Chapter 9

2510 Words
People in her pack were very worried about Evi, but all more than happy to know that Evi had woken up from her deep sleep. Some of them had come and gone by, even her father and the queen mother herself too. But it was only her mother who wasn't here with her, and Evi wanted to see her, talk to her, but she thought that maybe there was a lot going on outside and the Luna was busy. Evi did not want to force anyone to bring her mother to her. However, it was a very difficult night for Evi . Mostly because she had to make a decision tonight. It looks very simple to everyone but to her it was a lot to take in, and the fact that The King said all those words to her and left her there, only made things even more difficult for her. However, her wolf, on the other hand, she was going crazy now and Flower knew there was no other choice. "You cannot leave him, we are not rejecting him." Flower said, she speaking up even though she was a little tired. Evi , on the other hand, she said nothing but just sat on the bed, looking down at her hands. Evi was not responding to Flower. "I am not going to let you reject Barka. We are leaving..." "JUST STOP TALKING FOR ONE SECOND." Evi screamed at her wolf, frustrated, tired, irritated and done now. Flower wasn't scared or even upset with this, but rather she was understanding her distress. Without saying another word there, Evi quickly walked towards her balcony and out, wanting to get some fresh air. She had no idea when time it was, but it went by so fast because at this moment the sun was rising right in front of her. It was already the next day, it had already come so quickly that she didn't see this coming. Evi though, she was still thinking over this. "Our people are here and our people are there as well, Evi. You and I cannot back away from our responsibility." Flower reminded her, making her think over this. "But what about our people here?" Evi asked her, worried about them as well. "Does it feel wrong?" A voice said, but this time it wasn't her wolf, rather Evi turned around to see it was her mother. She was finally here. Her mother though, she did not look tired or upset, rather she looked happy and that confused Evi . Her behavior was strange. "What did you say." Evi asked. And River smiled at her daugther. "Does it feel wrong?" She asked again. "What feels wrong?" Evi scrunched her face. "The idea of going with him to your own kingdom?" Luna asked, and at this moment the answer was so simple to her and it was right on Evi 's tongue. But she couldn't say it. "Leaving your people seems bad. I understand that. But your Kingdom and those people belong to you as well, Evi. So, I will ask you again. Does it feel wrong to you?" She asked, once again and this time walking closer to her daughter, whose eyes were staring at her mother, the Luna. "Answer me Evi ." She requested and quickly Neve shook her head, answering her question, and a small smile grew on her mother's face. She nodded her head, glad to hear that answer. And this time it was not the wolf that answered, it was Evelet. "I have to leave?" She asked again. "It is very difficult to leave your old pack and go to a new one, Evi, I know how it feels. It's like that for everyone and it was like that for me. It is very hard but you get to do it with your mate." River said, and Evi looked down, scared, and her mother could clearly sense that on her. "Don't over think about it.You have a second chance now Evi , you have one." River let out. "And what about Isaac? Do I just leave him?" Evi asked. "Don't think too much about it, you and Issac are not meant to be together. I know it sounds very harsh and hard, but that's the truth." River let out, explaining what was necessary to her. Immediately, her mother grabbed on to her shoulders, holding her tight and looking deep into her eyes. "I can't force you into anything Evi , that's not at all possible for me to do. But all I can say is, it's up to you. And your mate, he won't leave you. But over there you are a Queen, you have responsibilities and you cannot hide out here forever." Her mother said, speaking the truth. But the truth sounded so harsh to her. Almost as if she was telling her to leave all of them. Evi now knew what had to be done as of now. But it sounded very disturbing coming from her mother. Slowly, River backed away, looking at her daughter one last time as she turned around. At this moment, River was upset because her only daughter was going to leave them, but she knew Evi always would make the right choice for her. Evi saw her mother go, and she felt strange in her stomach. "Mom." She let out and River stopped on her track, and turned around. "Hmmm?" She asked. "Can you call someone, so they can help me pack." NeEvi ve, said it, speaking in a small tone. She knew this was the right thing to do. River, how ever was stunned. "What?" She said, her mother very happy as she smiled at her daughter's answer. Nodding her head, she turned around, walking away from there. However, this was very strange for everyone in the pack. What was going on. And after the day they had, after everything they all had seen. Most of them did not expect this to happen, but many of them were very happy with the decision Evi made. The entire house was brightened up as a new celebration had taken place and now replacing the wedding that was supposed to happen today. Of course, it was very upsetting for the family but also was very rewarding as well. "This is the last of it." One of the guards said to River as they were all bringing out all of her luggage, and everything that belonged to her. They were all placing it in the trunks of the car, while the guards of the King were also helping as well. They were all very happy to have their Queen with them, she was a blessing. More over, they were also rushing the process of getting her out of here, so that they could take her to the kingdom, where she should be and with them. Most of the people already knew about this news, as it spread like wild fire. While many of the other packs still had to find out as to what was happening. The Queen mother stood by Luna River, watching as the process took place. The entire pack was present there, spread around and waiting for their queen to come out of the house. But for now, their eyes were stuck on the king, who was talking to their Alpha, while walking up to his car. "I don't want to apologize for what my daughter did my Lord, but you have to understand she has been through a lot." The Alpha said to the king as they reached his car, but immediately Barca put his hand on his shoulder, stopping him right there. "You do not have to apologize." He said, knowing no one was at fault here. "You do not have to worry about your daughter, she will be well taken care of at all times." He said, sounding nothing like a mate, but this is exactly who he was. A king and that was it. However, at that moment, something very assurance hit him. It was Evi's scent that was surrounding him, something that brought him back to heaven. It was so peaceful, it was just like forest but so fresh, like something was being born at that very moment. Something about her was just so pleasant. Quickly he looked at the door of her mansion, only to see his Queen walking down with her sister and her best friend. