CHAPTER 11: AN ADVICE; RUNAWAY!.

" I don't think I can go with you I have to go back to work" he said
" This is for the your boss, I'll have Sky call the cafe and inform them you're coming late" she said happily
" Where are we going?"
" So we going shopping!" She announced in excitement, grabbing him towards the elevator.
They got into a car already waiting for them at the entrance, she pulled out her phone texting Sky.
They finally arrived in a designer shop that cost a lot of money, Miles just allowed himself to be dragged by Narl, like why wouldn't he, he was going on a date with Kannan. Okay maybe not a date but Kanaan Hernandez!!. Only the thought of it was thrilling.
" Good morning ma" the lady at the reception greeted
" Good morning Betty, I want your finest suit. He's going to a company dinner, I need something that stands out from the crowd" she said detailing what she wanted.
" Alright ma we have a couple of designs that you would like, we'll get them out, so he could try them"
" That's sounds good with me" she said taking a sit, she eyes fell on Miles who was still standing beside her.
" Are you a bodyguard or something, have a sit".
The lady didn't take long to come back. She was back with three different colored suits, red, blue and white. They all looked really expensive and Miles was reconsidering going to the party.
" These are wool fitted linen suit, they are the best quality you can find" she explained.
" Thank you Betty, here go try them on" Narl said handing the things over to Miles with a smile on her face, he took the suits feeling rather awkwardly and made his way into the changing room. he changed into the different suits and Narl was thrown into a dilemma, she didn't know which suit she wanted Miles to wear because he looked so hot in all.
" How about I go with my favorite color white and it also matches the gown Kanaan is going to wear, we'll go with white" she said happily.
" Alright ma, we'll have it packaged and ready for you" she said collecting the suit from Miles.
" Sky!" She called as her eyes immediately cut a glance of him walking in,
" It's nice you're here, I wasn't able to decide on what color of suit for Miles to wear but it’s sorted out now, I'll go pay the bill and we can leave" she said before walking away.
" You must be proud" Sky voiced
" Excuse me?"
" I didn't realize you were deaf, you must be proud of yourself" he repeated
" Why wouldn't I be proud, I am going to be escorting not just a pretty lady but one of the biggest billionaire's in the world in case you haven't noticed, it not the same as been a secretary' he said staring at him.
" Surely you should definitely feel proud, as a matter of fact go crazy because this opportunity only come once in a lifetime, you know, most times unexpected things actually bring great misfortune rather than fortune. But in your case I actually don't know what I should be telling you" he said with a grin on his face, he was just starting to realize how unlucky Miles was getting, first he started working in a cafe owned by the very person he was suppose to be running away from.
And now he was trying to get close to that exact person he should be staying as far as he could from.
" Why do I feel like you're jealous?" He asked staring at him in the face
" Jealous?" He couldn't help but laugh at Miles's words
" What's so funny?"
" You, it's funny because you're suppose to be running as far as you can but here you are"
" What do you mean by that?"
" It's nothing just a friendly advice" he said placing his arm on Miles.
" I don't need your advice, if I ever need it, I know where to find you" he removed Sky's hand before walking away.

Mile returned back to the cafe and he was ambushed at the door by Adrian
" What did you do for the boss?" He asked in curiosity,
" I'm going to be her escort to the anniversary dinner tonight"
" What? you? Why?" Adrian asked
" Would you let him sit down at least before asking him so many questions and what do you mean by that?"
" Well no offense Miles… you're handsome but you? When she could have picked me? I knew it, I wouldn't have allowed you to deliver her order. I would have delivered it myself" he said with a frown,
" That wouldn't have made any difference because Miss Kanaan doesn't want a frog like you by her side"
" What frog? Me?"
" I don't see any other person"
" To correct you, I am a very good looking man, thank you very much" he said pulling him hair backwards
" Yes he is" Miles replied supporting him.
