“Please kill me...”
The words of the people in the area kept echoing in Dugo Zugath's ears as his expression turned even graver. His grip on his sword had tightened even more as his other hand was curled into a fist. His thoughts were unknown, his feelings were complicated. Although he had already killed a person before, they were his enemies. And these people before him had nothing to do with him. They didn't do anything bad to him as he had no resentment against them.
And also, it didn't change the fact that he was still a 13 years old kid. Killing them all to cause something like a m******e was really too much for him. If this were the other kids, they might be puking right now. Even worse, they might have turned pale, couldn't even lift a weapon to kill.
“As you all wish,” And since Dugo Zugath was different compared to any other kid, he decided to kill all the people in the area. As helpless as he was, that was the only thing he could do. He had no divine hands that could heal and cure anyone or had some kind of heaven-defying medicine for their treatment.
But even if he really had the ability to heal them, he would still hesitate to do so. After all, they didn't know them all and had nothing to do with him. His will to kill them instead was still dominant.
Thus, with the intent to kill, his eyes turned extremely cold and as sharp as the sword. He took away all his hesitation and pity as he brandished his sword in the midair one time, forming an arc.
After a moment, he shifted his gaze at one of the people who were lying weakly on the ground as he took a step to come closer.
“P...l..ea...se...”
Standing still for a few seconds, Dugo gazed at the person before him. He even heard the other party's plea. As such, he didn't delay any longer as he finally brandished his sword at the other party's neck. Naturally, the other party became headless a moment later.
Upon killing him, Dugo Zugath's face didn't even twitch a little. No emotion was displayed in his hardened expression but coldness. After a moment, he went to the other people lying on the ground as he parted their heads away from their bodies with his sword s***h.
Slash!
The sound of a sword hitting an object sounded repeatedly in the area. And as if the surroundings were complementing the situation and were lamenting the event that was transpiring, it didn't produce any sounds at all. Not even the small rustle of the grasses.
The only thing that could be heard in the area was the sound of the s***h of the sword and the begging voices of the people around that were slowly dying out. As time passed by, those people had even decided to become silent as they instead waited for their turn to rest in peace.
Dugo Zugath didn't care though. What he wanted to finish right now was to end their sufferings as soon as possible. As such, he decided to hasten the phase of him killing them until finally, only one person remained in the area.
One more to go and he would be finished fulfilling their wishes. One more to go and he could finally leave that damned place. He didn't even intend to take their possessions anymore as he wished to just find the Portia instead. After he find that flower, he would leave immediately, never again to return.
“P...l...ea..s...e...”
Dugo Zugath heard the last person to be killed muttering in a low and hoarse voice. Dugo looked at the other party for a short moment, before he finally decided to reply, “I know. I will end your sufferings now.”
When he killed the others, his face didn't even twitch. His expression remained nonchalant. He didn't even let out the slightest voice as he went to kill them in a swoosh.
But since this was the last person, Dugo Zugath finally let out some words. However, his voice might be cold but hidden behind it was a shred of remorse. He couldn't help asking himself inwardly if he really made the right decision on killing them.
What he was thinking was that they would die anyway so why would he bother himself dirtying his hand? But then again, seeing their situation, Dugo Zugath could only agree with them as he resorted to fulfilling their last wishes.
Thus, Dugo Zugath raised his sword as he was now about to carry out the other party's last wish. The rays of the sun reflected on the blade of the sword as his eyes flashed in cold glint.
“P...l...s......D-don't.... k..kil..l...me...”
However, contrary to Dugo Zugath's expectation, the other party made such a plea. Dugo was taken aback when he heard him as his expression suddenly turned grave. The sword on his hand was stocked in the midair, refusing to take the slightest movement.
“I... I... w-want... to... live...”
And when he heard that voice, the sword suddenly became heavy. No, to put it more correctly, the burden was the one that become heavier. Dugo Zugath couldn't carry the weight anymore as he let go of the sword before it fell from his hand. The sword fell as its tip pierced on the ground just beside the head of the person he was about to kill.
Dugo Zugath's emotion was finally stirred. His eyes turned watery, his hands were shaking. Now that he thought about it, these people really didn't want to die. All of them only wished to be killed since they thought that death was much better than living a life like that.
But in reality, they all wanted to live.
Who knew if they had families to return to. That was something Dugo Zugath wanted for himself as well. And seeing many people losing their chance to be with their family again, Dugo Zugath had an even graver expression.
The shred of remorse that he buried at the bottom of his heart suddenly sprouted roots as he didn't know what to do right now. And as if he lost all of his strength, he even fell on his knees before sitting his butt on his feet. He was ultimately regretting what he had just done. He even forgot the fact that he didn't have any other choices other than resorting to such an action.
