Violet looks up from the book as I come in.
“Hi, Mom, “ she says, closing the book, sitting up in her chair.
“How are you, sweetheart? “ I went to her and sat next to her behind the desk.
“I was doing my studies, the mentor said I need to be done by tomorrow. “
Violet began studying shortly after we arrived- it was her request. Violet has always been very diligent. This hasn't changed in any way since we came here.
“Do you… Do you want to tell me how you really are after what happened last night?” I ask carefully, and she shakes her head.
“Nothing happened, it was a nightmare, just as Alex said. “
“Alright, "I say. “You know I am here if you need to speak to me. “