" You are right, don't support his delusions Miles. Tell me, what are you wearing for the occasion. Miss Kanaan is not just a girl you can escort wearing sweatpants and shirt" Emily said waiting for his response.
" I just got back from the boutique with one of her staff and they got me a suit for it" he said showing them the bag he came back with
" Lucky you, can we trade places please" Adrian said putting his hands together while making puppy dog eyes
" I wish I could"
" You can just call her and say ma I just realized, I'm not that handsome anyways please can you substitute Adrian in my place and she would definitely agree. When she sees my amazing and handsome face"
" Would you get back to work, you keep feeling yourself" Emily voiced tired of listening to Adrian’s rant
" But there is no one here, you are jealous aren't you?"
" And why would I be jealous?"
" I can tell that you are jealous because I'm not falling for you, don't worry baby you'll always be in my heart" Adrian said with a confident smile as he wrapped his hand around her shoulder
" Ewwww, I rather clean the streets with my tongue than to have someone like you admire me" she said removing his hand in a harsh manner
" You see jealousy" Milye couldn't help but laughed at both Adrian and Emily making fun of each other.
" Are you both going to be at the company dinner?" He asked as he finally controlled his laugher .
" Of course we will, if we don't come who else will. it's an invitation for all workers of Beauty mix. No matter the branch." Emily said with a smile
" That's great, I'm looking forward to meeting the both of you there. At least I wouldn't be so bored" Miles said realizing they were the only people he knew.
" Well that's not going to be possible because you'll be sitting with Miss Kanaan herself and she invited just you and not us. So honey, invariably you will actually be bored" Emily explained pointing out the truth to Miles, which he seemed to have forgotten .
Within the next few hours the cafe closed and Mile went back to Beauty mix just like Narl had instructed, he gave her a call on getting to the gate.
Narl didn't take a second, she was already down
" OMG you look stressed" she said as both of them took the elevator to the second floor, it was the company's spa, where they actually sold most of their cosmetics and their body treatment and also gave occasional massage to special client.
" I want you to take care of him, he looks stressed. please give him the best treatment ever" she said before leaving him in the arms of the masseuse.
" Are you really planning on taking Miles along with you to the company dinner" Sky asked still not comfortable with the idea.
" Narl has made up her mind on embarking on this mission to destroy my life" she sighed, she couldn't refuse Narl, that would mean a war she wasn't ready for.
" I was planning on taking Evan along with me but I guess taking Miles won't hurt besides he belongs to me, what do you think?"
" I have no right to an opinion on this issue, it's your choice. if you feel taking him wouldn't hurt then I suggest you do so. And another thing, I came to inform you that our cargo that is to leave for Australia is about to set sail in the next 3 hours" he informed.
" That's good news, I would like to go and see it for myself, just to make sure things are put in order because this is one of the biggest shipping that we have had this year and we can't afford to mess things up with this client" she pointed out before standing on her feet about to leave.
" And where are you off to now?" Narl asked as she walked in
" Out for business"
" Hell no, you should be relaxing. I don't want you to have wrinkles on your skin especially not blood stain"
" I have to go, one of our shipments is leaving and I need to be there to supervise"
" It's still a no"
" Wait can you tell me who the boss here is?"
" Right now I'm using my rights as your friend so tell me when will you’d be back"
" Soon"
" I'm no buying that, the company anniversary party starts in 6hours, I need an exact time"
“Look I already agreed to the company dinner and the escort as well what more do you want”
" I want you to be relaxed before the dinner, I want you to glow and be the only one people would set their eyes and attention on. its our company's anniversary celebration for crying out loud and you are the boss"
" Fine how about I go now so I can come back on time"
" I give you just an hour, just an hour"
" That's not possible but I'll be back soon" she reassured before walking off
" She's such a stressor" she took a breath sitting on the couch
" Oh no the decorations, I haven't checked on them yet" she said springing up and rushing towards the Hall.
