The World Where She Fits

The sky is full of stars shining through the night while I feel the gentle breeze touching my face. It gives me a little shiver but I didn't mind at all. Not because it was cold but because of what was about to happen. I don't I think I'm ready for it. Even if I postponed it to a later date still it'll happen, so why not get through it? And that's why I am here. From where I am, I can see people coming in. People that have a name in society. From politics, businessmen, mistresses to big-time dealers of any kind except, of course, drugs. They are Dark Circles clients, accomplices, partners, you name it. But they're not technically part of the DC Org. They're here for my welcome party. Tonight, the Grand will introduce me to this world as his Heiress, the one who will take over the DC Org., when the right time comes. I tried to live like a normal person but being the daughter of the powerful person in the Black Market and the Crown Princess of Kingdom of Daichi, and also being the youngest heiress of Davies, that's not possible. Danger follows me everywhere as I love to face danger itself. And my damn status will never let me at peace. Then, the time came that I have to leave my so-called normal life and live like a Princess, like in a fairy tale. As I was given the responsibility to make a move to secure our people. But I guess it's not for me. I didn't fail with what I'm about to do. I just didn't fit at all. Being a Princess is not my cup of tea, though I can still pull it off if I really wanted to. But my sister, being the big sister that she is, sacrificed her own freedom just to let me be free from the weight on my shoulder. To be able with someone who she thinks can make me happy. But we're too late, for he is now bound, by his word, to some else. That left me wondering. I didn't fit in the normal world, much more in the fairytale-like world. Where will I fit? There's only one option now, living in the dark world. Is this the world where I truly fit? I sigh, bring the glass of wine to my lips and take a sip. The warm liquid help me ease a bit as I swallowed. I can't deny the fact that I'm a little bit nervous facing the people in this whole new world. I'm just glad that the whole part of DC is on my back. Well, not all really. For I am aware that there are members from my Father's Huddle that secretly turn their back to us. Waiting for a perfect time to attack. The time that I was introduced as an Heiress to DC Org. comes to mind. That was a month ago, two weeks after I was dragged by my mother out of CAU and out of Megacity. For two weeks, I stayed in Iceland. My father won't allow me to go anywhere. I was definitely grounded for acting like a b***h. And I can't blame him. It was all my fault. I was not myself after everything. After two weeks, I was called to Germany Base. They won't tell me the reason why. I was escorted by Leo and Jana. I've seen both familiar and unfamiliar faces when I arrived. Wondering why there are a lot of members in the base. It seems like there was an assembly. Which is actually true. Ironic. Dad called me Princess which I literally am. But still it's different. Dahil alam kung iba ang kahulugan ng pagtawag niya sa akin ng ganoon. "Come with me, my baby." Mom holds my hands and ushered me upstairs. I rolled my eyes at the way she called me. She's like Kuya Shi, for the two of them, I am always their baby girl. We end up in their room. May pinindot lang si Mom na button sa gilid at bumukas ang isang secret door. Tumambad sa akin ang isang kwarto na puno ng mga iba't ibang klase ng admit. "Since your sister decided to take your place in the Palace. And your brother is the Heir to the Throne in our Kingdom. No one will take the DC Org's Heiress post but you." She looky at me with a smile. "Tonight, the Grand will introduce you to all the members as the DC Org Heiress." Nanlaki ang mga mata ko sa narinig. Never did I want something like this yet it is given to me. I only want to live a normal life. But I guess my life wasn't normal since I was born. I close my eyes tightly and sigh. "I don't have a choice, right?" I asked when I open my eyes. "You do have a choice, baby." Mom cupped my cheeks. "We won't force you if you don't want to." "But I know that I was the only one can do, Mom." I faintly smile. "Maybe this is the world where I truly fit." "Are you sure? You know I hate imposing any of my children, especially my youngest." She said while lovingly caressing my face. "I'm sure, Mom." I nod firmly at her. "Well then, choose what to wear tonight." She motion all the clothes in front of us. Isa-isa kung tiningnan ang mga damit. I choose black jeans, a gray fitted shirt with a black leather jacket. I get the black boots that almost reach my knees. Also, a half mask that will cover half of my face. Mom looks at me with a raising eyebrow. "I'm not yet ready to let everyone see my face," I explained. "But they already saw you when you came in," she frowns. "Nope. I was wearing my sunglasses then." She shrugged her shoulder and