Chapter 5: ENTRAPPED

She kept running and running though her legs were starting to weaken, she kept running. Her life was at stake. She heard one of the men shoot a gun in the air. She screamed but still kept running. How did she end up here?

It all started this afternoon when her mum sent her to the next town to deliver some stuff to her customer. After delivering the stuffs, she remembers that her boyfriend, Lorenzo lived nearby. Her parents were not aware she had a boyfriend, she kept it hidden, knowing they won't take it lightly with her if they found out.

Lorenzo was a senior in her school. He was the hottest boy in school, he was also the captain of the school basketball team. To top it, he was also quite a brainac. Though he wasa bit of a playboy, Pearl being naive when it comes to relationship decided to give in to his request. She was so excited to finally have a boyfriend. All her friends had one but she didn't have any and felt like an oddball.

"Hmmm he always claims that I have never visited him, I'll give him a big surprise. He'll surely be happy. At least maybe we'll settle our fight and let bygone be bygone." Pearl thought happily. After asking for directions she found his house. It was a bungalow. The gate was opened. She entered and pressed the doorbell.

" You can come in Stanley" Lorenzo said and Pearl smiles.

"He thinks I'm his little bro I can't wait to see the surprise on his face" Pearl thought happily.

As she opened the door she got the surprise of her life. She saw a brunette sitting on Lorenzo's lap kissing him. She gasps in surprise. She couldn't believe her eyes.

"Oh God! Pls let this be a dream." Pearl thought pinching herself. Lorenzo feeling a strange presence and stopped kissing the girl. He looked up and was shocked to see Pearl standing before him.

"s**t! Pearl what are you doing here?" Lorenzo asked shocked to the bone. He quickly pushed the girl away from him.

"Oh God! What the hell? " Lorenzo thought.

"I wanted to surprise you by visiting you. But.... It seems I was the one who received the surprise instead" Pearl said. Her voice was so low, one would think she was whispering.

"s**t! Claire leave" Lorenzo said to the brunette.

"What the hell? Who is she? That I should go away because she's here?" Claire said stubbornly. She eyed Pearl. Lorenzo grabs her forcefully and threw her outside. He turns to face Pearl. He tries to hug her but she pushes him away.

"Don't bother trying to make any excuses Lorenzo. Am not a dummy." Pearl said harshly. Lorenzo sighed and went to sit on the couch. After what seemed like eternity,he spoke

"But you know it's entirely your fault Pearl." Lorenzo said and Pearl glared at him.

"You're always acting so naive and stupid. You don't let me touch you to my satisfaction, Our kisses are brief. And you won't allow me have s*x with you like C'mon! Boyfriends are allowed to sleep with their girlfriends. it's simple logic "

"Don't you dare blame me? You know what I should have seen this coming? You're such a sly, cunning and selfish human being. Like seriously? I just caught you cheating on me. And yet you still have the guts to blame me and exalt yourself. You're so pathetic" Pearl declared. Her ash-gray eyes burned intensely.

"Oh pls! If you were giving in to my demands. None of these would happen. What kind of girlfriend denies her boyfriend s****l pleasure. You are the cunning one. You don't love me at all. You are just deceiving me. So don't blame me" Lorenzo said heatedly. Pearl couldn't believe her ears. She was so shocked that she started laughing. Her laugh made Lorenzo uneasy. Suddenly she stops and stared at him with her gray-ash eyes. Her eyes looked so intense that Lorenzo felt them look into his soul.

"I shouldn't be surprised by your actions. After all a leopard can never change its spots. You claim I don't love you. What's love Lorenzo? If you love someone you want to see the person happy right? You care for the person, I care for you. I would never like to see you get hurt. I know I'm not a perfect girlfriend, but at least I try to make things work between us. You on the other hand don't care about me. You only lust for my body! You don't love me, Cause if you do, you won't hurt me. Yet you still open that silly mouth of yours to tell me it's my fault. You know what? What's the need of us arguing? After all like you said it's my fault. You deserve more. I'm pretty sure that brunette will give you all you need. So it's over between us. Bye Lorenzo" Pearl said.

She couldn't believe she gave such a lengthy statement, but she needed to get her anger off her chest. Lorenzo could feel her pain and tried to hold her back but she pushed him away.

As she came out, she took a deep breath, she wanted to cool off. Her heart ached and the tears she tried to hold threatened to fall.

"I mustn't cry. He's not worth it. Pearl he's not worth it" Pearl told her self continuously as she walked aimlessly. After walking for a while she saw that she was lost. She didn't know her way around the town. She sighs in frustration. She was in an alley. She took a left turn and saw three hoodlums smoking. She hid herself behind a dustbin.

"Oh God! Please let them not see me. I'll just move stealthily and try to find my way" Pearl thought.

"Hope the operation was successful? " One of the men who had a very long scar across his face said. Pearl stilled.

"Yes we did! we hid the boy perfectly. Haha we're going to collect a huge ransom from his parents. Boss I'm so happy. We're going to be filthy rich" one of the men said grinning.

"You can say that again. Hugo. We're going to become filthy rich!" The third man said. Pearl close her mouth to hold her gasp. She brought her phone and tried to take some pictures of the men. After taking several shots.

"We left Bruno with the kid in the basement. Let's hurry and get going you know Bruno loves to drink. He must have finished all the drinks in the bar. Besides the bar is closed" the one called Hugo said. Pearl started to breath calmly. She turned and saw a rat, she wanted to scream, but clamped her mouth shut with her hands, the rat moved towards her, she shifted and the dustbin fell. She turns to see the men looking at her.

"Oh no! They have seen me" Pearl thought and ran for her life.

"Catch her. She must have heard us." The boss said and they all chased her. Pearl ran aimlessly, she didn't know where to run to. She didn't know her way out of the alley. She saw a forest and ran into it hoping that they would leave her but boy was she wrong,they followed her into the forest. She kept running despite the bushes tearing her dress. A thorn prick her shoe, she screamed but still kept running. Suddenly she stops running, it was a dead end, only a large river and she couldn't swim. She turns to see the men approaching her. Her heart raced in fear.

"Hmmm! boss she seems too good to waste let's have some fun before wasting her." One of the men suggested. The three men leered at her.

"Hmmm not a bad idea. Let's have some fun." The boss said looking at Pearl lewdly. Pearl cried in horror. She didn't expect today to go like this.

"Help! Someone help me! Anybody! Pls help!" Pearl screamed with all her lungs. The men laughed.

"No one comes into this forest sweetie. Don't worry I'll treat your body well." The boss said smiling wickedly as he approached Pearl. Pearl backed away. She turns back to see the river. She couldn't swim. How will she escape? She was entrapped between this hoodlums and the river. What will she do?
