Lilith's POV
“Introducing Lord Lucien.” Tristan walked into the throne room bowing his head at Lilith.
Lilith watched as a tall man walked into the room. He was built, not like the mountains of a man Alexander was or Mic, but she could see he was muscular as well. It was clear he was in great shape.
“My Queen.” Lucien stopped a few inches from the throne, bowing his head slightly in respect.
Looking at him over she couldn’t deny he was handsome, but as their eyes met, she could see a spark of danger lurking behind them.
His hair was dark as a midnight sky and slicked back out his face. Clean shaven showing off his strong jaw and handsome features. Lilith bet he was a charmer with all the ladies.
Their eyes met once more, and she couldn’t help but study them. One eye was a deep brown and the other a forest green.
“Lord Lucien,” Lilith said, looking away from him and breaking their staring contest.
“I must say the rumours of your beauty do not do you justice, my Queen.”
“Lilith, and I’m not some fan girl to fall at your feet. Your charms won’t work on me Lord.” Lilith scoffed at his weak attempt at flattery.
“Lucien, please. I am not trying to trick you with compliments, I am just being honest. You are a beautiful creature, and from what I have heard, a fierce warrior.” Lucien said, with a seriousness in his eyes.
Eyeing him up, her eyebrows lifted in suspicion. What game is he trying to play?
“Still a player I see.” Mic’s voice cut through the silence, causing Lilith to break her gaze from Lucien, looking over at the door to see Mic walking in.
“Michael,” Lucien turned toward Mic. “I didn’t know you were still alive. I guess I just assumed Leonidas’s dog would go down with him.” Lucien said, shrugging his shoulders, a devilish smirk on his face.
“Funny coming from you. Where is your master these days, lover boy?”
“Enough!” Lilith roared, slamming her fist down on the arm of her throne. Her eyes were now glowing magenta and yellow.
She was not about to sit and watch them bickering like two children fighting over a toy. Lilith didn't have the patience or energy for any of it. All she wanted was to get this meeting done and over with.
“So, it is true.” Lucien looked at Lilith, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise.
“What is it?” Lilith said, confusion written all over her face.
“Your eyes don’t turn like vampires or wolves when angry. Werewolves typically go black when angry, whereas vampires tend to go red, but yours are a beautiful purple with yellow shooting from your pupils.” Lucien looked at her in awe.
“Extraordinary.” He said, a genuine smile slowly appearing on his face.
“Why are you here Lucy?” Mic growled, passing Lucien walking toward Lilith.
Here we go again. Lilith inwardly groaned, rolling her eyes at both of them. What history did these two have that made them act like such children?
“I am sorry, are you the Queen Michael, because I thought it was Lilith?”
“I said ENOUGH!” Lilith shot up from her seat, releasing her aura.
Both Mic and Lucien collapsed to the floor wincing at the power emanating from Lilith. Growling at them, her eyes glowing with warning as she stared at them.
“I will not say it again,” Lilith said, sitting down. “Now Lucien, please tell me why you have come.” Lilith’s aura faded away, both men gasping.
“I have come to speak on behalf of the other royals.”
“And?”
“They…We feel that vampires should remain on top. Humans have ruled this world for far too long. I think it’s time to let us rule.”
“That is what my father thought and look where that got him.” Lilith c****d her eyebrow at him. “The humans were doing fine before my father destroyed their world. I, for one, think the world was better off before he did that.”
“But humans are just our food, nothing more. Why let them go back to being on top?”
“Because this is their world as much as it is ours. We are monsters, and monsters belong in the shadows and the night. Humans are not monsters, they belong in light and day.”
“But.”
“But nothing, I will not change my mind on this.” Lilith stood up, no longer wanting to continue the discussion. “Now you may stay here for a few days before you go back. Enjoy your stay. There are many beautiful areas to visit here.”
Stepping down from her throne, Lilith walked toward Lucien.
“It was nice to meet you, Lord Lucien.”
“You as well, my Queen.” Lucien took her hand, pressing his lips to her knuckles.
A small smile curved at her lips watching him. Lifting his head back up, their eyes met again. Looking at her, he watched as her eyes slowly began to shift back to their normal blue eye and green eye.
“Beautiful. You have two different coloured eyes like me.” Lucien said with a grin.
“Yes, they are, though yours are more striking with one brown eye and one green.”
“Thank you, my Queen.”
“Lilith. Now, please enjoy my home while you are here. Tristan or Mic will help you with anything you may need.”
“And if I would like to spend some more time with my Queen?”
“As I said, Tristan or Mic will help you with anything you need.” Lilith smirked with amusement at him.
Nodding her head, she stepped away from him, sauntering out of the throne room, Tristan following her suit, leaving Lucien and Mic behind.
