Chapter 21

Veer: bingo!

Anika gasped for breath and collapsed on the floor sitting as her hand shivered holding on the phone and Shivaay ran and sat besides her not understanding what is happening?!!

Shivaay: Anika?

Anika looked at Shivaay but then she heard the scream again and tears flow on her cheeks as Shivaay said strictly..

Shivaay :Anika , hung up , now

Anika looked at him and shook her head hard with pleading eyes then said to Veer

Anika in low tone : why are you doing this to me ?

Veer chuckled and said : isn't it clear birdie ? for just that ..I want you to feel just like you are feeling now , it just feels so good (then he chuckled and said ) oh birdie , you thought you can just run from me and burn my face and hide in the Oberoi's mansion ? oh no , oh no .. you don't know Veer Singh Oberoi then !!!

Anika closed her eyes as tears flow more on her cheek

Veer : ..now you know I can hurt you one way or another ..but after all birdie , your brother promised me with you and broke his promise ..it was a matter of time to punish him , the question now is how much you love him to come to me and take him ..alone!!!!

Anika eyes widen as he added ..

Veer : or I will send him to you piece by piece ..his fingers first , then his eyes , then ..you get the point !!

Anika without thinking nodded yes hard as he added

Veer : BY YOUR OWN ANIKA , I will send you the address in a message , keep the phone with you , Shivaay forgets about his phone all the time

Rudra :ANIKAAAA ..NO , HE WANTS TO ...

and the call ended as Anika just pressed the phone for a second to her ear then dropped it back to the pocket and looked at Shivaay with wide shocked eyes as he nodded to her and said ..

Shivaay : it’s going to be okay , you are not on your own

Anika sobbed with the soothing words and Shivaay hugged her as she shivered in his arms and said ..

Anika : why ?... why ?.... why ? why he can’t just let me live? why he insists of torturing me and my loved ones

Shivaay held her face and said : what happened ?

Anika : Veer took Rudra , my brother ... , he want to punish me in him..we must save him , we must do something

Omkara : of course we will , don't worry Bhabhi

Shakti : I AM GOING TO KILL THAT BOY !!!! YOUR FAMILY ?!!! IT REACHED TO THAT LIMIT?

Anika : Shivaay ? let’s go and ...

and she pulled his hand but for her shock Shivaay stood still and swallowed as his face soften from the tension and worrying and his eyes got lost in the past , she saw in his eyes the pain .. as everyone else noticed Shivaay’s expression

Anika eyes widen and said: Shivaay ? let’s go to Veer and save Rudra

Shivaay looked down and didn't answer as she looked at everyone else ..Shakti and Omkara were confused from Shivaay's reaction, she is telling him his brother in law is getting hurt !!! and it’s not like Shivaay to be that calm when a loved one in danger!!!! but seeing Priyanka's face that seemed like his..they knew that there is something they don't know may change their point of view .

but no matter what they knew ,no matter what they feel ..no one saw what Shivaay saw and no one can feel what he felt seeing Anika's condition ...even Anika herself

Anika held Shivaay's shoulders as tears flow on her cheek ..

Anika : Shivaay , please ..please say something ., tell me we will do something , tell me we have a plan !

Shivaay looked at her and all he saw in this moment was her tied to the leg of the bed and her body covered with blood and bruises and Rudra standing with her blood on his hand, doing nothing but watching her mangled body , so Shivaay just said numbly

Shivaay: and why would I do that ?

Anika eyes widen and held her breath as Priyanka said ..

Priyanka : Bhabhi? is he the same brother who beats you ?

Anika eyes widen and looked at Shakti and Omkara who their eyes widen as well then she looked at Shivaay who looked at her a look of (answer her )

Anika swallowed and said with wide eyes : he ....he is my brother

(then she looked at them with pleading eyes ..)

Anika : I love him , I do , since I was 12 he was my only family ....I can’t let him get hurt , I heard his screams (then she closed her ears and said) I remember those screams , he is in so much pain ..all his life he is in pain…he never saw a good day in his life.

Shivaay closed his eyes then he whispered to her

Shivaay : but he doesn’t deserve your love !! he hurt you so much

Anika whispered : I don't care ..I don't care if he never loved me ..I don't care ..please help me ..I don't know what to do (then she covered her lips and said) he can kill him and get away with it ..he knows that my brother has no one but me ..and the village must hate him for having a sister like me , they think I am characterless girl (then she looked at Shivaay and said) you know how they think ,Shivaay

Omkara : I ...I am sure that Veer bhai won’t do something like that , he is just scaring you ..your brother will be just fine

Shakti nodded and said : yes , I agree with Omkara , Anika.. I will call Tej and make him know what Veer is doing ..tomorrow everything will be clear

Anika whispered : tomorrow ?