let me be. Lumabas na kami ng secret room at bumalik sa room niya. Iniwan niya ako para makapagpahinga. May ilang oras pa bago mag-umpisa. Aries is known as an infamous assassin yet he is a sociable fellow. Who knows that behind the charming smile that he wears is a dangerous person inside? No one except us. "Anyway, I'm here to escort you downstairs," he said after a while. "They can't wait forever for you to show up on your own." "Dumating na ba lahat ng bisita?" Walang ganang tanong ko. Naglalakihan ang mga nagkikislapan nilang mga alahas. I am kinda intimidated with their looks. I am wearing a bloody red sleeveless gown that reaches to my feet. The two small straps of my gown are made of lace with a golden design. My accessories are simple gold earrings and a necklace. The only difference is my half mask. Compared to the guests, I am wearing nothing. Yet, all eyes focus on me the moment Aries and I step into the room. Maybe because I am with Krazer Heart Fyndell, which is quite popular, especially with the ladies. I can feel my heart start hammering in my chest. Good thing I was holding Aries's arms. "And now, let's welcome Mr. Raze Fyndell. With him is our very own Lady Bethany, the Heiress of Dark Circle Organization," the host voice's boom. Everyone stands up and claps their hands as a sign of welcoming me. After that, the party started, and my father introduced me to almost everyone. Nang magkaroon ng pagkakataon ay umupo ako sa pinakasulok. I'm tired and I don't want to be the center of attention again. But my simple wish to stay at the side was not heard. The son of Germany's Minister of Finance asked me to dance. And being a good daughter I accepted his offer which I regretted afterward. Isa siya sa pinakamayabang na taong nakilala ko. I wanted to say thanks to the person who decided to take that son of a b***h place. But I can't find my voice when I see the guy who gets my hands and puts it in his shoulder before he settles his hands in my waist. "Chase..." I murmured in a shaky voice. Damn! I miss him! It's a month and a half since I last saw him. "Why are you here?" I can't help but ask. "I was not able to come when you are introduced to all DC Org members as the Heiress." "And?" "I'm here to pledge my loyalty." He kissed my forehead and stop swaying with the beat of the music. He drops down on his one knee, like a Knight, that earns gasps from around us. People from the dance floor stop dancing and fall back. "I, Rayon Chase Scamper, son of Huddle Head Rayn Scamper, pledge my loyalty to you, Heiress. From here on I will be following your command, I will be your trusted subordinate and I swear to be loyal to you whatever happens. I will stay beside you and fight with you. You will be my one and only Heiress." I don't know what to do. I am so flustered with what he's doing. But I won't deny the fact that I'm flattered and glad that despite our situation he's still willing to stay by my side. Even though it will hurt us both he's still willing to fulfill his duty. I am aware that with me being an Heiress now, DK and BA will become one. After a few seconds, DC Org members that are present in the party follow suit. They also pledge their loyalty. My heart swelled with pride looking at everyone, especially the Keys giving their trust to me as their Heiress. Keys are loyal to the Grand, everyone knows that. This might not be bad at all, living in this kind of world. Maybe this is where I truly fit. Not in ordinary normal life, not being a Princess but being an Heiress. I offer my hand to Chase, when he accepted it, I held his hand firmly and nodded. It means I accepted him and his loyalty along with the others. He stands beside me while I acknowledge the others who also pledge their loyalty. Everyone stands behind me letting others know that they will follow my lead. When I look at the crowds, they have unbelievable looks on their faces. They may be not expecting me to be accepted like that. Because some of them deem that I am not worthy as an Heiress. I am well aware that some of them are also accomplices of the Huddles who are trying to oust my father. I smirk in their reaction and vowed myself. I will let them see what kind of Heiress I am. I will put them in their right places. I will show no mercy to people who don't deserve it. But I will be a fair Heiress to our Members. My life as an Heiress starts here. And it will revolve in the darkness of my chosen world. The coming days will be a big change for me. They will see a new Shandra Bethany Davies. For I will no longer hold back myself. What's ahead of me is shady and not clear. I don't have any idea where all of this leads me into. All I know is this is not easy as being a Princess. Though I know that I have the means to do everything I want. And that's what I'm a little afraid about. What if I will get used to getting everything I wanted and I will totally succumb to the darkness? What if I lost the light or carelessly tossed it away? I just wish that I won't be lost the light in this darkness being an Heiress.
