Esme and Carlisle had dropped Bella and Rhea off at Charlie’s yesterday in the afternoon, both promising Esme to rest after what happened. Even if Rhea didn’t know what happened to Bella before she arrived at the Cullen’s house.
Before Edward found her.
“You sure I can’t kill them?” Rhea asked while making breakfast.
Bella stared at the table in front of her, yawning.
Rhea put a glass of orange juice in front of her.
“It wouldn’t take much to find them,” she added.
“If Edward isn’t allowed to hurt them, then you’re not allowed to find them,” Bella said.
“Their bodies won’t be found,” Rhea replied.
Bella smacked a spot where a bruise had been, they had healed in her morning shower.
“At least you didn’t punch, you need to stop hitting things that might break the bones in your hand,” Rhea added.
“You’re like stone,” Bella said.
“I can’t promise that Nico or Will won’t do anything, once they found out,” Rhea said looking at the bandages around her wrist, something that Carlisle said that she had to wear if she didn’t want to be questioned about it.
Did Rhea think anyone would ask her about the injuries?
No.
Did she think Bella was going to be asked questions by Jessica.
Very much so.
“Today’s the day we face the music,” Bella said.
Rhea placed a bowel in front of her, before grabbing her own large plate.
“You look normal, no more bruising,” Bella said, “at least Dad won’t freak out.”
Rhea knew her bruises were gone, no one would know that she almost died the day before. Or more accurately that she had been in a battle that if she and Apollo had lost, then the world would have been destroyed.
“Water, Bells,” Rhea said, “it’s magical for me anyway.”
“I left my jacket in Jessica’s car,” Bella said.
“Then I’ll pray that Nemesis makes the converasation short or she’ll have revenge on the person asking highly personal questions,” Rhea said.
“You really are a pain.”
“I’m taking that as a compliment.”
“Dad blames himself for what happened to you.”
“He has no reason to, I told him that I would be fine, it’s not his dault I got into a fight with a pissed off Roman Ruler with a god complex.”
“He thinks he shold have stayed at home,” Bella said shrugging, “he’s used to living by himsef.”
“And we’re used to looking after ourselves,” Rhea said picking up her bagpack, “at least me and those at Camp Hakf-blood are used to pulling outselves out of deadly situations.”
“Something else is going to happen, isn’t it?” Bella asked getting her own bag.
“You’re living with a demigod and now have befriended vampires,” Rhea said putting her lunch box into her bag.
Bella doing the same.
“Of course something is going to happen,” Rhea said.
“Come on, the sooner we get this over with,” Bella said.
Rhea knew she should say something, if Bella needed to gather her courage.
Jessica was not physically scary. She just had a habit of asking way too many questions and was good at dragging infomation from most people, Bella was getting better at telling her to back off something.
More so if she didn’t want to tell her something. Since anything that was told to Jessica was bound to make it’s way around the school before the day was done.
Rhea would just stare at Jessica, if she wanted to continue pushing for infmation. It meant that most of Jessica’s friends thought that Rhea was a stuck-up b***h and she didn’t care.
“Let’s go,” Bella said.
Rhea laughed, since the moment they walked out of the door. Edward was waiting for them in his car, Alice waving from the back.
“Thought you two would like a lift,” Edward said.
Rhea could have sworn she could blond hair in the back, Jasper, most likely. To find Alice or Jasper, you only had to look for the other.
“It would save fuel and money,” Rhea said.
“Says the girl with her godly father’s card,” Bella said.
“Can’t charge everything to him,” Rhea said walking to the back of the car, while Bella sat in the front.
“Okay, fancy car owner,” Bella said.
“I have been alive since 1918,” Edward replied.
“And I own a Japanese motorbike,” Rhea said shrugging.
Alice was in the middle.
“Besides, that would leave enough time to earn more money, thank you for leaving the cheap cars for those who can’t afford better,” Rhea said.
“Jasper has a motorbike,” Alice said, “you two should go to a motorbike ring, have a few rounds.”
“How fast does this car go?” Rhea asked.
“You asked for it,” Jasper said.
Rhea looked at him, grinning. She didn’t mind speed one bit.
Bella, on the other hand, looked at Edward with wide eyes before he pulled out of the driveway.
Rhea was sure that when he pulled into the parking lot at school, she was grinning like an i***t.
“I’ve befriended and adopted speed freaks,” Bella groaned.
“I have to find a motorbike that goes that fast,” Rhea said.
She was most likely proving Bella’s point, but she didn’t care one but about it.
“Achilles Curse, Bells,” Rhea said. “the worse thing that would happen is a few brusies. Most of those are really easy to hide.”
“Just add water,” Bella muttered leaving Edward’s car.
Rhea following shortly afterwards.
“Isn’t there a show with that name?” Rhea asked.
“I think so,” Bella said looking around the carparl, her face going a slight shade of red.
Rhea stared at Edward.
He looked away from her sister.
“Let’s get to class, I’m sure Jessica will catch up to you, eventually, most likely sooner than you would like,” Rhea said.
--
“I hate it when you’re right,” Bella said sitting next to her, they were waiting for their Trig class to start.