Priyanka shook her head and said : I really don't understand why you are hurt like that..I think he deserve whatever Veer will do to him , who can hurt someone like you !!! I don't understand !!!!

Shakti frowned and said : Priyanka ..don’t say things like that in this situation

Anika looked at Shivaay and said in low tone ..

Anika : what you think Shivaay ? you think he deserve whatever Veer is doing to him?

Shivaay looked at her eyes that were just streaming tears and he took her in his arms and said ..

Shivaay: I love you so much Anika , you are the kindest person I ever met and if life was fair all the people who hurt you , will be punished

Anika looked at him with teary eyes as he said ..

Shivaay : Anika? ..you just go have some sleep , and I will figure it out ..do not worry

Anika smiled faintly and nodded as tears flow on her cheek ..

Anika : okay

(then she smiled looking at everyone and said ...)

Anika :I ...I know no one will understand ..I know you love me and can’t accept that someone hurt me that badly and if I said from now till tomorrow that he is not as bad as you think ..you won’t believe me and you will think I am naive....all what I want to say ..is that I understand and I love you too

(then she looked at Shivaay and smiled and nodded then ran and Priyanka ran behind her and Shivaay sat on a chair and said ..

Shivaay : if he was a stranger or a person I don't know , I would have sacrificed my life for him , but ..(then he closed his eyes and said) he is the person who tortured my wife for years

Shakti : I don't know what to say Shivaay ..I don't think you are wrong and I don't think she is wrong ..and I can’t imagine anyone standing in her situation

Omkara : I lied when I said I don't think Veer will hurt him , you know Veer ..he can go to any extent ..I think maybe we should call the police

Shakti : you want me to put an "Oberoi " in the prison ? no I will call Tej and tell him to go see what his son doing !!!!

Shivaay held his head and said : Anika is heartbroken ..I can feel her

meanwhile ..

Anika ran to the kitchen and pulled a knife and looked at it with wide eyes and felt her body shivering from the thought , thinking she is by her own to save her brother ..yes , he hates her , yes maybe if he was in her place he wouldn't have moved a finger to save her but she can’t just stay still ..she can’t just let him get hurt and since Veer must want her alone , so he can force himself on her , and he can’t touch even one hair from hers ,then she must will need the knife ...either use it on him or ..!!

Anika looked at the knife with teary eyes and then squeezed on the necklace on her neck ..

Anika: I love you so much , Shivaay

the phone rang with an incoming message and she flinched ..then closed her eyes .

(BHABHI)

Anika flinched again and hide the knife under the jacket as Priyanka came and Anika looked down as Priyanka smiled seeing her .

Priyanka : Bhabhi ? what are you doing here?

Anika in low tone : I...I was just drinking water .

Priyanka looked at the back door in the kitchen and sighed .

Priyanka : I was so worried seeing you going to the kitchen ..I thought you will go to ...

Anika shook her head as she looking down and Priyanka smiled and held her shoulder

Priyanka : Bhabhi , I thought about it and I think I can relate to that , I mean ..I thought my brother is a rapist , I called him very terrible names and told him he is not a brother to me , but then I felt the pain of my heart , no matter what he did he is my brother and after that without any proof I believed he is innocent ..and one day by accident I saw him in the mall and my heart screamed of pain and longing ..I felt mad ..I ran behind him and looked everywhere like a maniac ..he is Shivaay my brother , no matter what

Anika wiped her tears that kept streaming as Priyanka said ..

Priyanka : but also I can’t imagine Omkara or Shivaay bhai beating me or hurting me, brother should protect , right?

Anika nodded faintly and said : yes..but when I think about my brother and try to remember the pain he caused to me ,I remember his good times too , I remember him hugging me and wiping my tears ..I remember him fighting the boy who pulled my hair in the school ..I remember him staying awake all night beside my bed just to make sure the monsters under my bed won’t come and bite my toes

Priyanka smiled as Anika smiled to her as tears flow on her cheek ..

