"Hey, looks Headmaster is crying”.
"No, I am not! Dust just entered my eyes."
"Looks like Chris is pretty close to his students" Aaron asked.
"Indeed" Sora and Draxx nod
It was morning and I am finally back to my regular old self. I went out to get some fresh air.
"Good morning Chris" Aaron waved
"Good morning" I replied.
I was surprised that Aaron did not left. I walked towards him and asked why.
"Aaron why didn't you return to Citadel?"
"The city is under construction so might as well stay here until all of us fine back there."
"Don't worry Chris I am glad to help out" he said as he pats my shoulder.
"Fine by me"
"By the way what are you going to teach the students?"
"Teach? No no"
"I will help at the cafeteria."
"You see I am a great cook."
I gave a long sigh.
"I thought he could help our Elemental user to practice magic" I said to myself.
Come to think of it, he might be really a great instructor for our mages. The only thing is we do not have any mages.
"Hey Chris, can I ask a favor?" Aaron asked.
"I won't mind."
"What is it you want?"
"You see we have this class and I hoped that we can continue it here until our city is completely fixed."
"Class? What class?"
"Well, we are training sorcerers to battle against the demons, but they aren't for war yet”.
"Our area is completely destroyed and there is no place in the city for training."
"Okay send them right over"
Looks like God answered my prayer. We finally have mages sweet.
The classes started and all the students are busy practicing for my event. Different groups showcased their skills. The group of elites are very overwhelming, it seems the other groups are already intimidated.
The rest of the students that are not chosen to compete used their time enhancing their skills.
I gathered all the students that has Elemental Fragments.
"Okay are you going to use your powers during the event?" I asked.
"Even if I don't use my power, I am certain that no one can beat our team" Max being cocky.
"You're just saying that because you can't use your powers at all."
"What happened in your event is due to your emotion?"
"Nothing seems special about it" Samantha said.
"Well, I am only using my powers as a last resort Headmaster”.
"If my friend lives are on the line, I will surely use it" Sarah said.
"And as for me I will give it my all."
"Who cares if I use my powers at the beginning of the fight. Better be safe than sorry" Samantha said.
"But kindly limit down the use of your powers"
"They are like a double-edged sword" I warned them.
"What are the chances that those powers may backfire at you?"
"So please be careful when using it okay."
"Okay Headmaster" they said.
They all went back to their groups. I observed all the participating teams and look for potential winners. So far, the group of the elite seems unbeatable. Then there's Tyrone's group and Samantha's
It was lunch and Aaron hurried to the cafeteria to find me.
"Chris they've just arrived" Aaron seems excited.
I quickly stood up and check those students. The others then followed me.
"May I present to you Citadel's sorcerers?"
"As you can see, they all have different colored uniforms. By this way we can easily distinguished what elements are they using"
"Can they do something?" I asked.
"Well let's all see."
"Commander kindly do the honors."
The Commander ordered his students to showcase their skills.
"Tell me Aaron how did they survived the onslaught?"
"Well, they hid underground of course"
"And because of their special accessories the demons didn't sense their precious stones"
"Ahh that's why we didn't find anyone" everything seems clear to me.
"That's right Chris."
We are all amazed on how the sorcerers used their magic. Then someone tried getting my attention. I turned to have a look and it was my elite strategist.
"Headmaster can we recruit on of them for the upcoming event" he asked.
"That depends on them."
"Wait I'll ask"
I walked towards the Commander.
"Good day Sir I would like to ask if your students are fit to battle for our upcoming event”.
"We are having this make up war between the students. They are task to recruit one in each class."
"I was hoping that your sorcerers will join that said event" I asked.
"Well, I ... ..."
Then Aaron gave a nod as a sign it is alright
"Well, I accept" the Commander said.
"Okay class you can now pick your teammate now."
"Chris when is this event happening?" Aaron asked.
"In three days"
"Isn't that too short for them to practice?"
"You see the first thing I taught the students is keeping everything at their own pace."
"Time management is the key."
"Hey Chris, what do you think about the addition of the sorcerers?" Sora asked.
"I think every group has an Elemental user now."
"Let's just wait for the event and see what happens”.
"But Chris that means more destructive power" Draxx said.
"Don't worry about our sorcerers”.
"They are practically in good shape."
"I raised they well enough to control their powers" the Commander seems complacent.
"Here that Draxx?"
"We have nothing to worry about" I said.
"Headmaster you are forgetting something" a medic said.
"And what is that?" I asked.
"The battlefield"
"Don't tell us you are letting them battle at this open field?"
"Ohh yeah"
The gathered the instructors for a meeting. We all head to my office
"I called this meeting for the layout of the battlefield."
"I need suggestions on how the battlefield will look like."
"I have an idea."
"How about an open field at the center and some different leveled pillars" I medic suggested.
"But it is still open."
"How about reshaping the landscape"
"Try adding numerous rock formation for cover" Draxx suggested.
"You see the sorcerers need an opening to use their powers."
"If it hits a terrain surely it will be destroyed" Commander said.
I tried making a small-scale battlefield using the Earth Fragment to easily distinguish what we need and do not need.
