Rayyan's Pov; "I'm so sorry ma'am, we lost him" My mother's loud voice pierced through the silence that followed the doctor's announcement, I can't believe it, I can't wrap my head around this bitter reality that's staring me in the eye I hoped, I prayed, I believed, I imagined that my father would be able to fight back the sickness that held him down, but I guess he got tired from fighting for so long "Please calm down ma'am" A nurse came close and held my hand, I felt her grip tighten as she lowered me to the chair at the corner of the waiting room This was it I knew life was about to take a whole new dimension, with my father gone I was certain my mother and I were going to become slaves. This is what you get when you're a fatherless Omega. Being an Omega entirely in the Delta pack is hell, to think of being a fatherless one, my father was the only reason my mother and I weren't subjected to very harsh labour. Holding my mother down now and looking at my father's pictures in the living room hurt me more than I thought it would, I wasn't very close to my dad so I thought no matter how bad he got it wasn't going to affect me, but there I was wrapped in my mother's cold embrace trying to fight back the tears that soon overpowered me "Before you left last night he asked me to tell you that he is proud of you!" my mother sniffled That was the stroke that broke the camel's back, that was the little push that broke the dam, I burst into tears, I finally gave into reality and let the tears flow with the hope that letting myself I would feel relief, but I didn't, I couldn't. 6months later: For more than two hours I was stuck sorting clothes for Caroline. I want to finish paring the right shoes to her dress and get all the dresses to the car before she returns because I want to speak with my mother. After another ten minutes I was finally done packing everything Caroline instructed me to pack. I had my bath changed my clothes and rushed to see my mother at the worker's quarters before Caroline arrived, I'm meant to accompany her to the festival. "Mum" I crashed myself onto my mother's bed and allowed myself to sink into her warm embrace. At The Festival: "Are you stupid? Do you want to sit with me?" Caroline just wanted to embarrass me, I know that's the reason her voice was so high-pitched "Now leave this table at once" she added with spite First, she wanted me to tend to her with each passing second, now she wants me to leave her table. I never had plans of sitting at the table with her, it has never been heard that a slave joined her master at the table, but she wouldn't stop demanding my help, that's the only reason I thought I could join her. "My apologies" I bowed and turned to leave. "Go to the back of the palace, I'm sure you'll find other wretched people like yourself" Yolanda burst into laughter, she always had something vile to say, she and her best friend were birds of a feather I quietly walked out of the main hall where everyone was gathered and soon located the back of the palace, and as Yolanda said I saw my fellow Omegas. In the Delta pack, all omegas had to wear the colour blue, it's not like we weren't very identifiable, but we were mandated to wear the colour blue. "Do you know that this festival is an ancient Omega ceremony?" I heard a masculine voice in the crowd and I moved closer "Yes! My father told me the story" A lady-like voice echoed in the crowd. I moved in closer to have a better understanding of what the gathering was. It was a large gathering of bitter Omegas like myself who just wanted to voice out their pain to the only other people who cared to listen, and I'm interested in whatever story they wanted to tell. "I was also told as a child how the last Lycan king we had fifty-five years ago found his mate, an Omega" They all gasped "And since then other wolves joined in the festival" The pain in his voice intensified "At some point, they called it the brotherhood festival" "But now the same people they call brothers are put through so much torture as slaves and we die like chickens every day without any notice from our elders or......." He didn't finish his sentence, and suddenly they all began to run In another second the area was devoid of Omegas, I was still confused and tried to figure out why they were running away Immediately I could feel something, strange, but in a good way, it seemed my soul was levitating "Run it's the head Alpha" I was still in utter confusion when someone whispered behind me, and that was when I gathered the courage to run, I didn't want to be punished. I turned around and my eyes fell on the most perfect pair of hazel green eyes in the whole world And then I heard her loud and clear, for the first time "That's him" My wolf announced.
