen in disbelief as tears flow over her cheek as Shivaay took a step back with her glued to him

Shivaay smiled widely and whispered : you are the best thing that happened to me , never forget that

Anika sobbed and whispered: Shivaay , please ..Don’t do this to me

Shivaay whispered angrily : if you looked back or did anything different than what I am saying ..I will never forgive you ..You don't know me , I never take back my word , never .

Anika tears flow more and looked around her and pulled the stack of the money from his pocket slowly and put it in her dress pocket as Shivaay smiled widely feeling her hand in his pocket and a tear skipped his eyes thinking of how painful this decision is for him , his heart is burning ,but there is no other way to protect her , Veer won’t show mercy on either of them and he do not expect any , because he won’t show mercy too

He took another step back as the man was cutting the air with chain and approaching to him , he didn't take the order to hit yet and Shivaay knows that it is just because Veer don't want Anika to get wounded

He took a third step back and for every one surprise he screamed ..

Shivaay : RUN

Anika left his back and ran as fast as she can , as Shivaay jumped over one of the men in her way and that took the man by surprise and Shivaay pulled the chain from his hand and hit him with its end on his face , and the man screamed and fall as Shivaay took the chain and said with wide smile ..

Shivaay : Okay Veer let’s play

Veer eyes widen in fear and disbelief of everything that happened so fast as Surya looked at Anika who is running and was about to run behind her but Shivaay noticed and hit him with the chain on his head and he fall as blood covered his face , as the man that was whip cracking the chain before hit Shivaay so hard with chain on his back and Shivaay screamed from the hard lash and fall on the ground

And that when Anika eyes widen and froze in her place hearing his scream , she knew it’s his , she looked back and saw Shivaay on the ground as the man that was whip cracking the chain hit him again with chain on his shoulder and Veer signaled the three other men , who started to hit him with wooden sticks

Anika screamed :SHIVAAAY ..NOOO

Shivaay eyes widen and looked at her through the men legs as she was standing in her place crying and screaming , why she looked back ? Why she didn’t run ?

Veer to his men : BREAK HIS BONES ONE BY ONE

The men kept hitting Shivaay with their wood stick and chains as he was on the ground , in so much pain as blood seeping from his injuries , there was no way he still have a fight in him ..but seeing Anika still in danger , gave him more strength and he clutched more on his heavy chain and with all his strength he trapped one of the men holding the wooden stick and hit him with a rock from the ground on the head couple of times , and the man fainted as the blood seeping from his wound and Shivaay screamed again

Shivaay: RUN

Anika ran as fast as she can , but not towards the road instead she ran towards the houses of the neighbors around them and kept knocking them one by one as she screaming.

Anika:HEEEEEELP ...HEEEELP

Only two of the houses opened and Anika entered one, she ran inside the house she don't know anyone in it and screamed as tears flow on her cheek to the man who opened the door

Anika : HELP..THEY WANT TO KILL MY HUSBAND ..HE IS BY HIMSELF AND INJURED, we are your neighbors , please help us

The man : don't worry, neighbors are family (then he looked at his son) come with me

The woman screamed as her husband and her son pulled knives from the kitchen and ran outside and Anika ran to look from the window with the woman

And the scene was so clear...

the man and his son engaged with two of the men and Shivaay injured two before and was fighting with fifth as he was still in the ground as Surya was unconscious with blood coming out of his head and thrown in the side .

But what really made her heart fall was Veer , who was standing in a distance of the fight and then he walked slowly towards his car and Anika thought he is thinking of running away , but then he entered his car , started it and waited ..He didn't run away , he didn't even turn on the light , he just waited as the car was in the direction of the fight !!!

Anika eyes widen as a scary thought came to her mind , what if Veer is thinking to run over them ? That explains why he still didn't drive away , he is waiting for a clear shot for Shivaay who is injured and seems hard for him to run away. That is the only explanation came to her mind

Anika without thinking further ran to the kitchen as the woman ran behind her and she looked around for any weapon she can use and what her eyes fall on was kettle with boiling water on the stove , she shivered from the idea but there was no time to fear nor to think , she ran and pulled it as the woman screamed and said ..

