Chapter 10

1062 Words
The war between the Sacred Moon Pack and Sacred Sun Pack was a very fierce one that ended with the loss of so many lives and the captivity of members of both packs. But it was clearly in the favor of the Sacred Moon Pack. Although they were really victorious this time, Alpha Brian didn't want to let the Victory get to his head so he ensured that adequate measures were put in place to enhance a very tight security and avoid any Surprise attacks from the Sacred Sun Pack. One sunny day, Alpha Brian was suddenly made to worry about a retaliation from the Sacred Sun Pack and the fact that his only son who is meant to take over leadership some day has fallen head over heels for a slave who is from the enemy pack, wasn't even helping the situation. So he called for a meeting with other authority Heads in the Sacred Moon Pack. His wife Luna, was a part of this meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to talk about how to avert a possible retaliation by the Sacred Sun pack and how to handle the situation between his son and Sophia, the Slave. Unknown to him, his son Clint was already making plans to free his new found Love from her misery. "Clint, where are you?" Alpha Brian calls out with a firm voice. "I am here, Father," Alpha Clint replied. "Sit down, dear," Alpha Brian says and he pats Clint's back softly. "I want to tell you a story that I feel I should have told you a long time ago," Alpha Brian continued. "For years now we have been fighting against the Sacred Sun pack and this isn't a war that started in my time. Long before I was born, both clans have always had a reason to be a each other's throats and most often the results of these wars are troubling. We encounter experiences that change our lives forever. Memories, both good and bad get cemented into our heads and the 'Spoils', yes the Spoils, were never really in our favor,” Alpha Brian said and looked down. “Well, I think we should thank the Gods the odds were in our favor this time,” Alpha Clint was been sarcastic not really listening to what his father was saying. Alpha Brian noticed his son was not really listening but continued, “But for the first time in a long, long time, we went to battle against this enemy pack of ours and it seemed like our time had finally come. Yes we lost a good number of men but in the end, we sang the Victory Song. Our soldiers fought gallantly and not only did we utterly vanquish our enemies, we registered quite a number of them into s*****y. Now that seems like a battle well won.” “Father,” Alpha Clint tried to cut in, but the look on his father’s eyes were indicating something else. So he kept quiet and continued listening. “She also wasn't lenient towards any of our solders she encountered in battle, so why should we be merciful to her or treat her better? Truth be told son, she deserves all she's getting and even much worse," Alpha Brian spoke with hatred. "But Dad," Alpha Clint tried to cut in again. "Let me finish first son, I don't think you understand what's at stake here," Alpha Brian replied Sternly. "I believe Sophia or whatever her name is, should continue to be treated as what she is. A slave to this pack and nothing else. I can pardon your gestures towards her but what I will not allow is you considering taking her as a wife to rule with you over our people. That's ludicrous! I won't let that happen even in a feeble state,” Alpha Brain spoke with authority. “This is about me father,” Alpha Clint was being selfish in his choice of words. “Well, what do you think the entire Pack would say about you, about me, about your Mother? In our last conversation, you talked about your opinion not being heard and I get that, but have you ever considered what doing such would do to your family?” "I do, and I am sure whatever I am planning will be for the best interest of everyone,” Alpha Clint needed his father’s emotions to tune in to his appeal. "I have no desire whatsoever to see you ruin your life with just one bad decision and I'm not a party to such disparaging opinion of yours concerning that wretched Slave. Do you want our people to reject us? Do you want all I have done for our people to be seen as useless because of one girl whom we know nothing about? No son, give this a rethink and come to your senses as soon as possible,” Alpha Brian said. "Father! I love her and I sure am in my right senses. My connection with her is robust that not even the forces of gravity can pull us apart. I want her as my mate and I'm willing to do all it takes to have her by my side," says Clint. "Please reconsider and help me!” Clint cried out. "You know the whole Clan listens to you. They won't see a problem with it as long as you don't. Please Father, I really do Love her. And you know, she has no family . She lost both parents to the war and is now suffering the effects of s*****y and hard labor. Life hasn't been fair on her and I'd like to change that. I think she needs saving,” Clint continued. "Oh shut up Clint! I think you're the one that needs saving," Alpha Brian said to his Son. "You seem to have completely gone out of your wits as far this matter is concerned. I do not want to hear about this Sophia girl anymore. Do not also trouble Mother about this issue because what you're battling for is a lost cause and the sooner you let it go, the better for you. Our people forbid it. I forbid it!" Alpha Brian said as he stormed out of the room in anger. “We'll see about that Dad,” Clint said, smiling.
