“Ice,” said Jason, his voice low and angry. “You do that, Baby. I’ll call you every thirty minutes or so, okay?” She took a shower, desperately trying to scrub away the memory as well. She put on a two-piece pajama set and went downstairs. Too anxious to sleep or focus on a book, Lori decided to distract herself by watching television. Taking two ice packs out of the freezer, she curled up on the small couch and scanned the channels with the remote.