The woman : OH GOD , WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Anika : CALL THE AMBULANCE , PLEASE

and she ran with wide teary eyes as fast as she can towards the car as Veer was ready to drive inside the fight ,seeing a clear space towards Shivaay who was still on the ground hitting the man leaning and injured

He put his hand on driving wheel and pressed on the gas paddle and the car roared but before it reaches the fight. The boiling water flied through the open window and hit the side of his face and he screamed in pain and turned the wheel to the far left as a reaction to the pain then stopped the car and got out of it screaming and holding his face then his eyes fall on Anika who was still holding on the kettle and shivering not believing she did that

Veer : I WILL KILL YOU, YOU FILTHY VILLAGE GIRL

And he ran toward her with anger and Anika screamed and hide her face with her wrists and closed her eyes but she then heard Veer scream and then fall , she uncovered her face only to see Shivaay standing beside Veer who became unconscious with the rock In his hand then he throw the rock on the ground and looked at him with disgust then collapse on the ground sitting as his body was filled with bloody lashes and Anika ran and hugged him as tears flow on her cheek and she said

Anika : don't forgive me, I am okay with that ..But I couldn't leave you , I couldn't

Shivaay chuckled faintly and hugged her back ..

Shivaay : Have I ever told you that I take back my words all the time

Anika looked at him with wide smile as he nodded and said ..

Shivaay : I am not stupid to get angry on my savior

Anika chuckled and wiped her tears and hugged him but after a minute the ambulance cars came and the paramedic took everyone injured , including Shivaay and Anika who was holding his hands the entire ride towards the hospital.

After minutes

In the hospital

Anika was sitting squeezing on Shivaay's hand who was moaning in pain as the doctor stitching his wounds but occasionally he open his eyes and smile to her to sooth her worrying .

Anika : are you in so much pain ?

Shivaay smiled and said: those are just scratches, no big deal

The doctor: those are not scratches , son ..You should take care of these wounds .. Are you his wife?

Anika nodded yes hard holding Shivaay's hand

The doctor : you will change on his wounds and feed him well and don't forget to pay the hospital pill too

Anika nodded yes hard as Shivaay whispered to her ..

Shivaay : please tell me this is a general hospital

Anika shook her head and said ..

Anika : apparently the woman called the ambulance of their private hospital and they took us all

Shivaay closed one eye and said ..

Shivaay : you still have the business money ?or did you spend it ?

Anika raised an eyebrow and said: I didn't have a chance to go to the mall during the fight , did you got a hit on the head ?(and she got out the stack of the money from her pocket)here

Shivaay took them then closed one eye and did some math then his eyes widen

Shivaay : my small business is going to be a tiny business

Anika chuckled faintly and rubbed his hand as he whispered to her teasingly

Shivaay : how I look by the way after the fight ? Am I still decent looking ?

Anika held his chin and looked at his face from side to side that had only few faint bruises and said ..

Anika :just blue like your wife

Shivaay chuckled faintly and held Anika’s hand and planted a kiss on it..

Shivaay whispered : I am so glad you didn't leave me , I can’t imagine my life without you

Anika smiled faintly and hugged his hand to her chest as he said sadly

Shivaay : we will have to move and find another home ..I will call the real estate agency tonight and make them offer it for sale , I am sorry, I know how much you loved it

Anika smiled and said : home is any place with you , I don't care

Shivaay smiled widely and said : and I love you too

Anika smile vanished and swallowed and looked the other side shyly as he gasped in pain when the doctor continued to stitch his back wounds and Anika held his hand firmly and looked at him worried ..

Anika: is he going to be okay ?

