Chapter 39

The clicking of the large clock outside of the bedroom was quite annoying to Evi. The queen, on the other hand, could not even fall asleep even if she wanted to. She was coming in and out of her sleep. This time it was not at all because she had a bad dream, and she was thankful for that. It was just that Evi just could not fall asleep and there was nothing in particular that was putting her through this suffocation. Evi was staring up at the dark ceiling as she lay there. Right then she placed her hands on her chest, hearing the tik and the tok of the clock that was going on and on. It was painful, biting through her ears and stabbing on her mind and she slowly turned to her left to see her mate, Barka who had fallen a sleep right close to her. He looked so relax to Evi, it was actually strange to see Barka that way and her at the way that she was. It was normally the opposite thing with them, and this was messing her up. "I cannot believe he is a sleep, while I am awake. What kind of a mate does that ?" Evi muttered to herself, and actually very much, very much jealous as to how he was so in control and she was the one just all over the place this time. Not at all her life. She immediately started to shake her head, slowly pushing herself up trying on her bed and getting comfortable. She was trying not to move all that much, trying not to wake Barka up. Not in the mood to listen to his sarcastic conversations, which most of the time were extremely on point. What actually made Evi even more so angry at a time like this. Letting out a large huff, she sat on her bed, Indian style and biting the inside of her cheek. She was thinking as to what it was that she could go there. How ever, Evi stared out at the balcony, seeing how the curtains of her room were flying all over the place. It was too cold to go out and she realized that. And then she glanced down at her books that were laid out. Evi had been reading for sometime before she fell asleep, or before the king yelled at her to go to sleep. She rolled her eyes, not entirely wanting to do that either. "Maybe I should go eat something." She thought to herself, thinking over it for a few seconds because that seemed like a great idea to her as of now. And that is exactly what Evi did. Very slowly she got out of the bed, pushing the covers off of her body and climbing down. She was bare foot, walking on the marble floors and making her way out the door. Slowly, the Queen closed the door behind her, making sure that the king did not wake up. For the first time ever, the man seemed to be having a very deep sleep, which was a good thing. Out of all that is happening in his life and what she puts him through. Evi also wanted him to fall asleep and relax for some time. How ever, quickly she walked down the stairs. Down the stairs yet again. It was not as dark as before, but because of the cold weather outside, every thing just looked very gray to her. How ever, right there and then the chilly atmosphere was turning a little bit warm and this sudden change surprised her. "What the.........." She let out, stunned. She squinted her eyes taken a back by the sudden change, thinking how the heat around her was getting into this position. The wind was very cold, everything was a little cold and that question that was all that seemed to be on her mind. But immediately it was answered when she heard a small murmuring sound coming from some where in particular, she did not know where. Evi moved a little forward only to see that the small hospital wing had something to do with it. Slowly, she made a U turn, her eyes never leaving the door, as she was making her way towards the large and long hallway that lead towards the particular room that she had been to before as well. The lights were off, but there was a glow that was coming from her room and in particular there was a very heavy smoke and the light running out from under the door to outside. It looked genuinely very disturbing, very haunting too. But nothing was telling her wolf to be afraid, making it easier for her to continue to walk into the warm embraceful mist that was coming from the closed door. Once she reached the room, Evi started to hear chanting coming from inside. They were words that she did not understand. There were more people in the room. But she could definitely hear Misi's voice from in there as well. She wanted to knock on the door, but seemed as if it was slightly open. And even though she knew it was not the right thing to do, she used her Queen privilege and placed her hand on the burning heated door. "Ahh..... oh my .." She whispered softly, and suddenly pulling away, hurt now. "What the hell was that?" She muttered, not prepared for it at all. But slowly she pushed the door open only to see something she wasn't expecting at all. She was not expecting anything in particular, but this was quite shocking. Evi's eyes went wide open as she noticed several witches that were circling around the poor princess. And the mist, which was a thick green glow was surrounding her, slowly getting into her mouth, her eyes, her skin and even her hair too. Looked very painless to her. She was no longer black in colour or grey. But slowly she was turning brown. It was quite shocking what Evi was seeing, understanding that she should not be here. But none of them paid attention to the Queen. It was something that was pulling her closer. And she would not hold back. "I am still here.........." A voice came, similar one that she had heard before. She gasped but listened carefully. "Please, tell me out. I am