Rhea had gone to class first, when Bella spotted sone of her friends talking in the hallway. Rhea might have wanted nothing to do with them, but she would not force people to stau with her all the time.
“What did I get right?” Rhea asked.
“Jessica,” she replied.
“What happened?” Jessica asked walking towards them, grabbing a chair before sitting in front of them, “after you came back with Edward?”
“Do you have my jacket?” Bella asked.
“Yes, but first you have to tell me what happened after you left with Edward,” Jessica said.
Rhea glared at her.
Jessica seemed to shrink in her seat.
“She doesn’t have to tell you anything she doesn’t want to,” Rhea said tapping her fingers against her thigh.
“He took me to dinner, then we talked until Alice called Edward,” Bella said.
“There has to be more informaiton than that,” Jessica said pouting staring at him, “did anyone try to flirt with him? Were they pretty? What did you talk about?”
“They had to leave early,” Rhea said nodding, “I had an accident in the forest, I’m sure that it would’ve cut any conversation they were having short.”
“Are you okay? That must have been the reason you weren’t in yesterday,” Jessica said looking at Rhea’s wrist, spotting the bandages.
“I had a bit of a fall when hiking, I just landed on my wrist a bit wrong,” Rhea said picking up her pen with her left hand, she was lucky she could write with both hands without giving away that her right wrist was fine, “it shouldn’t take too long to heal and I’ll be fine afterwards.”
“You’re going to sit with them again?” Jessica asked.
Rhea and Bella stared at her like she had grown another head.
“The Cullens table,” Jessica said.
“Most likely, I mean, Jasper and I were in the middle of a conversation about Ancient Greeks and their Gods,” Rhea said glancing at Bella for a second before coughing into her hand.
She had been talking with Jasper and Alice about her interactions with the Greek Gods, along with her brief interactions with Egyptians Gods and the Norse Gods.
“And I’m sure Bella and Edward would like to revisit their conversation about Wuthering Heights, even if I prefer the Three Musketeers,” Rhea said.
“As in the BBC show?” Jessica asked.
“The shows good too,” Rhea admitted.
She and Jessica started talking about the BBC verison of the The Musketeers, along with how sad they were that it only had three seasons and how they would have liked more.
--
Rhea allowed Alice to gently pull her towards their table, making her sit between Jasper and herself.
Bella giggled in her as she sat between Alice and Edward. Emmett sitting next to Edward and Rosalee.
“What’s with the sour look?” Rhea said staring at Edward with a raised eyebrow, “if you keep that facial expression I’m going to forever dub you sour patch.”
“He can’t read your or Bella’s minds,” Alice said.
Edward glared at her.
Jasper raised an eyebrow.
“Mum says I’m an open book,” Bella said.
“He’ll be a real sour puss if he ever goes to New Rome... if there wasn’t that barrier,” Rhea admitted putting her hand in her lap.
Jasper sliding his lunch tray in front of her before back to his conversation with Rosalee.
“So many people,” she said, “he won’t be able to read any of their mind, use their thoughts again them.”
“Road trip,” Emmett said.
“I shouldn’t have said anything,” Rhea said going to slap herself in the face.
Jasper caught her wrist before she could.
“Not hitting yourself in the face,” Jasper said.
Rhea poking her tonhue out at him before eating when he brought from the cafeteria.
“You wouldn’t want to brusie such a pretty face,” Bella joked.
Edward placed his tray in front of her.
“You are never to meet Will in real life,” Rhea delcared with a huff, “or Nico or Jake, I swear to Mars that you won’t.”
“Will already have me his number, along with Nico and Jake,” Bella said.
“They have a phone?” Rhea asked.
“Jake made one that’s safe,” Bella said.
“Son of a..” Rhea said before cursing in Ancient Greek.
“Such language isn’t becoming of a pretty lady,” Bella said.
“Will? Nico? Jake?” Rhea asked.
Bella grinned before eating the food in front of her.
Rhea rolled her eyes before she went back to her lunch, giving Jasper his tray back before Alice slipped her tray in front of her.
“How?” Edward asked.
“I’m Greek and Roman,” Rhea said, “if we’re not making fun of each other’s names, then we’re giving each other strange nicknames.”
“Strange nicknames?” Jasper asked.
“Sea Princess.” Rhea thought she might as well tell them one of her nicer nicknames she had been given, which had come from Clarisse of all people. “Prinkipissa tis thalassas or Principessa del mare.”
“We’re still going to Settle this weekend?” Alice asked.
“Yes,” Bella said.
Rhea nodding.
“But you most likely already saw that happening, huh, Alice?” Bella asked.
“As long as there’s a bookstore involved, I don’t mind being turned into a breathing barbie foll,” Rhea informed Alice, hoping that if she had someone willing to play dress up, then she would leave Bella alone.
Renee being the only she’s do it for.
So Rhea would play dress up, she knew it was better in the long run, since she had to do with Aphrodite and her children before. Aphrodite had sent her clothing during her time in Arizona before.
“We’re going to have so much fun, Rhea,” Alice said grabbing her, lacing their fingers together after Rhea had cleaned her hands with a handkercheif. “I know the best stories, along with a few book stories for you, Bella and Jasper.”