Anika : I had my moments with him , like any brother and sister ..we played and hugged and fought with each other ..we have the same eyes Priyanka , the same blood and many times we shared a meal and a smile ......(then she shook her head and said ) don't think I forgot what he did to me ..I don't justify his actions with me ..I don't think I even forgive him on the pain he caused me and Shivaay..no , but no matter what , he is my brother ..something I can’t deny or forget ..something maybe not even him understand

( Piku , can you leave us for a moment ...)

Priyanka looked behind her at Shivaay as Anika looked the other way and Priyanka nodded and got out as Shivaay looked at Anika and said ..

Shivaay : I don't even deserve a look from your eyes ? I broke your heart ?

Anika looked at him with teary eyes and said ..

Anika : maybe I just can’t raise my eyes to look at you .

Shivaay ran and hugged her and she cried on his chest ..

Shivaay: why are you saying that ? ...I don't understand what he did to deserve a sister like you ? I really don't

Anika : I feel so scared and confused and ...I am so lonely

Shivaay shook his head and said : never (then he held her face and said) you are never alone , I am always with you , right or wrong , sickness or health , heaven or hell ..I am with you ..we are sharing pain and happiness

Anika hugged him as he kissed her head and then caressed her hair ..

Shivaay : as long as we with each other ..we will get through anything ..(then he held her hand and said) we didn't know each other , we probably would have never met if not for the pain in our life ..but our paths became the same and we held each other hands and rode the same train

Anika closed her eyes hard and held on his hand ...will he ever understand ? what he will do if he knew what she is planning to do ? but she don't have a choice , he don't want to save her brother nor he will let her go and Veer said either she come by her own or he will send her Rudra in pieces

she leaned her head on his chest and said ..

Anika : just hug me and say you love me

Shivaay : I love you so much , always did and always will

after an hour ..

in Tej mansion ..

Veer was sitting and eating his dinner while protected by two men beside him , Although he don't expect any violence or Shivaay to come as he sure that Anika will come by her own and wont sacrifice her brother ,no matter what he did

(She ...is...not ..g..going to come )

Veer smiled and looked at Rudra who was tied to a chair with blood covering him from head to toe

Veer : and why is that ?

Rudra smiled faintly and said : because she hates me ..she won’t come ..all (cough, cough) what you did ..is ..for nothing , I came to Mumbai to ask for forgiveness I knew I will never have ..(then he smiled and said) you just took a part of her right from me .

Veer sigh and said : I have to send a stronger message then ..you know cut a finger or toe , then she will come

Rudra closed his eyes and smiled faintly and leaned his head on the chair and said ..

Rudra : I beg you do that , maybe the guilt will lessen from my heart

Veer looked at him then shook his head and whispered to himself

Veer : damn it , from all the people she love , I took the suicidal one that she hates

(RUDRA ..RUDRAAAAA)

Rudra flinched and screamed :ANIKA , GO AWAY

Anika came with teary eyes and looked at him as he shook his head and closed his eyes

as Veer chuckled and clapped ..

Veer : BRAVO , BIRDIE ...such a brave stupid girl (then he smiled and said) so tell me ? what you think of our love nest

Anika as tears flow on her cheek : I am on my own like you said ..you won , just let me and my brother go

Veer shook his head and said : have I ever said I will let you go ..I may let him go , but why you ? ..we have a whole night planned for us ..first I am going to taste every part of your tight body and when I have enough..

Anika swallowed as he approached near her face and she closed her eyes in disgust ..

Veer : then I am going to melt your beautiful face..I will make from you a master piece that even Shivaay will feel disgusted to see (then he said Angrily ) AND WHEN EVER YOU LOOK AT THE MIRROR YOU WILL REMEMBER ME

Anika smiled and said : oh you seem so angry from that little incident

Veer looked at her shocked as she chuckled and said ..

Anika : but I agree , half your face look different than the other ..but don't worry , I can do the other half too

Rudra looked at Anika shocked seeing how much she changed in those days , his sister never stood and talked back ..she usually just take the pain silently and don't stand for herself .

Veer looked at Anika shocked then he took a moment and laughed loudly but she felt anger in his fake laugh..

Veer : OH , I will have fun hearing your screams ..

(ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SAY THAT ?)

Veer eyes widen as a hand grabbed him and suddenly a knife became on his neck and Anika smiled and looked at Shivaay who smiled back to her ,

Shivaay : sorry baby I was late and you had to hear this disgusting talk but there were some body guards I had to beat

Anika smiled widely and wiped the tears on her face ...

