Chapter Sixteen. They found Toby, Jacob and Silver sitting in the library it took awhile to find them, when they did Indigo greeted them with pure excitement. "Look who I found" she said beaming with happiness again, "He's the real deal" she added "You must be Merlin then" Toby said, instantly guessing, by Indigo happiness it was hard not to know who he was. "I am" he answered, "You guys got yourself in some trouble, finding it hard to get back, aye" Merlin remarked "I didn't need to tell him, it's all real" Indigo gushed still smiling largely. Jacob shook his head at her finding it hard not to smile at her excitement, it was kind of infectious. "So guess the question is, can you get us back to our time?" Silver asked not messing around, she really wanted to get back. "I'm not sure yet" Merlin admitted, "I'm not saying it's impossible either, I'm just gonna have to figure out how it works first" "Easy, we walk into a invisible gate and end up somewhere we don't expect." Silver answered. "Yes I saw that, but it's a bit more deeper than that, we have to figure out if there is one gate or more, if there's more which ones yours" Merlin explained. "That's what I thought too" Jacob told him. "Your not wrong to think that" he answered. "I must go and finish the jobs I have but I will keep you posted on my findings" Merlin promised. Without a moments thought he was leaving the group, just as they heard his name being called. "That was good timing" Silver stated "Probably saw that coming" Indigo said, still in awe of Merlin. "Do you think he's going to be able to help us?" Silver asked them as she walked herself over to the window "If anyone can, I guess it would be Merlin" Jacob said looking up from the book he was reading. The library had fast become their place to be. Mainly because most of the time they were alone there and able to talk openly. "He should be able to work it out" Indigo stated really believing in him, like she always had. "How long should we give him to figure it out? before we start looking for it ourselves" Silver asked, she looked back at Indigo, "I know you like it here, but we can't stay here forever" she added "As much as I hate to agree with her, she's right, were changing history just being here" Jacob put in his statement of truth. "I know but it's not like we built a time machine for this to happen, so why if we are meant to be part of history and we just don't know it" "It's not impossible" Toby remarked, he had been sitting on his own against a wall with his eyes closed for awhile. obviously all this was taking it's toll on them all at points. "Why are we still waiting here?" Silver asked impatiently "Probably 'cos there is nothing else to do right now" Toby answered, "It's raining, the knights aren't even out today" he added "No one's out" Indigo stated, looking out the library window. "Looks like rain stopped everything back then too, don't it" Jacob pointed out "It's not like they have umbrellas either is it" Indigo said "Why don't they have umbrellas?" Silver asked "I'm gonna pretend you didn't ask that!" Toby laughed, shaking his head. "Clearly she's not our brightest spark" Jacob laughed "She never has been." Toby reminded him "True, very true" Jacob replied "Be nice guys" Indigo told them, "They haven't been invented yet" she told Silver gently "Oh, I forgot that" she answered as she carried on looking at the books on the shelves, "It's amazing how many books they had then though" she said "It is actually" Jacob agreed. The day seemed to go very slowly for them all, by dinner time they felt tired, "Today it has got to be the longest most boring day of all" Toby told them "We hadn't noticed" Indigo teased "If that's what rain does here then I think it should never rain again" Silver said "Then there would be a lack of food" A voice said from behind them, the girls turned to see Merlin standing there, "Sorry about today seems the rain has made more work for me today,so I haven't had chance to do anything else, but as soon as I get it, I will hopefully find some answers for you all" he added as he took a sit beside them for a moment. "I can't stay here for long either, just come to let you all know I haven't forgotten any of you" Indigo had been fascinated by the tales of Merlin for as long as she could remember, knowing he had been born in Cornwall as had Prince Arthur, so she guessed that's where they all were. she knew that he serve King Uther, who was said to have admired the intelligence of Merlin even though neither of them particularly liked each other, there was a healthy respect of one another. At the moment no-one seemed to know of Merlin's magic which was a little disappointing for her, as she longed to see him in action as Merlin the wizard. She had found it amazing when he seemed to see how they had arrived, but she longed to see more, she wanted to see things move because he was doing that with his eyes, it was just something she had always wanted to bear witness too. However so far nothing had, happened in order for Merlin to take the risk of being caught using his abilities to help someone. She found him a lot more reserved than she had imagined him to have been, but she still liked him in person, he hadn't disappointed her in the slightest. She also was well aware that it would be Merlin's guidance that would help make Prince Arthur the King he becomes.
