While Aidrian was out speaking with my aunt and uncle, I decided to take the opportunity to talk with my wolf to see what she thought I should do or if I could trust him with my secrets. God knows I am scared out of my witts, and I still don't know what's going on with Kyra.
" Hey, you there," I called to her.
" Yeah, I'm here," she replied to me.
" What should I do?" I asked her
"You need to tell him everything."
"Can I trust him, though?"
" He is our mate. Of course, we can trust him," she said, sounding far more confident than I felt.
" He would never hurt us," she told me. " He is nothing like Kyle,"
I knew she was right there because even though he had gotten angry with me, he never raised his fists to hit me, and he never threatened me or belittled me in any way. I decided to tell him as much of the truth as I could right now.
A little while later, he walked in looking stressed and angry; I started to doubt that now was the right time to say anything to him. " Remember, you can trust our mate," my wolf chimed in, knowing I was about to chicken out.
He walked over to my bed and took my hand in his, and I looked at our hands intertwined for a few moments before I looked up and looked into his eyes, which softened when he saw me looking at him.
" Hey, how are you feeling?" he asked me softly.
" Better," I admitted
He fell silent again, and I figured he didn't want to push me, but I needed to get this out now, or I never would.
I looked away. " I....I...have.....something I need to tell you," I told him hesitantly.
I looked at him nervously to see what he had to say, I could see his jaw tighten, and his grip on my hand tightened almost painfully."Are you going to try to leave?" he asked as his eyes narrowed to slits as he looked at me.
At first, I was puzzled, trying to figure out what he was talking about, but then I understood he thought I would either leave him or reject him or both." No...no, nothing like that," I told him.
" It's about my past," I told him, feeling more nervous as time went on, but with our hands still connected, at least I was starting to calm down.
He waited for me to continue, taking a deep breath. I told him about my parents and about Kyle and everything that had happened and how I was afraid that he was behind the disappearances to try and get me back.
Tears were streaming down my face, and I was shaking when I finished. I was too afraid to look at him. I didn't want to see disgust or pity.
He gently cupped my cheek and turned my face to him. " Look at me, please, beautiful," he said gently.
Taking a deep breath, I slowly raised my eyes to his, and my breath caught in my throat at what I saw in his eyes. There was anger, but there was also love.
" A ..are you mad at me?" I asked in a near whisper; I could feel the burn behind my eyes.
"No, baby," he said, rubbing his thumb gently over my cheek.
" No one will ever hurt you again," he told me patiently, keeping his voice very soft." Thank you for telling me, "
As I stared into my Mayes eyes, I could feel my own getting heavier and heavier. Eventually, I gave up and just let them fall.
I could still feel him holding my hand and rubbing my cheek as the darkness overtook me, and I fell asleep again.

Aidrian's POV
I was furious after Shiann told me about her past; no wonder she ran from the pack house to help Lilly. She thought it was her ex-boyfriend, also knowing that it was putting herself in danger.
" Jacob," I called to my Beta through the pack link,
" Aidrian, everything OK ? " he asked me, sounding very worried.
" Can you stay with my mate?" I asked him, knowing he would probably be there before answering me.
I growled through the link to let him know I was getting impatient waiting for him to answer me.
" I'm almost there, Aidrian. Keep your shirt on," he said.
A couple of minutes later, he came bursting through the door. I let out a soft growl while looking down at my beautiful mate, who seemed so peaceful and calm right now; it pulled at my heartstrings.
" Um, are you sure you're alright? " he asked worriedly.
" Yeah," I told him, walking past him; not looking at him, I added, " I'll be back soon." With that, I was out the door and rushing to the nearest outside exit. I could feel my wolf clawing, trying to get out.
"Kill them that hurt, mate." My wolf was yelling at me, starting to give me a migraine. I knew I could find out where he was, but as long as he didn't come into my territory, I would still do everything I could to keep her safe. And I still needed to figure out why my brother was there.
I also needed to determine if he had anything to do with the missing girls. Yes, I know he found them, but I have to find out if that is part of his game, whatever it is. And who is behind the kidnappings? It's going on in all the neighbouring packs as well.
As soon as I hit the tree line, I stripped down and shifted into my large black wolf and started running hard and fast. Leaping over fallen trees and sprayed dirt behind me as I ran. Eventually, I came to a clearing where I could lay down for a few minutes, then head back to my mate now that I was feeling much calmer.
