Moving on

Dante's POV Dante laid in the king-sized bed a bandage wrapped around his neck. He had been out for a week now recovering from Vlad’s attack. Vlad had tried to feed him his blood to help Dante heal but he refused. He didn’t want to risk being turned into a hybrid. There was a time when he would have jumped to be turned, but now after the battle, after Alexander, he no longer craved it. The thought of living forever no longer appealing. “Let me heal you.” Vlad’s rough voice broke through the silence of the room stirring Dante awake. “N…no.” Dante croaked slowly opening his eyes. “I will be fine I just need rest.” “I could heal you in a few seconds verse being stuck in that bed for another week.” “I said no.” Dante’s voice coming out harsher than he had intended. “Fine. Well, if you are going to be okay with your pack here, I will be on my way.” Vlad said turning away from Dante walking toward the door. “Wait!” Dante shouted. Vlad halted his steps turning his head to the side he glanced behind himself toward Dante. “Where are you going? This is your home. Don’t you want to stay? We can find another place to build the pack back up.” “No…No you stay here this is your home now.” Vlad looked around the room. “This isn’t my home anymore. It’s time to move on, start a new chapter.” Vlad looked at Dante with a warm smile before turning on his heels. In a blur Vlad had disappeared leaving only the bedroom door open. Dante looked at the door letting out a sigh. He hadn’t spoken to his sister in months. He had been so busy trying to rebuild the pack he had completely forgotten about her. He was surprised she hadn’t come knocking his door down already. She wasn’t one to be subtle, though since she had mated with Tristan she had calmed down. She was no longer the one to run into a fight, guns blazing, she now moved with caution. They all were different now, after Alexander’s death. It was hard to look at the world the same without his best friend and alpha. What worried him most was Lilith; how would she keep moving forward without her mate. Unlike Dante Lilith was immortal. She would live forever with the pain and loss of Alexander while Dante only had to live years. Werewolves unlike vampire did age, not as fast as humans did, but they still aged and eventually would die. “Susan!” Dante shouted. “Yes alpha.” A slender young dark-haired woman came running into the room. “Please get me my phone I need to make a call.” “Of course, alpha.” Not waiting for his response, she darted back out of the room to find his phone. Mic's POV The castle had been silent since the howling that knocked them to their knees. Mic did as he had promised and stayed by Lilith’s side. The events of that night drained her knocking her out for three days straight. At first Mic was worried, but now he could see that it was what she needed. He could still see the pain in her eyes, but she now had her glow back. She looked less like the walking dead and more like her old self. “You need to feed.” Mic said looking over at Lilith who sat curled up in a plush dark red chair. “No. I’m not hurting another for my need to feed.” Lilith spat defiance in her eyes. “Feed.” Mic said walking toward her. Mic knelt in front of her tilting his head to the side. Looking down at him her eyebrows furrowing in concern. “You won’t hurt me Lil.” Mic moved closer leaning toward her to give her better access to his neck. “Let me help you.” He glanced at Lilith from the corner of his eye a small smile on his face. Lilith's POV Biting her bottom lip her eyes trailed down to his neck. She knew she needed to feed, she could feel the burn in her throat and the ach in her bones. Lilith wanted to refuse, to walk away from him and hide in the shadows of her room away from everyone. Looking at Mic she knew there was no choice she needed to feed and feeding off him right now was probably the safest bet. “Fine.” Lilith huffed slowly moving herself forward. Leaning forward she took a deep inhale of his neck her eyes closing as the scent of Mic consumed her. Licking her lips, she could feel her fangs growing and the hunger in the pit of her stomach rising. Without another word she shot forward her fangs ripping into his neck. A moan involuntarily escaped her mouth. She had forgotten how delicious Mic’s blood was. The more she drank the more she craved. Mic's POV Wrapping his arms around her waist Mic lifted her out of the chair. Turning around he sat down pulling her into his lap. Shifting herself Lilith was now straddling Mic wrapping her arms around his shoulders she continued drinking from his neck. Leaning Mic rested his head back, running his fingers through her hair then down her back. His eyes slowly closing he bit down on his bottom lip fighting the urge to let out a moan, he had forgotten how much he loved when she fed off him. For vampires feeding off one another was a very intimate thing. To feed off another vampire is to