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. However, Evi, on the other hand, she stopped before getting down. Evi looked at her entire pack that was standing outside of her house. Most of them looked at her respectfully as always, but this time they had a different look on them. She realised that she was their Queen as well. Her wolf could feel the very same respect. This was all so new, fearful for her. Immediately then her eyes landed on her mate, both their eyes meeting each other .Barka though, had no expression to give and she wasn't expecting anything either. Evi knew she had to live with him now, this was her life and she was already uneasy about that. Knowing she would living with that face, expression, anger and man forever. Immediately, she turned to her sister, who had sympathy in her eyes. "I am really sorry about your wedding, Misty, I am sorry about everything that happened here." She said, but her cousin did not mind that and started shaking her head. "Please don't, I can get married again. I am just so happy that you will be leaving with your mate now, Evi." She said smiling brightly, but Evi had nothing to say to her. She now had no expression. "I never said this to you, and to your face, because I don't want to hurt you. But Evi, living with your mate is an amazing feeling and now you will experience that yourself." She said, holding Evi 's hands, giving her the support she needed. "Just give him time, I know you are not even trying, but do it for your people Evi, and for your wolf." She said, being mature as ever, something Evi did not expect from her, and neither did Gene as well. Evi's face scrunched and she stared at her confused and scared. "Okay......" Gene whispered. "Let's go my love..." Queen mother spoke up, as she smiled at her, and turned around, walking down the stairs, making her way to her car. Evi though, she did not think too much about it. She simply hugged her sister and her best friend and walked down the stairs, meeting her mother and giving her a tight hug as well. "Everything is going to be okay." River whispered softly. Evi had nothing more to say but she pulled her mother close her, one last time. "By mom.." Evi let out, letting go off her mother. Following the queen mother, Evi walked towards her car, which was standing far away from Barka. She was happy to be traveling but away from him. However, the Queen mother had other plans. She stopped on her track and turned to see Evi talking up to her and Barka talking to her father while his eyes staying on her. She smiled to herself, realizing that the king might be strong, but the moon goddess was stronger. "Evelet.." The Queen mother called for her, "Yes.." Evi whispered softly. "Why don't you sit with Barca, both of you can travel together, talk to each other." She said, grinning for her brilliant idea. She was very proud of what she did, but Evi was not okay with this. Slowly, she turned to her mate, seeing his eyes were on her the entire time. He didn't say anything to her but simply walked up to his car, and pulled the door open, waiting for her to get inside. Evi did not want to fight anymore, or even cause a scene not in front of the people yet again. And so she quickly changed her direction, making her way to his car. This time both their eyes staying on each other. They couldn't pull away, even though both of them wanted to but the moment she got closer to him, Evi stopped one last time, taking a glance of the house she lived in. Looking at the pack and her family she was leaving behind. Evi wanted to look at them and remember them, not understanding why she had to do all this, she didn't even know what a Queen did, and here she was taking that part in her life. She could come back if she wanted to, but this time not just as a Luna of the pack, but as a queen. Evi knew life for her would not be like any other Luna, some how she was well aware of that fact.. She then glanced at Barka, looking at him with venom in her eyes for him. Quickly, then she pushed herself inside of the car, sitting down on the passenger seat. Barka then pushed the door heavily, making the car shake. But it did not affect Evi. She sat there, and all Evi saw was that everything was black in there. Everywhere she looked at, it was pitched black there. "Just like his soul," She whispered, sitting tight and unconsciously Evi was holding on to her dress tight in her fist. Her eyes on Barka, she was staring right ahead, watching as the king made his way around the car, and then got into the car as well. Both of them alone in there, sharing the same space and none of them knew how this was going to be, none of them had anything to say either. Never the less, Barka glanced at her, he could feel her fear, tension, irritation and sadness. The man clenched his fist, not knowing how to help her, but also he did not want to. This was not something he had ever done before, he wasn't going to start now. Everyone outside immediately backed away as the cars started, and there was a loud roar from the King and Queen's car. Right then, one by one, every car started to move ahead. At that moment, Evi couldn't help but feel a tight and heavy stab in her stomach. It was then that Evi realised that she was actually leaving her pack and her people behind for her to live her life now. She sat up straight, looking around at her people who were waving at her, but this was a completely different experience for Evi. Everything up and till now seemed and felt like a bad dream that she did not want to get out of, but this was too realistic. Evi was watching as the gates of her pack opened. Evi sat there, watching herself leave the place that she never thought she would leave. Where her mate died, where her family was, where she was supposed to be married. Everything was done.