still................" "What are you doing here, My Queen.." Misi asked, as the voice inside of her head suddenly stopped and was replaced with Misi there. Evi had actually reached the bed of the vampire princess and she did not even know that. And was not sure as to how that happened. Evi doesn't even remember walking at all. And all she remembers was a sweet, and a small painful voice. Evi blinked her eyes, stunned now. She looked away from the vampire Princess and at Misi. She did not look upset or mad at Evi, just asked a question for an answer. How ever, the witches around her stopped when they saw her, staring at the queen respectfully as they all bowed their heads down to her. "Go out and wait for sometime girls. We will continue this again." Misi said, and without any hesitation, or so, everyone got up from their seat. And the Queen, on the other hand, was a little taken a back. placing her hand on her stomach, she was try to breathe. "I am so sorry, Misi. I think.... I.... I should go. I did not mean to interrupt you." She said, sad as to what she did. "You did not, My Queen....." She said, whispering softly and smiling at the queen. "Everything has a reason, you coming here has a reason too.." She said calmly. "No.... nothing.." Evi said, her eyes open and wide. "I just......" She said, turning around and pointing at the door. "I heard something... I.... I just wanted to know what is going on. And my intention was not to interrupt her recovery." Evi said, honestly meaning it. "You did not interact anything my Queen. I can assure you that and as I said, everything has a reason." May be you came here to see her." Misi said, and she nodded her head. "Yeah, man be... " Evi said, looking at the princess. "She is doing much better, so is she going to live through this?" Evi asked, hoping she would. "Only time will tell, I can only do this much but........." Misi let out, softly pausing and looking at the queen. "But if there was only a massive power source, it could make this easier for us to pull her out of there right now." Misi explained. And this confused Evi. "What do you mean pull her out? is she trapped in the?" She asked, clearly remembering what the voice had told her. Misi nodded head. "The spell that was cast on her, with the poison given trapped her inside of her body. She doesn't have a soul left but the existence is wearing away." Misi let out. "I have never heard of something like this." Evi whispered, confused. "Yes, who ever put this on her, the witch was stronger and she died." She said, and that information scared the Queen. "What do you mean died? How do you know that?" Evi asked. "This is a soul give and a soul take spell. For someone to cast a spell like this, they have to give something away, something that belongs to them. The witch gave her life to take a life, that is why this is so strong of a spell." Misi explained, and Evi had no idea people went that far for revenge, power and pain. Evi felt horrible for Anya. "And because the sacrifice was so great, it is why this is taking us sometime to pull her out. We will do it, but it will be painful. How ever, a powerful resource is what we need." She said and the Queen, on the other hand, did not understand what could be so powerful. But Misi, she looked behind her to see a full moon that was already here. and by tomorrow it will be there. Evi too glanced out the window, staring at the moon out the window. She could not help but feel very heavy sensation in her hand and her chest, strange it was. But not painful anyway. Evi, immediately rubbed her hand on her shorts. She did not understand this any more, but Misi looked at her, and there was a smile growing on her face, smiling to herself. "I will be right back.." Misi said to her, moving away from there and leaving the room while the queen stood in her place, watching her every move. Evi was now all alone with the princess. She turned to her guest, and saw how she was a little different. Evi was surprised to see Anya this way. She looked much more healthy. A bit tired now, she slowly sat down right next to her. And now Evi saw how she stayed there without any movement. But the last time she was there, her eye balls were starting to move. "I hope you are not in pain." Evi said and for the first time she was talking to the princess. Even though she might not want to say it out loud, but Evi was jealous when she came to her. And when Barka was so concerned about her well being. But she would never confess this to herself either. Evi just saw the girl who did not need this kind of suffering. "Misi will help you. She is very strong.." Evi said, actually feeling the comfort of talking to her. Evi knew she needed some one who can speak, and not just chant in her years for hours. Suddenly she was smiling to herself, seeing how there were sages and candles and a lot of drawings done everywhere on every corner of floor and wall. "I can understand you must be very tired listening to all of them chanting.." The queen let out, placing her hand on the bed and unconsciously done. "And yes, have a right........." Evi was going on and one when right there and then, there was a movement on her eyes balls, something the queen did not notice while she was talking and staring out at the full moon. Feeling the most relaxed. Something she had never felt for a long, long time and for years even. But Anya, she felt as if she was being pulled out her skin as her body was getting warmer. And mostly the mist was speeding up its process and getting into her skin, going into her body. Some thing that Evi did not, at