chapter7:STAY WITH ME

Alvin began to panic when Pearl passed out. He searched for a pulse and found it. He sighed in relief and quickly carried her in his arms and began to run. Surprisingly,he was able to find his way out of the forest without difficulty. He quickly drove to the nearest hospital.

As he was about to enter the hospital, he remembers that he has to hide his identity, especially for Pearl's sake so she doesn't get her image tainted by gossip column. He quickly wears his shades and adjust his hood so that his silver hair was well hidden.

He rushes into the hospital and saw a nurse nearby chatting with another nurse and approached them.

"Pls she needs to be attended to urgently. She passed out" Alvin said. The nurses nod and quickly got a stretcher and pushed her away. Alvin kept pacing in the reception. After a while,his phone rang in his pocket. He picks it up and saw twenty missed calls from his mom and ten from Damian. He had totally forgotten that he left home without anyone knowing where he went to. His mom must have been worried to death. His phone rang again. It was Damian calling. He answered the call.

"Hello Alvin! Where the hell have you been since? couldn't you at least pick your calls instead of leaving everyone in worry." Damian shouted and Alvin laughed amused that his friend was always behaving like a mother hen.

"Hello Grandpa. I'm ok" Alvin said jokingly trying to lighten up the situation.

"C'mon dude where in the blazes have you been?" Damian shouted apparently angry.

"Oh pls! not you too! I already have my mum worrying over me. I don't need you worrying over me too. I'm not a kid" Alvin said matter-of- factly.

"Haha! Says the one who is behaving like a kid. Didn't you know your mum would be worried? Look at the time dude. Even if you didn't care at least remember that I would be the one receiving countless calls from your mum because she believes I'm always with you" Damian said.

"Anyways why bother arguing over the phone when you can come let me beat your ass up" Alvin said knowing that would rile his friend up.

"Haha! Haha! Very funny. Don't worry I won't beat you up too much so you can still be recognizable afterwards" Damian replied mockingly.

"Ok I'll text you the address grandpa" Alvin said chuckling and ended the call before Damian could reply. He texted the address of the hospital to Damian and kept on pacing.

After a while, he saw one of the nurses walking towards him. Just then Damian walked into the the hospital, he spotted Alvin and was about grab him by the neck and knock some sense into his head when he halted in his steps.

"How is she doing? Hope she's ok?" Alvin asked worried.

"She's ok sir. She just passed out as a result of her body not being able to absorb the level of shock she was in. But she'll be ok sir" The nurse said. Alvin heaved a sigh of relief.

"Please take very good care of her. Anything it takes for her to be well. Pls don't hesitate to do it. I'll pay for your services. Pls just take care of her. I'll pay the bills" Alvin said opening his wallet and brought out his credit card.

The nurse was flustered, she could see that the young man before her was really worried about the young girl he brought and he appeared to be wealthy judging by his clothes and his intimidating aura.

"Don't worry sir, she's in good hands. I'll personally look after her. You can go to the nurse behind the reception to pay the bills" The nurse said and left. As Alvin paid the hospital bills, Damian observed his friend closely.

"So...is she your babe or what?" Damian asked startling Alvin.

"No she's not grandpa" Alvin replied putting his credit card back into his wallet.

"So if she's not your babe, who is she? I'm your friend and I have never seen you show such care and concern for a girl" Damian said puzzled by his friend's strange behavior.

"Arrgh! She's not my babe dude. Besides someone like her deserves someone better than me" Alvin said his voice filled with contempt for himself.

"Hmm! That was deep. If you want to talk about it, I'm here buddy. I've got your back. If you don't want to. It's fine by me" Damian said patting Alvin's back.

Alvin didn't say a word for a long while until he spotted the nurse he spoke to a while ago.

"Excuse me. Can I see her now." Alvin asked the nurse.

"Of course sir. Just fill this form sir. Your girlfriend is in safe hands sir" The nurse said and gave him a form to fill. He thought of signing a false name and remembered she called him an angel, so he signed and wrote Angel instead of his name. The nurse led him to a ward, Damian followed them wondering what was wrong with his friend.

As they entered the room, Alvin sat on a chair close to the bed. He looked at her sleeping face, she looked even more angelic upclose. Her long shiny hair was scattered over the pillow. Her full luscious pink lips were firmly closed making him feel that intense urge to use his tongue and part them open. Her long thick eyelashes covered her beautiful ash-gray eyes. He was already lost looking at her until Damian spoke

"Man! She's a beauty. Jeez why are you always lucky when it comes to meeting beautiful chicks. Damn she's a sight for sore eyes." Damian said chuckling as he sat on the small sofa.

"Yes she is. So better close that God-damned eyes of yours" Alvin growled.

"Woah! Chillax dude. Am not taking her. Am just admiring her beauty. C'mon don't chew my head off. So gist me. How did you both meet?"Damian asked curious.

"Hmmm that's a long story. Ha! Today has been such a crazy day. Dude. Trust me you don't want to know." Alvin said with a sombre voice. Damian was about to retort when Alvin cut him off.

"Besides she needs to rest. Let's get going. I don't want us disturbing her sleep. She's been through a lot already and she needs to rest" Alvin said and was about to stand when Pearl started murmuring. She was sweating profusely. Her lips murmuring words he couldn't understand. He began to panic.

"Pearl! Pearl! It's ok. Nothing is going to happen to you. You'll be ok" Alvin said holding her hand. He locked his fingers with hers. She stopped murmuring but was still sweating and shaking.

Suddenly, Pearl tightened her finger's around Alvin's fingers. She held his hand tightly as if she didn't want him to go. She started murmuring again. Alvin was bewildered at her strange behaviour and bent to listen to her closely, but wasn't prepared for what he heard her say next.

"Stay with me. Don't leave me. Pls don't go"
