Matahari's heart was beating faster and louder as she ate. She looked down her feet. It never occured to her that she will meet the man who occupied her thoughts for the past week again. She could feel Olli's eyes focus at her, and she felt as if she was under investigation.
The air lingered coldly, and the music was audible from the restaurant downstairs. However, the both of them wasn't talking at all.
Olli was soon fed up with the silence. He cleared his throat and Matahari looked at him--their eyes met--but before Olli could have spoken, he averted his gaze away from her.
"D-do you not like me, s-sir?" Matahari asked, but she immediately used her hand to cover her mouth. She was thinking loudly.
She expected Olli to find her weird, but he just laughed a bit. "You don't really have to worry aboout that. I have chosen you from the list," Olli said and took a sip from his wine with his left hand. Matahari relaxed.
"So--the contract," Olli said. He looked at Matahari whose eyes were fixed into him again. For the second time, he averted his gaze--he picked up the brown envelop where the contract was attached. He pulled the papers and read them all, before putting them down the table again. "Before this, you should tell me about yourself".
Matahari was becoming more relaxed. She smiled, "I am Matahari Taylor, 25 years old. I work at-"
"The club," Olli continued. Matahari was taken aback, suddenly remembering their kiss--
"And as a cleaner at the Ardenmanor Company,"
"Wait, what?" Olli asked. "My company?"
"I-I didn't know it was your company sir, I just started this week," Matahari said.
"Why are you a cleaner? Did you not graduate?" Olli asked, surprised.
"I... I didn't sir," Matahari said sadly. She looked down the ground.
"I see. I don't really care about that," Olli said, examining her again. "So, living with your mother, eh?"
"Y-yes, sir," Matahari answered, evidently nervous.
"Bust size?" Olli asked in a serious tone.
"36...a..." Matahari answered, flustered. Olli gave her a satisfied groan.
"How are you going to serve me?" Olli asked again. But before Matahari could have spoken, Olli picked the contract, reading it loudly. "These conditions are really wild, have you read them?"
"Yes sir," Matahari said.
"You agree on all of these?" Olli answered and looked at her straight in the eye. To his surprise, Matahari stared back, making him gasp.
"Yes, I do, sir," Matahari answered, smiling faintly.
"Clause one, you agree on all the fantasies of your contract husband," Olli said. Matahari nodded. "Do you know what my fantasies are?"
"No, sir, not yet," Matahari said, sounding nervously.
Olli stood up from his seat and offered her his hand. "Take my hand," he said with a hint of a sadness that he hoped Matahari wouldn't see. Their eyes met again, but this time, it was like she was mirroring his expression.
Matahari took his hand. It was warm and big--so different from Paul who mindlessly drags and hurts her anytime he remembers. She stood up, her hands still clutched by Olli. Despite being considered tall by everyone, she stood in front of Olli like she was a small person--her head merely reaching his chest--
They looked at each other-- obviously captivated by the sight in front of them. Olli tucked Matahari's hair at the back of her ear to see her more clearly. He gasped.
He moved closer to her and held her waist and the back of her head before he enveloped her in a tight hug.
--Matahari never felt anything like it before. Their hearts seemed to be beating as one. The music from downstairs became even more romantic--and somehow, the weather became colder. She felt Olli's breath at the back of her neck and it felt like she was engulfed by the warmth that he had.
"My fantasy is..." Olli said, his hand caressing Matahari's slender back, "passionate love".
Olli looked at her eyes without breaking the hug. His left hand cupped Matahari's cheek. "The second condition was s*x whenever I want," Olli said as Matahari gulped. She felt his body become warmer as he closed in, both hands touching her waist.
"The third is to never leave my side no matter what happens," Olli added. "Do you still agree with the terms and conditions so far?"
"Yes sir," Matahari answered, still looking at Olli's eyes. She too-memorized the contents of the contract as she was advised by Sunset to do so.
"The fourth one is you can never date anyone else except me," Olli said, to which Matahari frowned.
"There's nothing in the contract that states that," she said, even slightly frowning, her voice was soft.
"So you are planning to date anyone beside me then," Olli said, obviously angry and disappointed at her words.
"No I am not, sir," Matahari said and smiled at the thought. "Please go on," she continued.
"The fifth one, I can't hurt you in any way possible, nor can have an offspring with you," Olli said, chuckling. "Seriously what kind of condition is this?" he laughed and broke the hug right away, but he never let go of Matahari's hand who was watching him intently.
"The last one..." Olli said, frowning as he looked at the expression of Matahari. He showed her the paper and pointed at the end of the paper. "You can never fall in love with me," he said, with a tone that Matahari couldn't discern as a happy one.
"I have been briefed by the company regarding that, and sir, I promise, I will stay true to all of the terms and conditions," Matahari said, more comfortable now. However, Olli looked at her, rather disapprovingly.
"That's a terrible thing to say," he said.
"I am willing to make exemptions sir, do you want to have another fantasy--er--have more time alone?" she asked.
"Why would I want that? To let you go date other people?" Olli was mad and that made Matahari panic a little bit.
"Then should I fall in love with you?" Matahari said, another loud thought that she muttered.
"Why would you?" Olli asked, laughing a little bit. Still holding Matahari's hands, he came back to hugging her, but this time, both of his hands. "Will you sign this contract or not?"
"I will sir," Matahari hurriedly said. Olli let her go as Matahari felt so sad to have let go of him. They both signed the contract and she looked at her future husband, clueless about what future lies ahead of them.