all notice but right then the queen felt something by her hand. It was soft but cold. Immediately she was alerted. "Huuuhhhhhh....." She let out, looking down to the bed, only to see that the princess's hand had moved a little forwards from where it was before, and now landing closer to her. Not moving anymore, but it did. She was so surprised that Evi had to shut herself up. She was so take a back and so struck as well. "What the hell........" She said to herself, standing up.. "What are you doing out here in this room ?" A voice came from behind her and it was her mate yet again. "Shit....." She let out, so scared and faced out that she did not even sense him getting in to the room. "You have got to stop doing that Barka." She said, turning to him and silently yelling. He scared the living s**t out of her. "Don't you ever feel tired, sleeping?. Is there some thing wrong with you?" Evi asked, while he only stared at her. "I can ask you the same thing." He muttered, in his rough voice. Walking into the room to see Anya was doing much better. How ever he looked away from the Princess and back at his Queen. Confused a little and done with her at the moment. "I can understand you don't like listening to me Evelet. But you shouldn't have come into this room.." He said, knowing it was not right. "I...... I was just a little curious and I just wanted to see if she was just okay." Evi let out, honestly speaking. "And what do you think?" He asked, now he was curious too. "Much better. Misi told me to stay here with her for sometime. She looks...... nice now." Evi said, not even lying to him and the King very well knew that as well. "You need to rest Evelet, not roam around the castle." He said wanting his queen to rest and most of all after the day she had. How ever, right then she heard a long whimpering sound. "No....... please......." A voice came and quickly Evi was alert, and alarmed. She swiftly turned to look at the princess, confused as lines were forming on her forehead. She opened her mouth to say something but suddenly there was a loud growl in her stomach that interrupted them both. Barka looked done a little, and the queen looked down at her stomach, which continued louder than ever. The king, on the other hand, he shut his eyes tight. He was pissed off with this, because he knew she hadn't eating anything. And of course she forgot. Although, Evi, immediately knew that this was something that was going to affect her. Evi had learnt this about Barka. He only accepted discipline, especially eating on time was one of the things he was very keen about. And she knew he was angry with her. "Come with me." He said and in his rough tone, not even nice about it. And immediately turning around, the man walking away. Stumping his way out of their like a big child. "Oh come on..." She let out a small huff. Knowing what she had done and the consequence of it as well. "Why does he always get angry....... and with me. Only me." She said, getting up and she too turning around and making her way to the doors. Although, right then a small cry was coming from some where around. And this made the queen stop on her track and turn around. She wasn't sure what she was hearing anymore, but leaving the Princess there all alone was some thing she did not want to do at all. Not easy for her as well. How ever, she couldn't say "no" to the king. He was the king after all. And his angry was always all over the place. Barka just needed a reason to be pissed off at her, that is what she thought it was. And so, she walked out of there, ready to see what more he was going to lecture her about. And closed the doors behind her as the princess stayed on her bed, and unmoving or just not being able to unfortunately. But right then there was a small tear the slowly started to fall down her cheeks. Painful as it was, she was once again lonely in there, The only comfort that Anya had was the Queen, and now she was gone for good,, for a long time. Anya wanted her back with her. But right then Misi came into the room yet again. Feeling the warmth of the queen that was very soon fading away from there. But Misi immediately noticed what Anya was going through. She could read through that poor child's mind and was now walking up to her bed. The witch then slowly sat down right next to her as well, on her bed and now taking one of her hands. "You are almost there my love. You will be here in no time. So just hold on still. You will be the key for Evelet's strength to pour out. For her to understand her truth and of her destiny. But for that you have to suffer a little longer." Misi said, frowning at her, because having to see all this, it was very hard for him to speak this way. And to a girl who was already suffering and dying. "It was how the moon goddess wanted it, my love. I know it is painful as of now....." She said, watching how Anya was tearing up yet again, and Misi could not see her this way. She wiped her tears away. "But everything has a reason, Anya. For this day to happen, your suffering is important. The greatest power to exist, you have to be here. And I will be here for you as well my love." She spoke to the girl, who was no longer dying but it felt as if she was. But it seemed to Misi that Anya was listening, because she was not crying anymore, but trying the listening. Right then the doors closed as all the witches had come back once again all of them making a circle around her taking that position as the method of her recovery would start at again not as pleasant as it would look but any help would be help and she was thankful.