Anika : I am okay , baby

"Flashback an hour ago .."

she leaned her head on his chest and said ..

Anika : just hug me and say you love me

Shivaay : I love you so much , always did and always will

Anika as tears flow on her cheek : and I love you too , so much Shivaay ..(then she cried harder and said) and I can’t do this to you , I can’t

Shivaay broke the hug and said ..

Shivaay : what you mean ?

Anika opened the jacket looking down and the knife fall and his eyes widen in disbelief ..

Shivaay :WHAT WERE YOU PLANNING TO DO ?

Anika as tears flow on her cheek: I have to save my brother ..he said I should come by my own and you didn't want to help me ..so I will go and I promise you he won't touch a hair from me

Shivaay shook his head and hugged her as she sobbed in his arms ..

Shivaay : I didn't leave you another choice , did I ? you can go to this extreme for your loved ones ? (then he smiled and said ) I will save your brother , Anika

Anika smiled widely as tears flow on her cheek and he nodded ..

Shivaay : I am sorry , I am sorry I forgot that he is part from you and I can’t let any part of you get hurt

Anika whispered : you will do that even when you don't want to ?

Shivaay : for you I can do anything (then he smiled widely and said) didn't I say before that we are in heaven or hell together

Anika smiled widely and leaned her forehead on his forehead and they held each other hand s..

Anika :what I did in my life to deserve you ?

Shivaay chuckled and said : just being you is enough

Anika smiled as he took the knife from the floor and she said ..

Anika : I can't let you go by your own , we will go together and get help..I can't leave any chance of you getting hurt , if something happened to you , I will die , and I won't live one second

Shivaay shook his head and said ..

Shivaay : nothing will happen to me but I can't let you come , I can’t

Anika held his hand and said strictly : we are in heaven or hell together ...plus I have Shivaay with me , who can hurt me when Shivaay with me

Shivaay : I will take some security for the body guards on the mansion and I will face Veer ... and we won't tell the family , they won't let either of us go or understand

Anika nodded yes hard as they both held each other hands and got out

flashback ended

Shivaay as he pressing the knife on Veer ‘s neck ..

Shivaay : god , you are an i***t ..how you thought you will get away with that

the men tried to move towards them but Shivaay pressed the knife on his neck

Shivaay : order your men to go back and no one of them move

Veer : STAND BACK (then he smiled shivery smile and said) my friend ? you will slaughter me for a bad joke

Shivaay :Anika , go untie Rudra

Anika ran to Rudra and looked at him with teary eyes and held his face as he was barely conscience now , he was bleeding heavily from every where

Anika : BHAI ?

Rudra looked at her weakly as she smiled and said ..

Anika : we will get out of her ..we ...

but for her surprise one of the men grabbed her and she screamed as the man put his arm on her neck

and Veer chuckled as Shivaay and Rudra screamed

Veer : good Sultan , good , next time I will get you a gun (then he looked at Shivaay and said) you get the picture now , he will break her neck with one order from me

Shivaay throw the knife on the floor as Veer came out of his grip and took his breath and chuckled ..

Shivaay : let Rudra and Anika go

Veer rolled his eyes and said : and why would I do that ? I don't understand you people

but for Veer surprise a punch came from nowhere and he fell on the ground and looked up and it was Omkara .

Shivaay eyes widen and said: Omkara ? from where you came ?

Omkara smiled and said : I saw your car with Bhabhi so I had to follow you

Veer wiped the blood from his mouth and looked at Omkara angrily ..

Veer : I WANT THEM DEAD

the men came near Shivaay and Omkara and they looked at each other and Omkara nodded to him and Shivaay ran towards Anika and the man holding her throw her to the floor and tried to punch Shivaay but he dodged the punch and started beating the man up as Anika tried to untie Rudra

Rudra :ANIKA LOOK OUT

she looked behind her only to see there was a man who was about to grab her but Omkara punched him and said ..

Omkara : are you okay ?

Anika nodded yes hard but for her surprise she saw ..

Anika : PRIYANKA ?

Shivaay : who ?

and he looked at the door and saw Priyanka standing with wide smile and waving then he got a punch in chin but he returned it back by successive punches

Priyanka : oh sorry bhai

then she ran to Anika and chuckled ..