Lucien's POV
“I see why you have stayed. She is extraordinary.”
“You have no idea.” Mic said, his eyes watching Lilith as she disappeared out of the room. “Too bad you won’t be staying long enough to really get to know her.” Mic clapped his hands loudly.
“I don’t know. Maybe I will stay long enough to get to know my new Queen.”
“Wouldn’t that make your master upset?”
“I don’t have a master. My creator is dead, just like yours.” Lucien scowled.
“And yet you are doing the other royals' bidding,” Mic said' a smirk on his face.
Lucien hissed barring his fangs, his eyes glowing a dark crimson.
“Hit a nerve, I see.” Mic laughed, walking toward him. “Well Lucy, it’s time we exited the throne room. No one stays in here without the Queen.” He said, shoving Lucien forward.
Growling in frustration, Lucien crossed the room to the door and quickly exited, Mic following suit. Mic continued to herd Lucien through the house, taking him through a rushed tour of the kitchen, dining room, living room and then up the stairs to the room he would be staying in.
“This will be your room.” Mic said, swinging the door open to a beautiful one-bedroom suite.
Walking into the room, Lucien couldn’t help but be pleasantly surprised. The first room they walked into was a spacious living space. The walls are light grey, big leather furniture sat in the middle facing a beautiful fireplace with a bookcase on either side filled to the brim with books.
Continuing through the living space, Mic opened a door that led into the bedroom. In the middle of the room there was a big king-sized bed fitted with silk sheets and a big comfy-looking blanket. On the left side of the room was a set of double doors housing a massive walk-in closet and on the right was a door leading into a bathroom.
“ That is beautiful.”
“Wow.” Mic scoffed.
“What?”
“Oh nothing.” Mic snickered. “This is just one of our more basic rooms, but hey to each there own.” Turning on his heels, he exited out of the bedroom, moving quickly to the door leading out of the suit.
“Enjoy your stay, Lucy.” Mic mocked, winking at Lucien before exiting the suit.
“Jerk.” Lucien muttered to himself.
Lucien had known Mic ever since he had been turned. His creator was very close to Leonidas. Mic and Lucien spent many centuries together because of this. Neither of them could stand each other though.
Lucien knew that Mic was just jealous of him. Mic was still holding a grudge because Lucien had won over the heart of Belle. It Is amusing how long an immortal being can hold onto a grudge. Lucien hadn’t meant to hurt Mic, but he had loved Belle as well.
Unfortunately, she had not survived the turn into a vampire, which only made Mic hate him even more. Lucien shook his head from the thoughts of the past, and the pathetic drama between Mic and him.
Heading into the living space, he dropped down on the couch, letting out a sigh. He had figured it wasn’t going to be easy to charm Lilith, she was Leonidas’s daughter after all. What he hadn’t expected was how beautiful she really was.
She was beyond gorgeous, it was almost unbelievable. Her beauty was beyond compare and her fiery personality made her even more enticing. The fact that she so easily dusted his compliments and innocent flirting off made him want to pursue her even more.
He knew he was here to talk her into keeping things the way Leonidas had envisioned, but now he fought the urge to stay, to try to pursue her. To win the heart of the Queen, the powerful hybrid.
Unfortunately, the sun was rising, which meant he was stuck in this beautiful suite. Unlike Lilith, Lucien couldn’t walk in the sun. As a vampire ages, they can somewhat tolerate being out in the sun for short periods at a time. You could also use makeup and lots of sunscreen to shield the sun, but it wasn’t a pretty sight to see in person.
Lucien hadn’t seen a sunrise since he had been turned. When he first heard of Lilith, he had to admit he was jealous of her freedom. She was able to freely walk in the sun with no discomfort or possible death. Now he was more curious than anything. What else was this gorgeous creature able to do?
Does she even know what she’s capable of or what her limits are?
RING…RING…RING
A ringing erupted in his pocket, pulling him from his thoughts. Fishing his phone out, he pressed to accept, putting the phone to his ear.
“Yes,” Lucien answered.
“Have you convinced the hybrid to keep us on top?” the rough voice of a man asked.
“Not yet, but I can get her there. I just need more time.”
“How much more time will you need?”
“I don’t know, but I will keep you updated.”
“Don’t mess this up or maybe I should send Sebastian there. He has always been a gifted negotiator.” The man warned before the line went dead.
Clicking his phone off, he tossed it onto a little wooden coffee table, letting out a frustrated sigh. He never thought after his master was killed that he would end up the royals arrand boy. Yes, he was considered a royal himself, but that was just a title and nothing more.
What he would give is to be more, to wield true power. Lilith was both breathtakingly beautiful and powerful. To have a mate like her on his arm would command the respect and power he so craved.
