chapter 8

Adrian POV

I was sitting in my office with two of my warriors who had just returned and were giving me an update on the search for Lily and the other girls.

Of course, they had nothing new to add, which was highly frustrating.

I growl loudly and hit my desk so hard that I snap it in half. The warriors look at each other nervously before returning to look at their Alpha.

" Bring me my mate ", I ordered, starting to pace. I knew she was hiding something and wanted to know what it was.

The warriors walked out to get her. Looking around, they didn't see her in the sitting room where they had left her. " Greg," he called over to his brother. I'm going to check the kitchen. You check the washroom."

" Um, Owen, I don't think we need to do that". Eli said. While looking at the door, Greg looked to see what he was looking at and saw the door wide open.

She was gone. Her scent wasn't as strong, so she had left a while ago.

"Great," the one with hair that fell over his shoulders and bright blue-green eyes mumbled.

"Greg", called Owen, holding up her cell phone.

" You tell 'em, Owen," Greg told his brother. Neither was looking forward to telling their Alpha that the girl was gone.

They knocked on the office door, " Um, A..Alpha ", Owen stammered nervously.

I looked up questioningly; I had c**ked a brow." Where is she?" I asked, deadly quiet.

Owen and Greg both looked down at their feet. " She's gone", Owen answered softly.

"WHAT! " I thundered.

Greg nudged Owen, " Her phone ", he whispered.

"I did find her phone, though ", Owen said, handing it to me.

I opened her phone and was surprised that she didn't have it protected by a password or anything. I shook my head as I started going through it; it didn't take me long to find the messages, and I knew where to find her.

Looking up at them, I told them to gather the best warriors. "I know where to find her and, hopefully, lead us to the other girls, but we must hurry. "

**** Lily's POV****

I wake up to find myself in a strange place, and I don't recognize where I am or remember how I got there.

I couldn't look around. Something was covering my eyes, but I could smell it. I knew there were others with me; they smelled like other she-wolves.

I started to hear a groaning coming from my right side

" W...w...where am I?" someone stammered

" Kayla?" I asked, surprised she was the first girl who had gone missing. I wondered if the other was Jenny, the second to go missing.

" Y...Yeah.." she fell silent for a second. " Lily, is that you?

" Yeah," I replied, " where are we?" I asked her

" I don't know," she answered

Just then, we heard a car door slam and a door open. " Quick, pretend you're asleep", Kayla whispered.

"Okay", I whispered back.

I evened out my breathing and pretended like I was still sleeping, and I could hear Kayla and Jenny doing the same, and we heard the footsteps coming closer. They were heavy and getting closer to where we were.

The footsteps stopped, and I could hear a door open. The footsteps then entered the room where we were being kept. I could smell wood and pine, and as they got closer, the scent got stronger; my wolf said excitedly, "MATE," and I groaned inwardly.

" Hmm, sounds like someone is starting to wake up", came a very masculine voice that was deep but smooth. " Well, this should be over soon for you anyway, my little mate."

Wait, did he recognize me as his mate? My heart started hammering in my chest.

He ran his finger over my cheek to my mouth, trailed it over my lips, and lightly kissed my lips.

Then I heard him stand up and walk over to Kayla. "Well, it's time to go," he said, and then I heard him pick her up. Shh, I need to get you out of here before he comes back ."

Then he walked out, and I heard another door open. A few minutes later, he returned, picked me up, and took me outside. I could feel the breeze on my face. I was placed in a car. He went back in one more time, brought out Jenny, and put her in the car.

He closed the car doors, then I could hear him walk around the front of the car, open the door, and slide in.

I started whimpering, unsure what would happen to us now; my wolf said, "He is saving us."

"Are you sure?" I asked my wolf

I got the impression of her nodding.

"Ok," I said to her.

***** Shiann's POV*****

I ran as fast as I could to where the message had said to go. I was worried, though. I knew it was Idiotic of me to have three girls already missing, and here I was, running straight to the person who was likely responsible for taking them.

I was also thinking about my mate's reaction when he found that I was missing, but I really couldn't think about that right now. I had to stay focused on where I was going and how to pull this off without getting taken too!

As I approached where I was to meet whoever sent the message, I started to hear running behind me. I found a bush and hid behind it, looking through the leaves. I could see headlights getting closer and then stopping right where I was hiding. I saw a tall man get out of the car. His build looked familiar, but his face was hidden under a hood, so I couldn't make it out.

As he was getting closer to where I was hiding, whoever was running was getting closer too.

He stopped and looked at the bush—it was almost like he was looking me in the eyes. He turned and looked to where the running sounds were coming from, and turned on his heel. He hesitated to open his door, looking back at the bush. "Soon," was all he said as he got back in his car and sped off.

Just as he peeled out, I saw a vast Black wolf leap out of the woods growling; he was soon joined by two other wolves, a large dark brown wolf but not as large as the black one and a smaller golden-coloured one.

The other two took off in the direction the car had gone. Still, the big black one approached the bush I was hiding behind and stopped. He shifted into my mate, who, although he looked furious with me, looked so handsome still with his tousled jet black hair, and he had muscles upon muscles I couldn't take my eyes off of him. My mouth started to water.

Just then, my wolf decided to speak, " I told you we shouldn't do it", she said.

I rolled my eyes." You said nothing," I informed her.

A pair of strong arms reached in, picked me up quickly, and threw me over his shoulder.

" EEk", I squeaked, looking down at his substantial but lovely ass.
