Chapter 45 - The Charity Event
Fancy cars arrived one after the other at the curb, just outside of The St. Regis’ New York Hotel where the event was to be held. Spotlights waved from side to side at the entrance, beaming powerfully out into the star-filled sky above. The sound of casual relaxing music could be heard in the entryway to the grand hotel as well-dressed guests made their way inside, in either pairs or small groups. The women were wearing extravagant gowns ranging in a variety of designers and styles. Expensive jewellery donned their ears, necks and even fingers as they held onto their partner’s arms. Plastering smiles on their faces, they happily chatted amongst themselves as privileged people often did at events such as this.