trust and give oneself completely to each other. Having Lilith agree and willingly feed off him was a good sign. She was warming back up to him and giving her trust to him again. A small smile curved at the corner of his mouth. She was finally giving him a chance and he wasn’t going to waste it. He would prove to her that she could count on him, and that he would never betray her trust again. Odessa's POV “No Tristan I am going and that is that.” Odessa spat storming from there dresser with a pile of clothes. “I understand, but Dante is probably just busy.” “You don’t get it Trist.” Odessa dumped her clothes into a suitcase. “He’s, my brother. My twin and this is not like him. Something is wrong I can feel it.” Turning to face him her hand firmly at her hips. “You know you look super sexy when you’re mad.” Tristan said with a smirk. Rolling her eyes Odessa watched as Tristan’s smirk spread to a full grin. Slowly he moved from where he stood at the dresser to in front of Odessa. Reaching out he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her to his chest. “Not fair.” Odessa grunted moving her arms around his neck. “Please trust me Trist. I know something is wrong and I have to make sure Dante is okay.” She said looking up at him through her lashes. “Fine. But you will check in with me every day.” Tristan huffed. “I will get you there.” Letting go of her he walked across the room and into their closet. “What are you doing?” Odessa asked walking toward the closet. Stepping back out of the closet Tristan’s hands behind his back and a big grin on his face. “Dess these 6 months have been amazing, and I am sure you are the only one for me.” “Trist?” Odessa tilted her head in confusion. “Dess.” Tristan said stopping in front of her. “I love you.” Odessa stood mouth slightly open, and her eyebrows lifted high a look of shock frozen on her face. Did he just say he loves her? She could feel her heart pounding nervously in her chest. Neither of them had said the L word yet, and she hadn't thought he would be the first one to say it. “Dess?” Tristan watched her looking at him in shock. His nerves rising in him he bit down on his bottom lip. “I…I love you too.” Odessa said a small smile on her face. “You do!” Tristan shouted scooping her up into his arms. Spinning them around he smiled watching Odessa protest then giggle. “Now what’s poking me back?” Odessa said, Tristan slowly coming to a stop. Putting her back on her feet he put his left arm behind his back again. “I got you something.” Tristan moved his arm around revealing a black jewellery box. “Oh man.” Odessa backed up slightly. “I love you Trist, and I know I want to be with you forever, but I’m not ready to tie the kn…” “NO!” Tristan yelled cutting Odessa off. “It’s not that. Just open it up.” Tristan nodded eagerly. Shaking her head Odessa opened the little black box to reveal a beautiful gold moon necklace. On the inside of the moon where beautiful vines of different coloured diamonds. Moving the moon from side to side she watched as all the diamonds shimmer. “It’s so beautiful.” Odessa lightly traced the vines with her finger. “Yes, and it’ll keep you safe.” “What? How?” Odessa asked looking up at Tristan. “It is an enchanted necklace. It will keep you from being harmed. It will also allow you to communicate with me.” Tristan moved closing the small amount of distance between them. “Please don’t ever take it off.” Tristan said picking up the necklace. Walking behind her he unclasped the necklace moving it over and around her neck. Clasping it closed he moved back in front of her. Looking down he adjusted the necklace letting it fall just before her cleavage. “Perfect.” Tristan said looking at Odessa with a smile. “I love it and I love you.” Odessa jumped into his arms planting a passionate kiss onto his lips. After a very heated make out session Odessa had packed up her suitcase and was now standing in the middle of the bedroom. Both hands securely holding her suitcase she took in a deep breath before looking over at Tristan. “Ready?” Tristan asked watching Odessa shift from side to side nervously. “Ready.” Tristan turned forward closing his eyes. Taking in a breath he started moving his hands up. Tristan began chanting moving his arms around little sparks flicking from his fingertips. Several minutes later the mirror began to shift its glass slowly moving like water rippling. Odessa watched in awe as Tristan summoned a portal through their mirror. Running to his side she quickly pecked his cheek. “Remember what I said.” Tristan opened his eyes looking at her. “Be careful and when you’re ready to come home hold the moon pendant and say my name.” Nodding Odessa pecked his cheek again before turning and running through the mirror. Just as Odessa disappeared into the mirror a loud crackle erupted shifting the mirror back to solid. “Good luck my love.” Tristan whispered his eyes watching the mirror like a hawk.
