Chapter 53

2264 Words
The Queen started to wash away all the water from her skin, drying up her hair with a blow dryer. How ever, her hands were still hurting a bit, slight muscle pain that she had and it was a side effect she was going through after the powers that she had exposed herself to. Everything came with a bit of a risk or something like that, she was understanding all this and it was some thing she had read as well. At least there was some thing that she still knew were available for her, but at this moment Evi was frustrated. Letting out a large huff she threw the dryer down on the sink, standing there staring at herself in the mirror. Completely miss guided she felt now and had no idea about her past, no idea what just happened and her future was a mess in her head. But he had some sort of comfort and that was her family. She knew that everything was going to be okay, because she had people that she could trust or she had a learned to trust and yet, that was also terrifying. Now that the rumor spread that she was the most powerful being in this world, it was putting her in a strange place. This might sound very beautiful to hear, but she also knows that power can be very dangerous, if not used correctly and if not learnt about it and that in fact scared Evi. Secretly from herself as well. And now feeling the stress getting to her, because it was not her imagination or over thinking this time, this was reality at its best. She huffed yet again, looking away from the mirror. And now that she was dressed in shorts and t-shirt, Evi walked out while her hair was still wet but she did not care. Evi was making her way into the bedroom, only to see that Barka was picking up all of hear books. "Cleaning everything as always. Every thing should always be in its place, or the world might burn." She said to herself, but the king of course heard loud and clear. Smirking now. "You do realise we have extremely clear hearing." He said as she smiled. "I am well aware of that, and you could also see that I was very vocal about that. I could have thought it all in my mind." She said, and he liked to see her back this way. "Seems like you have got a lot of energy after eating all that." He said placing the books on the table inside of the room. Eci though, she softly sat on her bed looking at him going about his peaceful work. How ever, the moment he turned around, he noticed her wet hair. "That's might not be the best thing to do Evelet." He let out walking towards a closet and pulling out a towel. Giving it to her, he made sure to watch her right, he knew something was wrong. Evi slowly took it from him, but did nothing with it.. "Thank you," She said, pushing her shoulders back and her chest forward. Something seemed very troubling to her and he understood that well. "What is wrong?" He asked her, standing there why she looked up at him. Evi opened her mouth to say something but seemed like she was having trouble here. "Go ahead." He said, encouraging her to continue but she looked at the towel on her hand and then back at him. Giving him her big eyes. He stares at her confused. "Can you please wipe my hair... my shoulders hurt." She said surprising him. As he looked at her neck and shoulders. "What do you mean ?" your shoulders hurt what happened ?" He asked her, taking the towel from her never the less. But he was more over concerned about her. "I don't know, it's not really painful but the pain keeps coming and going. I think what ever happened yesterday was a lot for me." She said, sitting there and looking down at her hands, while he quickly look a small portion of her hair, wiping it dry as water was still leaking down. He did not mind that, her hair smelt amazing to him and touching her hair made him feel calm, peaceful. A feeling he had never in his life felt before. And so did. Evi sat there, pleased and her eyes shut almost immediately feeling relaxed at the way his hands felt on her, as he was touching her scalp. The massage it made her feel like he was in heaven. "Have you ever done this before?" She asked. "I don't think it is in the kings resume or neither did I ever have time." He confessed. "So this is your first time whipping someone's hair?" She commented, smiling softly but Barka, he did not reply back. Slowly she open her eyes waiting for something from him, at least an answer. "Did I say something wrong?" She asked. "No." He said, slowly moving her hair away from her neck and behind her shoulder. But that touch of skin to skin made her heart skip a beat. Immediately she shut her eyes, adan her stomach going in, and everything was strange now. It was the very same to him as well. "My mother. She used to ask me or my father to do this for her." He said, making her smile. "So you have done this before?" She asked, sitting up straight and she was trying to gather her senses back. "Don't move," He said, scaring her. "You do realize that we don't get safe right?" She asked. "But you are going to get the pillow wet, I am sure it won't be comfortable for you to sleep either." He explained, giving her some facts that shut her up. Never the less, making her smile and now even brighter than before. "Barka, you know what I have learnt about you." She let out, enjoying this. "Please, go ahead." he said, waiting for this. "I learnt that you are very soft," She said, making her look away from her hair and up. "Soft.? .. no one has ever mentioned me like that before." He said, stunned as she nodded her head. "Yes, you are this hard shell on the outside and even on the inside. I can't really tell or call you a coconut. Sometimes you are a coconut and most of the time you are just...... just a large rock." She let out, as the man smirked hard, wanting her to continue. "But there are also times where you care so much that you do all this for me. You confuse me." She said, As he nodded his head "Is that