TWWF 10: Declaration of War

Chase POV

I can't help but smile after meeting Shandra in our Sanctuary this afternoon. It is my very first truest smile since the day she left to fulfill her responsibilities and back free from it. I am looking forward in the coming days. How Shandra will do everything she can to fight for me, for our love.

"I will always be waiting for you Shan, how long it may take."

After hearing what I said, she takes out her phone from her jacket's pocket and call someone. Wondering who she called, I heard her mention a very familiar name.

"Aries, I want everything and anything about Hilary Breena Lee." She put him on speaker.

I am awed the way she said those words to Aries. Right in front of me now is not the Shandra I used to know. It is one of her side I haven't get to see yet, until today. She's not the like to give command. She refers everyone as equal. But now, she clearly uses her authority and out of all it's Aries. Her closest Key member.

"Chase fiancée?" Aries nonchalantly asked. You can hear the bitter taste the way he said those words. "Why?"

"I want Chase," Shandra stated without any further explanation.

"That all I want to hear." I can imagine Aries smiling. "I'm on it, from the tiniest details up to the deepest secret. Good luck, my lady."

"Thanks, Aries." The called ended and Shandra look at me. "Do you believe me, Chase? I'm sorry but going to do everything to break your engagement with her. I started, so, there's no holding back now."

I walk towards her until I am only inches away. I cupped her cheeks and smile at her. "I believe you, Shan. And I am not going to stop you." I held her close and kiss her forehead. "Thank you, for fighting for me. I've never wanted anything but you. If this is the only way to have you, I will let you."

"I love you so much Chase," she murmured while hugging me tightly. "I can't and I won't give you up. Not to anyone else."

"You seem so happy, Bro." Vash tapped my shoulder as he and Ash joined me in the terrace of our HQ.

I decided to stay in the HQ after talking to Shandra. I don't want to spoil my happiness in case Breena will be waiting for me in my condo. Even though she can't enter my unit without my permission.

"Is it really that obvious?"

"Yeah, it is." It's Ash who answered.

"I talked to Shandra," I started, "she said she wants me back."

"Is she going to fight for you?" Ash asked.

"That explains why you are happy. Since you can't do anything to break the engagement because you gave them your word, Shandra will do it for you, right?" Vash said.

"Good luck, Bro." Ash smile though worries can be seen in his face. "Surely, Breena's father will not be an easy opponent."

"If there's one thing that can guarantee Breena's safety without marrying you Chase, that will be DC Org.," Vash said it matter-of-factly. "Now that Shandra will be involve, DC Org will be involved too."

"I don't want to drag DC Org into this because this is a personal matter but I think I can't help it now that Shandra decided to be involve in my business. And I'm not going to stop her. You know I don't want anything but Shandra." I said looking at the never-ending darkness of the night.

Shandra POV

Three motorbikes with Black Angels insignia simultaneously park at the assigned parking space inside the CAU College Campus. After a while I am able to use White Shadow again and drive to school with my members. Though we are lacking three members, I'm still glad that there's nothing change. We are still Black Angels whatever happens.

Just when we secured the locks of our motorbikes, Dark Knights came. Unlike us, they were using their cars. At dahil katabi lang naman ng BA ang parking space ng DK, inantay na namin silang makababa. As usual, the attention of the students darted to us.

"Good morning," nakangiting bati ni Ash sa lahat ng makababa sa kotse niya.

"Morning," sagot naman ni Laxus habang ako at si Ace ay tumango lang dito. Binati di namin si Vash ng makababa ng kotse.

Huling bumaba si Chase na agad tumango kina Laxus at Ace saka lumapit sa akin. "Good morning," bati niya sa akin.

"Morning, Chase." I kissed his cheek. Natigilan siya sa ginawa ko ganun din ang mga kaibigan namin. At sa palagay ko, ganun din ang nangyari sa mga estudyanteng nakakita sa ginawa ko. They are not expecting me to do something bold especially if Breena might be around. But I meant to do it. It is my declaration. My declaration of war.

"What are you doing, Shan?" Laxus ask with a knotted forehead. "Maraming nakatingin sa atin."

"I know, Lax. It is my declaration of war."

"What are you talking about Shan? Is there something you didn't tell us?" It's Ace this time.

"I'm going to fight for what is mine, Ace. I want Chase." I said with confident and look at him in the eye then to Laxus. "Are you with me?"

A smile broke in their lips. "Of course," Laxus answered. "We all are, right?" binalingan niya sina Ace, Ash and Vash. Sabay naman na tumango ang tatlo at ngumiti.

I murmured a thanks to them and smile. Ng tumingin ako kay Chase, nakangiti rin siyang tulad ko. Masaya ako at buo ang suporta nila sa gagawin ko at kahit wala dito ang iba, alam ko na susuportahan din nila ako.

"Let's go?" Sabay kaming naglakad paalis ng parking lot. I was holding Chase arms. Hindi nakalampas sa mga mata ko ang kakaibang tingin na binibigay ng ibang estudyante sa akin. They might be thinking I don't have any shame to act this way, but I don't care. Sa mga susunod na araw tiyak ko na mas malala pa ang hindi magandang salita na maririnig ko.

Hinatid nila ako sa BMD building, at sa sulok ng mga mata ko napansin ko si Breena na nakatingin sa amin. Her eyes are glued in my hands in Chase arms. Kahit wala akong napansin na expression sa kanyang mukha, alam ko na galit siya dahil mapapahiya siya sa ginawa ko.

Lunch time. Wala pa ang iba ng dumating ako ng main cafeteria. Pagpasok ko pa lang ramdam ko na ang mata ng lahat na nakatingin sa akin. Even though I haven't heard anything I'm aware that I am their topic before I entered. Hindi ko lang binigyang pansin ang lahat at dumiretso sa table namin.