Priyanka : that seems fun

Anika eyes widen and said : Priyanka ? how you got here

Priyanka : I came to help you Bhabhi , I saw Omkara 's car going , so I thought he probably saw yours and bhai going and I drove behind him

(then she looked at Rudra who was still tied up and she nodded with half open mouth)

Priyanka : he looks in really bad condition

Anika looked at him and nodded and tried to untie him but then she saw Veer running and trying to grab the knife Shivaay thrown

Anika : oh no you don't

and she ran and pulled a metal plate where he was eating and for Shivaay's surprise she jumped on Veer's back and hit him repeatedly with the metal plate on his head ..

Anika: I HATE YOU

Veer screamed and tried to throw her off his back as Priyanka looked at Anika worried then looked around her and saw a plate of food and she took it and throw its contents on Veer's face and for her surprise Veer screamed and crawled as Anika fall from his back and kept hitting him with the light metal plate on his head ..

Anika : I HATE YOU , I HATE YOU

Priyanka looked at the plate confused then she smelled it and her eyes widen and smiled

Priyanka : oh its chili , I am so craving chili

and she sat and started eating as Anika looked at her confused then she saw Shivaay getting a punch from the man he is fighting ..

Anika:SHIVAAAY

and she ran towards him and hit the man with metal plate on his head repeatedly but the man just held his head and turned towards her angrily and she took a step back as Shivaay jumped and gave the man a hit on the back of his head and the man fainted and Shivaay hugged Anika

Shivaay : are you okay ?

Anika nodded yes hard as both went to untie Rudra..

(what is going on here ..?)

Shivaay looked behind him and it was Tej with wide eyes and Priyanka rolled her eyes and said with full mouth with rice

Priyanka : uncle , you always says that. Just ask Veer , he is doing trouble

Tej ran towards Veer who was leaning on the floor , moaning in pain holding his face ..

Tej : my boy ..what they did to you ?

(everyone raise his hands ..)

Shivaay looked at the door as a police man came with a force and everyone raised his hands including Anika and Priyanka who raised her hand with the spoon and full mouth of potatoes

Priyanka : I was just eating , I am innocent

and for their surprise Shakti entered with police officers and said ..

Shakti : it’s Veer Tej Singh Oberoi who kidnapped my daughter in law's brother and here he is tied and tortured

the police man :ARREST HIM

Anika smiled widely as the police held Veer who fought and screamed ..

Veer : STAY AWAY FROM ME , PAPA DO SOMETHING

Tej : SHAKTI , HOW DARE YOU ..ARE YOU MAD , IT'S THE NAME OF THE FAMILY

Shakti : my children where in dangerous ..I don't care about the name

the police took Veer and Tej ran behind him cursing and swearing and with him his men as all Shakti's family .hugged him as he frowned

Shakti : I saw your cars and I had to do something but you all defiantly will be punished , I do not care how old you are , I will punish you all

all chuckled faintly as Anika then remembered Rudra and ran to him and started to untie him with help of Shivaay and Omkara

Anika : bhai , you are going to be okay ..it’s over , you are saved

Shakti : don't worry Anika , the ambulance is here too

Anika smiled and nodded as they successfully untied Rudra , who the minute he got untied he throw himself on Anika who hugged him to support him as he said in low tone

Rudra : I came looking for you so I can ask you for forgiveness but I came to the wrong Oberoi mansion ..I ...I can’t forgive myself for what I did to you ...I love you so much , you are my baby sister , I remembered you are a part of my father and forgot that you are a part of me .

Anika eyes flooded with tears and said : bhai ...it’s not the time for that..you need rest

the paramedics came and took him and she just held his hand ..

Rudra : remember how much I loved you Anika , remember our good days and find a place in your heart to forgive me ..I will be a better person , I am sorry Anika ..I will be sorry for the rest of my life

Anika as tears flow on her cheek : bhai please take rest ..please

he closed his eyes as Anika left his hand and Omkara patted on her shoulder ..

Omkara : I will go with him , don't worry

Anika smiled and nodded as Shivaay hugged her and she leaned on his chest and Shakti and Priyanka who was holding a sandwich hugged her too and she looked at them with teary eyes ..

Anika : thank you , you are the best family any one can ask for .

Shivaay kissed her head and said : finally Veer took something small of what he deserves , its uncle Tej wrath what we have to face!!

Priyanka : I throw chili on his face (then she pouted and said) too bad it was delicious

Shakti scratched her head and said : god bless that head that care for nothing

Shivaay : is that mean we are off the hook ?

Shakti : god no !!