so." He asked. "Hmmm.........." "Don't do that Evelet, we are very different from original mate.." He said clarifying, which made her laugh because it was the truth. "Yep, that one.." She muttered, and knew her hair was dry now, but he wasn't letting her go, neither did she want to either. Slow then he bent down, almost reaching to her face. Both of them now looking into each others eyes. It was suddenly striking to her but she did not back away from him, she did not feel intimidated by him either. "What do you want to say? What do you think about me?" He asked, very much curious about the words she might used to describe him. Bad or good Barka was ready to take it. "I think you are in amazing king, one of the best I have seen." She said, not even blinking, she simply told him the truth. "I think you are a great grandson, a true friend." She said speaking in the most gracious way possible and she was also speaking the truth as well. But more over, he did not expect her to say any of that either. Needless to say he was shocked by her words. Blinking his eyes a few times. "You have saved my life more time that I can count and you don't put me through hell as I would have expected. But yes, there was this one time you did and you wanted to kick her out.." She said smirking, she offended. As he immediately looked away from her. The king was ashamed of his behaviour and slowly stood up, still listening to her looking down at the towel. She too slowly glanced up at him, smiling atthe man who said nothing. "You are something that is of value to me Barka, you are important.......... to me." She said, speaking from her heart and nothing about her words was a lie, not even once statement. And for once, as the man always thought to himself to never have a heart but here he was, feeling as if his heart was alive. He was actually feeling and that was new in many ways. "That is what you think about me?. I am important?" He asked, his rough voice make it difficult for her to speak, but she tried. "Is that difficult for you to understand ?" She asked and this time Evi was the one being curious. Especially from his reaction. The King, on the other hand, look at her yet again, not understanding how to say this. "When you are a person of authority, people see you as authority forever. There is no coming out of the title and that is what you are forever that. But I can understand this must be very difficult for you to talk about, about me." He said, and she shook her head. "Not at all." She said, smirking at him and he took that compliment. Never the less, slowly pushing her hair away from her eyes and find her ear, something that he loved doing and it was coming naturally now. Although, Evi did not mind that, or did not stop. All because she liked it, his touch. She was blushing now and was trying to cover it away. It wasn't working out but she was still trying her best here. How ever, Barka slowly pulled his hand away from him, realising what he was doing. Both of them stood there pretty awkward. "They are dry now. You won't have a problem with them anymore." He said and she, on the other hand, was moving back and forth, scratching her nose and nodding her head, while biting her lips "It took them 2 3 seconds and quickly there both parted away from each other. She immediately jumped on the bed, crawling towards her side and he quickly rushed towards the washroom, throwing the towel away. A lot went on at this very second, but it has been going on since morning for them. Both of them were on edge. How ever, she quickly laid on her bed, pulling the covers over her chest and staring at the ceiling above her. that was all she could do now. But eventually Barka made his way towards her as well. Getting into the bed as well. Normally he never covered himself, he always slept like that she always got the covers to herself, all of it and she loved it. Never questioning him. Evvi then closed her eyes, letting sleep come over her but it did not seem very difficult. Her exhaustion from all the reading was already taking over and she was drifting away, leaving everything behind. Her eyes closed and she was gone with in a few seconds. Her breath getting normal and in sync. How ever, the king on the other hand, she look at her direction. He very quickly understood his mate was calm at the moment. Really under standing the whole day she was stressed andhe could only feel her anxiety all day. How ever, there was nothing he could do. He couldn't blame her for that either. The life that she was living right now was harsh on her and the fact that she did not run away was what surprised him. She was stronger than he would have ever imagined. Stronger than anyone he had met, and even stronger than himself. How ever, at that moment, none of that really matter, except for what mattered now. He for the very first time in his existence felt this sort of peace in his life. He had now idea what this was, but he was happy and he could say that to himself, loud and clear and even proudly. She brought it to him, Evi, the girls sleeping right in front of him brought peace into his life and he was going to push it away from him. And yet she fought back for it as well. Never giving up. That was what was magical about her, not her powers. But now watching her face, he relaxed. The innocence she had in her consumed him, the sacrifice she provided and all that, he was grateful to have her in his life. He was thankful for the moon goddess for what he had. Slowly the king shut his eyes, letting sleep come over him as well. He was quickly disappearing from all the power and responsibility that came from being a king. And at this moment, he was a sleeping, resting. Even this was new to him, but he was adapting every thing with her. And with her right next time, he finally understood the reality of his life. He had every thing he could have ever wanted. He had her.