Minutes later, someone occupied the seat in front of me. I look up only to see a smiling Breena but with fiery eyes looking at me.

"Whoa, I feel like burning with the way you look at me," I smiled at her. Biglang nawala ang ngiti niya dahil sa sinabi ko pero nananatili pa rin siyang nakatingin sa akin ng masakit.

"What you do think you're doing? You don't have any shame?" Breena said out loud letting everyone in the cafeteria hear.

"What did I do?" nagmaang-angan kong sagot kahit alam ko kung ano ang tinutukoy niya.

"You b***h!" she shouted.

I shrugged my shoulder and smile. "I had my fair share of being called names. Calling me b***h is nothing new."

"So? What should I call you? A mistress? A relationship wrecker? Or a w***e who's trying to get herself to my fiancée?"

Umayos ako ng upo, ipinatong ko ang aking mga kamay sa mesa at diretsong tumingin kay Breena. "Don't be so full of yourself Breena. Fiancée? Do you really think that all of the people here are referring you as Chase fiancée? You are wrong cause for those people you are nothing but a third party. A girl who get in our way and ruin what Chase and I had."

Natahimik siya sa sinabi ko. Sa dulo ng mga mata ko ay nakita ko ang pagpasok nina Haven at Ember sa cafeteria kaya minabuti ko ng tumayo. I don't think I will be able to digest my food if I eat here. Besides, we already got the attention of the students in the cafeteria. Kaya mas mabuti pa siguro na ayain ko na lang sila Haven at Ember na sa labas ng campus kumain.

"You have ears, why not try to listen the voices and whispers of your surroundings, dear?" sabi ko sa kanya bago tumalikod para umalis. Bago tuluyang umalis ay may pahabol pa akong sinabi sa kanya. "Besides, I already declared my war."

"That was Breena, right?" salubong sa akin ni Haven. Bahagya niyang sinulyapan ang pinanggalingan ko.

"Yeah," I shrugged my shoulder. "Let's go eat somewhere," aya ko sa kanila sabay tulak sa kanila ng marahan palabas ng main cafeteria.

"Why? She did something on you?" asked Ember worried.

"No Em, do you think I will allow her to do something on me?"

"Knowing you, you won't allow it. Then, why I feel like you're running away?"

"I hate it when I am in the center of everyone's attention, you both know that." I smiled at them, "and I already declared to her that I'm going to get what is mine."

"What?" Haven exclaim looking back at me.

"You heard it right Ve, I want Chase back."

"At long last you're going to fight for Chase," Ember let out a sigh, "I'm so glad. Chase deserves it, Shan. He did so much for you. It is just right that you fight for him."

"Ember's right, Shan. I'm also glad you finally decided to do it." Haven said smiling. "This calls for a celebration, let's go."

They happily walk towards the gate and out of school. I just let the two of them drag me out somewhere. They're not even bother that we still had a class this afternoon.

Ng makauwi ako ng bahay kinagabihan, sinalubong ako ng kakaibang katahimikan. The lights are on, and if seems like nothing happened but it was eerily silent. The silence almost deafens me when I came in. Wala akong nakita na kahit isang katulong at wala din si Nana Wanda sa kusina. It's almost dinner time that's why I wonder where are the others.

Nawala ang pag-aalala ko at napalitan ng pagtataka ng pagbalik ko ng sala ay may nakita akong mga lalaking tila tuod na nakatayo sa gitna ng sala.

"Good Evening, Lady Bethany!" they greeted in chorus while I was wondering what my mother's men doing here.

I heard steps coming down from the stairs and I turn around to see my mother with a knotted forehead. I waited her to come and kiss her in the cheeks.

"Evenin' Mom," I greeted and ask "why are you here?'

"I came to check how my youngest is," she while giving me a rough hug. "Well, you seem fine."

Kumalas siya sa pagkakayakap sa akin at tinungo ang sofa at umupo. Sinundan ko siya ng tingin pero hindi ako sumunod sa kanya. I waited what my mother really wanted to say. She will not come here with her men if she's just going to check on me. Seems like she's going to drag me out of this place.

"What do you think you're doing, Princess?" She asked looking at me intently.

"What do you mean, Mom?"

"Why are still here? Why you didn't go to us?"

"Is it about, Chase?"

She nodded, "He's already engaged with someone else, Princess. There's no need for you to stay here and hurt yourself. Come with me, stay with us, 'kay?"

"I'm sorry, Mom, but I won't leave. I promise that I will fight for me. I promise to get him. I want Chase back, Mom."

Inabot ako ni Mommy at ipinaloob sa yakap niya. "I know how you love each other but you will both in trouble if you will continue this. This is not a simple mess, Shan."

"I'm aware of that, Mom –"

"You don't have the power to fight them, Shan." She cut me off. "You can't carelessly involve in this mess."

"But –"

"No buts, you're coming with me." Tinanguan ni Mom ang isa sa mga tauhan para hawakan ako.

No, I refused to leave, not now. Tumayo ako at hinarap ang tauhan ni Mom. Sinalubong ko siya ng kamao ng malapit na siya sa akin na ikinagulat ng lahat. The others take into their position. I think they were already inform that I will come with silently. When I glance my mother, she wears a smirk.

I stay alert and focus while facing them. I'm aware that I can't beat all of them. All I need is to get away from them. But before we can start the fight, I notice a dangerous person coming towards me from the back. I spun around and attack him but not able to land a punch. He just took a step, hold my wrist and sneak his hand into my nape. Before I know it, I black in his arms.

"I'm sorry, My Little Lady," the last thing I heard before I lost consciousness. When I wake up, I was in my room in our house in Iceland. Away from Megacity and away from Chase.
