Cursed Child

1030 Words
“What have you done...” Suddenly, a voice of a man sounded just behind Samantha. The voice was filled with terror and disbelief as it appeared that he was talking to the young girl. Samantha then turned her head around to see the one who had just come. And there she saw a familiar-looking man in his early thirties. He had a well-built body and short crimson hair. He exuded an extremely strong aura as if this man was standing on top of the world. But it appeared that the man didn't see Samantha as he only looked at the crimson hair little girl who had a bloodied appearance. “Father,” Suddenly, the little girl spoke and called the man who had just arrived. She raised her hand and showed the heart to him as she spoke again with an innocent and wide smile, “Look, I killed mother. I will be stronger than you.” “You...” The man found his entire body shaking. His body felt like it became heavy as he wanted to fall on the ground. But with his strong character, he endured the pain and remained standing. But it appeared as well that he was at loss. He was even blaming himself for arriving late. If he knew that this would happen, he would rather be the one who had guarded their daughter instead of his wife. The man was helpless. He wanted to avenge his wife but since his daughter was the one who killed her, he could only grit his teeth and blame himself for his own incompetence. He treated himself as a failure father and husband. The man then walked forward. He walked through the body of Samantha as if she was a ghost. The man went past the young girl who still had her hand raised forward as he directly went towards the woman who appeared to be his wife. The man stood in front of the corpse of his beloved. After taking a moment to look at her, he crouched down and reached his right hand on her cold face. He could see blood that dripped from her eye sockets as when he noticed that her eyes were missing, his expressions had immediately turned dark and grave. “Are you looking for her eyes?” The little girl asked as she continued with a wide smile, “Don't worry about that. I already took that from her and ate it.” The man on the other hand felt a shiver down his spine when he heard his daughter. Never did he expect that she would go so far as to also do the forbidden. “Cursed child,” As such, the man could only mutter in a low voice. An aura of s*******r exuded out from him. It was evident that he was about to do something against his so-called daughter. However, when he was about to make a move, the body of his wife suddenly shone a little. The man shifted his attention towards her as he found the light becoming a little brighter. A moment later, a transparent figure that looked the same as the woman, came out from her body. But her appearance appeared to be in a good state unlike the real body filled with blood. The transparent woman stared at the man before her as she reached her hands to his face and smiled. “Don't do it to our daughter. She's only a child. Forgive her, for she is still unable to control that ‘thing’.” The transparent woman said with a soft voice. On the other hand, the aura of s*******r coming out from the man had calmed down. But his eyes suddenly went watery as tears fell shortly after. Seeing the illusion cast by his wife before she died, and hearing the last message she left behind, he could only feel powerless. He finally couldn't bear the weight anymore as he kneeled and put his forehead down on the bloody floor. “As you wish.” The man responded shortly after. As unwilling as he was, he could only do what his wife had said. He then raised his head from the floor as he saw his wife smiling at him. A moment later, her figure started to fade. It appeared that the effect of her illusion was slowly taking off. The illusion then finally faded as the last thing that the man had seen was the smile on her lips. “Mother...” Suddenly, when the illusion of the woman finally faded, a voice of a little girl sounded. It carried a hint of fear as she called out her mother. The one who had just spoken was naturally the young girl who was standing next to the man. When she saw the illusion of her mother, she suddenly felt an aching pain in her heart. Only then did she realize what had she done. Suddenly, the vertical line on her pupil disappeared slowly. Her eyes filled with killing intent had been replaced by sadness and fear. She took a step backward as she muttered fearfully in a low voice, “What have I done?” Whoosh! But when the little girl was about to lose herself, the man beside her, the one who appeared to be her father, came to her and hugged her tightly. After which, he spoke with a calm voice, “Don't worry about it. It's not your fault. You've done nothing wrong.” “But... But mother is...” The little girl responded as she finally cried out loud. “She isn't dead. She is still living in our heart.” The man released his daughter from his arms as he held her shoulders and looked at her with a warm smile. He then touched her face lightly as what he felt right now towards her wasn't anger anymore, but pity. If only his daughter wasn't cursed. If only that “thing” was not living in her, then what had happened just now wouldn't have happened. She wouldn't have killed a person at such a young age and suffered great burdens.