The doctor: he is strong like a horse (then he looked at Shivaay and said) but I am afraid your cousin is badly injured , he might need a plastic surgery for his face. Sorry to tell you that

Anika looked at the doctor confused as Shivaay eyes widen and swallowed and shook his head ..

Shivaay : it’s ..It’s nothing ..It’s a misunderstanding. I ...I worked for Veer's father , Mr. Tej Singh (then he chuckled nervously and said) that is all

The doctor: but the names ..

Shivaay strictly: it's a misunderstanding

The doctor looked at him confused as Anika nodded faintly to Shivaay as the door knocked and both looked towards the door as a police woman entered and both Shivaay and Anika eyes widen

The police woman : we need the Mrs. for few words ?

Shivaay eyes widen and held on Anika’s hand as Anika swallowed then patted on his hand and said..

Anika : don't worry. I am sure , it’s because of your injures

And she left his hand and nodded to the police woman as Shivaay said ..

Shivaay: ANIKA

Anika looked at him then smiled a shivery smile to sooth him but she was terrified , she never before talked to police or even saw them , now she might be in trouble and to add to her fear the police woman suddenly clutched on her arm and took her out harshly and closed the door behind her .

The police woman whispered : you entered the woman 's house and took the boiling water and melted the face of the son of the richest and most brutal family in the country ..Pray they put you in the prison

Anika swallowed as she took her to another room and knocked the door , then pushed her inside where another police man was sitting there , two middle age men with fancy suits and a young lady with gold jewelry covering her from head to toes and they were all sitting around the patient on the bed

Who was no one other than Veer with half wrapped face and wide eye !!!

The police woman : the witness said this girl is the one who took her kettle and throw the boiling water on you

Veer : no ....no , it’s not her as I said ..I was driving and a little boy thrown the water through my open window and I hit my head , I have nothing to do with that girl or anything considers her. Why you do not believe me , papa?

One of the men looked at him with disbelief then came near Anika Angrily and said ..

The man : HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO THE SON OF TEJ , GIRL

?

And he was about to slap Anika but the other man held his arm and said ..

The other man : Tej , calm down ..We don't know why the girl did that , you know Veer and his actions

Tej pulled his arm from the other man's clutch and said ...

Tej: SHAKTI LEAVE ME ...IF IT WAS YOUR SON , YOU WOULDN'T HAVE SAID THAT ...PRYIANKA TAKE YOUR FATHER AND GO OUT

The young lady held her father hand and pleaded to him to just leave her uncle and sit back as Shakti shook his head in disbelief and looked at Anika who was still shocked as the police man said..

The police man: please everybody calm down , we just need Mr. Veer to confirm that it is her , then we will take the legal actions

Anika : yes ...y..Yes... it’s me

Tej roared in anger as both Priyanka and Shakti held on his arms as Anika said ..

Anika : but ..I..Was defending myself ..He attacked me and my husband and he was going to kill him ..I did what I have to do. My husband is badly injured (then she frowned and said to Tej) your son is a horrible person and I do not regret what I did to him , I was protecting my husband

Tej roared again as both Shakti and Priyanka held him again and the police man said ..

The police man : okay (then he looked at the police woman) what is this girl name ?

The police woman : the woman just signaled on the room (then she looked at Anika) what is your name ?

Anika in low tone: Anika

The police man : YOUR FULL NAME

Anika in low tone: Anika Singh Oberoi

Priyanka gasped in shock as Shakti stood with wide eyes as the police man looked surprised then added

Police man: what is your husband name ?

Anika in low tone : Shivaay Singh Oberoi

Priyanka tears flow and covered her face as Shakti eyes widen more and looked at Tej who swallowed and said

Tej: brother , she is a liar ..Veer will never do that to his brother Shivaay and Shivaay will never marry a girl like her

Anika: I don't understand , do you know my husband ?

Priyanka as she tears : I told you papa , I saw him in the mall , and it’s him. He is in Mumbai

Shakti closed his eyes and then looked at Anika and said

Shakti : if you are honest in your words then your husband is my son .
