CHAPTER 5: WE'RE DEAD

Kanaan walked into her office along with her secretary Sky, she was still furious about the presentation
" The nerve they have to tell me that was their best" she muttered standing behind her desk
" I'm aware you are pissed right now" Sky said quietly observing Kanaan's disposition
" You have no fuckin clue how pissed I am, I felt like putting a bullet straight through their thick skulls" she said ruffling through some papers on her desk.
" Isn't that a bit too extreme?" spoke Narl as she entered into the office
" And how many times do I have to make it clear to you that you have to knock before entering my office?" Kanaan asked looking up to stare at her
" Well I can't remember because I don't give a damn, ohhh Sky, it's good to see you” she said ignoring Kanaan
" Good morning Miss Narl" Sky greeted
" Baby there's no need for you to be so formal" she said as she gave him a peck on his lips
" Can you not make me see that next time, what the f**k do you want, I have a lot of things I need to handle" she informed her
" Like what? shooting people through their heads?" She asked as she sat on the couch in front of the office.
" And your point is?"
" Sean"
" And what about Sean"
" Don't pretend like you don't know what am talking about, could you be a less strict with everyone. They're all complaining that you are really mean and harsh" Narl explained
" Still can't see your point"
" Alright let's say I don't know you, I would think you're some sort of devil with four horns and a vampire fang protruding out of your mouth, don't you agree Sky that she's being so aggressive and harsh?" she asked, she turned to look at Sky, he looked at her and then back at his boss face and just gave her a smile.
" You see, Sky can't even be honest because he's scared of you"
" This is the only way I know best, I want to protect my company the best I can"
" I know that, I'm just saying you could be a little bit less strict, for example going through the proposal from beginning to the end and then pointing out what the team needs to work on, not just cancelling the whole proposal."
" I don't see how this is any of your concern, it wasn't your group, why are you so interested in it?" She asked, she knew her best friend more than anyone and she could tell there was a reason behind the interest.
" Could you stop being a meanie for once and just do this for me please, when you get home settle down and read the proposal again, I'm sure there's something you may like in it"
" I'm not making any promises, I'm too busy for that"
" I'll make sure you're reminded and Sky is the right man for the job, make sure you remind her to go through the files again". Sky nodded in confirmation to her instructions
" Good, I can leave you now to your bullets and guns" she said before turning around to leave
" Would you smile please, the whole world is still standing you know"
" Get out of my office already" Kanaan said pointing towards the door
" Yeah, Yeah I'm leaving, bye" she waved
" How on Earth did I become friends with her again" she asked herself out loud to Sky's hearing, which made him smile, Narl had been one of the best things that had ever happened to Kanaan, ever since she became the CEO at a very young age. Narl always brightened the mood and she was the only one she actually listened to.
" What's with the smile?" she asked Sky who was still caught up in the little friendship moment they had.
'' Nothing ma" he lied
" you may go back to work"
" Before leaving I want to inform you that Mr Philip is waiting for you back at home"
" Why the f**k are you just telling me this?" kanaan asked looking very frustrated
" You were in a meeting"
" Don't remind me, this sounds like good news, finally something to make my blood boil, get the car ready we leave in 5" she commanded

Sky prepared the car and was ready to drive to the house, he drove a distance when he remembers Kanaan's favourite coffee and cake which she loved to have around this time in the morning, he decided to stop the car at the cafe before going home.
He walked into the cafe while she waited outside in the car, Emily went into the storage room to get more supplies because the orders were becoming too much meanwhile Adrian was nowhere to be found, he was busy taking his time in the locker room, Miles on the other hand was busy taking orders and serving the tables that were filled up with people.
Sky walked in and straight up to the counter
" Where the hell is everyone?" he asked
Miles noticed the gentleman with an angry expression close to the counter and he made his way towards him with a smile
" Good morning" he greeted, Sky looked at Miles, this was definitely his first time seeing him in the cafe
" You work here?" He asked, Miles felt that Sky was a bit rude to ask him such a question
" Yes I do" he answered
" How?"
" I was employed, like everyone with a job" he answered getting more pissed with Sky's questions
" Klus never listens" he whispered to himself
" Anyways I want choco milk latte and lemon flavored cake" Sky said
" Alright could you please sit a bit, we are a little bit busy as you can see. Your orders will get ready pretty soon" he said pointing to an empty table
" I'm sorry, I don't wait in line, I always placed my order every morning before coming to get it" he explained, something about Miles made Sky feel a bit uneasy.
" Ohhhh, well I'm new here"
" That's obvious"
" I'll suggest you wait for the others, they will come out soon"
" I can't do that, please go ask Emily where she kept the order" Sky instructed getting really impatient.
" Alright" Miles answer as he turned around to leave for the storage
" Don't worry, I'll go check myself" Sky said
" I don't think I can allow you go back there" Mile said as he blocked the entrance with his arm
" What is your problem, would you move" Sky stared at Miles really pissed.
" No sir, I suggest I go to check for you"
" And I don't want you to check anymore, I want to check it myself I'm becoming impatient with you" Sky pointed out
" I have to disagree with you sir, I'm new here and I don't want to lose my job yet" he said arguing
" If you don't move none of us would have our jobs anymore, now move"
" What's going on here?" asked a very familiar voice from behind
" Ma" Sky said as he gave Mile a death stare
" The prince is back and ready to serve yooouuu!!" Adrian shouted as his pushed open the door of the locker room the smile on his face, the smile soon disappeared immediately his eyes saw Kanaan standing with by the counter looking very pissed.
" We are dead" he whispered underneath his breath but Miles could hear.
